  1. WHY IS TOMMER NEKKID - DID THEY JUST GET FINISHED MAKING THE BABY AND THEN IT WAS BORN?
  2. Another thought: Maybe he only wants to go somewhere where the team plays a "low event" style that will enable him to rehabilitate his reputation, future value. He might look at Buffalo's open ice style and young roster, and think "no thanks."
  3. I was at the Barenaked Ladies' show at Artpark this week. Toad the Wet Sprocket and Gin Blossoms were on the bill as well. I've always enjoyed BNL's music and especially their shows - that's with Steven Page and without. As to the latter, I have come to appreciate that the guys are true professionals - they deliver the goods. A fun wrinkle for Buffalo-area shows is how familiar they all are with cultural references that are peculiar to WNY. Among other things, they clearly grew up watching our local ABC affiliate (they drop many references to and even do impersonations of Irv Weinstein, Commander Tom, @PromoTheRobot). At the end of the show, the BNL drummer (Tyler Stewart) got out from behind the kit and did lead vocals on a medley of covers (with Ed going on drums). Fun stuff. At the conclusion of the songs - they're just grooving along to a cover of Zeppelin's Whole Lotta Love - Stewart enthusiastically introduced the members of the band, and when it came back around to himself, he bellowed: "MY NAME! ... IS JERRRRRRY KORRRRAB!" 🤘 It was epic.
  4. is he really saying that? weird.
  5. swing and a miss by weekes.
  6. personal reasons could be a factor - who knows.
  7. I recall reports - fwiw - that Beane would have preferred Darnold to Allen, but he wasn't getting up into the top-3 in order to get him. So they resolved to move up from 12 and choose Allen ahead of some other QB-needy team (Arizona, iirc). Accepting that as true: It's funny how random success can be in pro sports. OTOH, if Darnold had come into the McBeane-led Bills, maybe things go very differently for him. Maybe? (Who cares.) Also, it never gets old to shoutout Jeremy White's pre-draft devotion to Josh Rosen. What an absolutely brutal take for someone in the takery business. Allen and Jackson as the successful QB's from 2018 seem to confirm: Don't play it safe. Go get the guy with the upside.
  8. had the same thought. i think they're okay - but, yeah. can't be too careful nowadays.
  9. yeah - i think "linked" is almost always 100% agent-driven, and intended to pump up a client's market value.
  10. Drafting a Russian at #9 would sure be something. But hey - this franchise has an excellent track record with acquiring the rights to highly talented Russians who are presumably unable to play in North America.
  11. The news gets a solid *meh* from me. I'd imagine that the station and team want the show to be distanced from the brand that the former hosts had developed.
  12. These big annuity sports salary stories always get some play. But, if I owe someone a bunch of money, I'm usually taking terms (interest free installments, paid over time) in favour of a lump sum.
  13. How would it work if everyone were healthy and Anderson were the third goalie? The team would carry all 3? Or UPL would be in Roch?
  14. Well, if Anderson is the backup and the team remains in the market for a starter ... where do you imagine he'll be?
  15. Eh. It is a different vibe when he's on the team. I'm not saying I love it, or even like it. I'm just responding to the question posed. Are these Adams' comments today? This is encouraging if so.
  16. I infer that he is, in the FO's estimation, part of the answer to the question of how you mentor and bring along a young core.
  17. that word is doing so much work right there.
  18. And who's the starter? Not UPL. (Not yet anyway.)
  19. Really encouraging news. +++ “She’s doing a lot better now. That’s why I’m here," Jessica said after the match. "If she wasn’t doing well, I probably wouldn’t have come. I flew out Wednesday last week, and within that time she was in a really good condition, where I felt like everything was fine, and I felt like my family had everything under control. She’s progressing and she’s been doing rehab. I felt comfortable coming here. But that’s why I didn’t play any warmup tournaments.” “I hope,” she said, “she got to watch me play today.”
  20. It's a good question. To me, the key word is "rehabilitating." You're not doing any rehab in an ICU, in my experience. If she's doing rehab, she's hopefully in a rehab facility (not a hospital) doing that rehab.
