  1. I dunno man. He’s mostly below replacement level when I watch him.
  2. Fun hockey team is fun.
  3. Krebs wearing 19 and feathering passes cross ice …
  4. Love that combination for a shorty. Also dropping in to say: I’m listening on the radio as I wait on a youth sports thing. Rick sounds great. His give and take with Ray about the Billie Eilish confetti and Ray’s nonstandard English (high stuck!) were wonderful. (Paging @PASabreFan)
  5. Gotcha. Based on what I'm seeing (and not seeing), it sure seems that way. Very fair take here - thanks. He *was* really good early in the season - looked like a player who had really grown and worked on his game.
  6. Muffuletta Wrappers! Also, I missed the memo: Does Olofsson have some sort of core injury that has taken away his torso-torqued shot?
  7. Eazy was a legitimate gangster, sure. But he couldn’t hold a candle to Dre, Cube, and, later on, Snoop when it came to artistry, creativity, and technique. E didn’t write his own lyrics (at least any of the good ones), couldn’t craft beats or coordinate samples, and he often had to be recorded a bar at a time. If Dre and others were wannabe gangsters, E was a wannabe artist.
  8. I think this is right. Recency bias had me all "BEST HALFTIME SHOW EVER!" ... and it was really good, really fun. But Prince's performance is still the tops.
  9. some #fancystats (that i don't really understand) to confirm what the eye test tells any reasonably attentive viewer: tuch is a strong, positive force in the top-6 of any NHL team.
  10. I watch the guy play, and I just keep being reminded of Derian Hatcher in that phase of his career where Tim Connolly was making him look like a pylon. Big, slow, and consistently on the wrong side of the play.
  11. On Super Bowl Sunday? Probably not. Also, a question on behalf of Gen Z and Gen Alpha: What the hell is Sportscenter?
  12. Can’t paste it here, but Chad D has a tweet about how Columbus’s XGF was 1.8, and they wound up with 4. I am essentially counting that game as a win.
  13. I’m gonna revisit the Samuelsson thing. The eye test says he’s getting abused. His raw Corsi matches that: 21 SAT against, 4 SAT for while he’s on the ice.
  14. Lol - my feed is about 30 seconds behind.
  15. I don’t understand the fuss over Samuelsson. I see him getting abused a lot.
  16. I can do without Bjork Bjork Bjork. I forgot about that one Hayden play on that shift. Beer league stuff.
  17. Stick-screen rather than a tip.
  18. Thanks, both. Okay. I get now why sometimes a #fancystats shrug of shoulders would be given when certain SOG disparities would occur — “meh - score effects.” But I definitely had it conflated with a PDO-type concept. Granato’s first challenge here is that his roster isn’t very good. Yet.
  19. I need more context to understand and respond. I thought *score effects* were sort of random - puck luck? I infer from this that a team can influence the other team’s score effects? Is that a function of the quality of chances surrendered? (I thought score effects was measured without regard to such predictive measures.)
  20. Going D-Line with their first pick would be quite something after going D-Line with the first two picks last season. Value always plays a big role -- like if there's a guy they love (have ranked top-10) who just drops to them -- but, with that caveat, I do, as you note, expect them to go DB with their top pick. If they were to go on the other side of the ball with their top pick, I'd like to see them go playmaker who can wiggle and burn.
