  1. This is as good a place as any for this.
  2. DB, for sure. I was gonna say "CB," but I recently read something about nickel corners/safeties, and it confused me enough that I'm gonna say DB.
  3. They sorta do? In a digital sense. The thing that made me do a triple take on NFT's was when I read that owning an NFT has no bearing, per se, on having intellectual property rights to the thing itself. So, that piece of digital art that went for many, many millions of dollars, if I have this right, the person who "bought it" (as an NFT (?)) now has a blockchain embedded, unique signifier establishing that the artwork is theirs. But they don't have any exclusive rights to it. Isn't that the whole concept of property? The right to exclude others therefrom? Are NFT's not ... property? Sheesh. I'm unclear on what's actually owned. The signature itself?
  4. Legend. I've told it here, but my favourite stories about Miller were (1) how he created a "hide in plain sight" Myspace account when he arrived in Buffalo. (2) My sports-know-nothing uncle lived near him around Elmwood Village, and told pleasant stories about how he enjoyed jamming on acoustic guitars with his nice new neighbour.
  5. I read the same thing - maybe a military assignment for dad? He has a brother who was born in the area.
  6. I like the Rousseau (sp?) pick. A few things I heard or read that I like: (1) Huge upside. I like that Beane swings for the fences. I realize that there will be misses (arguably Edmunds has been one, sorta), but it's a good approach. (2) Said to be well-raised by a solid family. That makes him a fit for the Bills #culture. (3) I heard one scout say that he loved how Rousseau can keeps his eyes in the backfield (on the QB) as he works through blocks. Playing high is a concern. But I feel like that's a technique issue that can be addressed.
  7. If you're icing an all-time Sabres team, Eichel skates on the top line as a wing or centres the second line. I realize that creates an issue with Lafontaine. Come to think of it - I think I prefer Eichel on the wing on the top line. I think Lafontaine is more of a playmaker than Eichel. I'm talking strictly in terms of the calibre of player - not stats, accomplishments, etc.
  8. He's got a punchable face. That pairs nicely with playing with jam. Hopefully, he can make it work (for the Sabres) in the NHL .
  9. Yeah - agreed 100%. Other than being obviously annoyed at Hamilton (and I agree that the inclusion of "moving your feet" sealed that deal), there was nothing unusual about this at all.
  10. I’ve been watching the last ~30 minutes of game play — the Sabres look like a real NHL team. It’s amazing to behold. Also, the Casey Mittlestadt Reclamation Project is in full swing. That’s big.
  11. I see. Arrogant ***** who are full of sh1t and like to sniff their own farts, etc. ... aren't con artists, necessarily. Venn (sp?) diagram time or something: All people who are con artists are full of sh1t (and they *know* they are), but not all people who are full of sh1t are con artists.
  12. Okay. I don't disagree. That is also the language of someone who is full of sh1t. Many people who are full of sh1t believe their sh1t. What indication do we have that Krueger was knowingly engaged in deception with his sh1t?
  13. So he's full of sh1t. But how do we get the sense that this was a con? He coached hockey in Europe for decades, with some success I hear.
  14. Are we getting Lafontaine back?!
  15. Full of sh1t, I get. Incompetent, I get. But this, I don't get. In order to engaged in a con, the person perpetrating the con has to know that they are deceiving other people. On what basis would this be inferred of Krueger?
  16. I can't recall if I, or someone else, posted it elsewhere here: Towards the end, he was giving me Michael Scott vibes. Michael Scott is not a bad person (far from it). He's a hilariously bad business manager, though.
  17. That’s wonderful. This also explains, I think, why Dunleavy seemed on the verge of tears when he called the closing seconds.
  18. Fun hockey is fun.
  19. This is a fun game.
  20. The feedback immediately above makes Karmanos sound ... Beane-like?
  21. Well, I’ll be. Hat tip to you and @PASabreFan. Not for nothing: That’s basically a battle between player safety and the gambling industry (the sharps), with line-setting winning out in sports other than hockey.
  22. Man, that's any professional sport -- including even baseball, I would imagine. This is why leagues have permitted teams to euphemize what an injury is, so that opponents can't target it. I think opponents get the 411 on injuries anyway.
  23. I re-watched the ceremony's video - well, parts of it. Thoughts: 1. I didn't - and still don't - recall Doug Moss. 2. Where was Perreault? 3. Mike Wilson?!
