He was caught out badly on one of the EDM third period goals as well.

For television purposes, I think a playoff game in Calgary cannot be beat. What an atmosphere.
-
It is uninteresting

I had little or no context for ESPN’s coverage of the NHL before watching tonight’s game. I approve. The female reporters doing the player interviews are sharp and quick on their feet in asking their questions.

The replies here are funking wild. Massively successful and famous comic who’s from Toronto wears an away Sabres sweater on widely watched, rewatched, and social media distributed talk show (EDIT: *in order to show love for a neighbour city that was the site of a horrendous act of domestic terrorism*.) ’Spacers drag the show, its host, and otherwise miss the point. -
Until today, I had not realized that these two infamous things happened during the same game.

What a nice thing to do. God bless that funny man. I am surprised that his answer to Colbert's question was "beer" rather than "gasoline." I wish he hadn't had all that work done to his face. Now he looks like Elon Musk's funny brother. -

Given how cannibalized (it more or is Balkanized (is that still something you can say?)) most AHL teams' seasons are with call-ups, this seems like a logical and fair approach to playoffs. -

maybe you should volunteer to edit their copy.

Also came here to say: Having watched those extended Alberta highlights, HOLY SH1TBALLS was that goaltending leeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaky. How many pucks squeezed their way between the goalie's arm and torso? Eee gads.

I don't get to seem him play nearly enough. I watched the extended highlights today. That guy is, hands down, the most dynamic hockey player I have ever seen. It is absolutely ridiculous what he does. Seeing you post that, I can't help but feel a little bad for Salma Hayek.

what in fresh hell is this thing? National May Ray Day is celebrated on May 19 and today we celebrate all the rays of sunshine in our lives. It’s that time of year when the remnants of spring bring the whispers of summer, and the sunshine is at its most inviting. So what are you waiting for? Take a gulp of that sweet summer air. .... Though National May Ray Day has many associations now, the general idea remains the same — to get out there and soak up some sun. It’s the chance to catch the last breath of spring along with the gentle rays precluding summer; a time when nature puts its best foot forward. +++ I am confusion. How am I to take a gulp of sweet summer air in mid-May? And why is mid-May - in putting its best foot forward - *precluding* summer's arrival? Gimme shelter.

Yeah - Battle of Alberta is must see TV. But those start times - ugh. (I am old.) I'll probably be watching extended highlights the next day.

(Huge lift. I'll try to come back to this one.)

I remember hearing DeBoer speak on the Robin Lehner season-ending injury, and thinking: "What a jerk."

I hear that a lot. I think that baseball - the nature of the game, how it's played (*so* many starts, stops - hundreds of unique, isolated events) - is uniquely susceptible to becoming competition-by-spreadsheet. As a casual fan of the game myself (I watched a ton of Yankee games on WPIX when cable first became a thing), I am still struck by how the fielders shift for certain batters -- at times, the 3rd baseman damn near standing over 2nd base. -
The greatest Buffalo Sabre of all time would like a word.

National feed just explained that #23 for Florida was somewhat recently (?) banging around the ECHL, moved up to being a fringe AHL’er … now this. Shades of Pominville in 2006.

Playoff GDT 5/10/22 - Rochester @ Utica 7pm AHLTV

This is in-line with what I've heard and read as well: really good down low and in tight, and perplexingly unreliable on tracking long shots. Are we going to see the UPL WTF Wave replace the Miller WTF Wave? And whither @Ghost of Dwight Drane with a theory on UPL's eyes not being level? -

this is a question and concern for me: quinn's gone quiet on the score sheet. cause for concern, or, as baker posits, a step in his development? i am fairly comfortable concluding that this is developmental. the A obviously doesn't have the speed or skill that the big league does, but, lord, it seems like they can bang bodies just about as well (and it appears that sometimes AHL teams will focus on doing just that more than a team would in the NHL (??)). -
Good observation. And I think Tampa might just bit a little fried. That team has played A LOT of hockey the past few years.
