  1. He Tweeted that he'd spoken to his sources and that the Sabres are not interested in trading for Kane. Trading. Then at 2:00 a.m. today he posted a Twitter poll that asked, when you realize your brother is dead to you, are you "relieved" or "sad"?
  2. (evidently, the account deleted the tweets. 😐)
  3. not for nothing. the rejoinder is pretty good too.
  4. The word "trading" is doing a lot of work there. Makes sense. Also, maybe someone should check in on Timmy. And listen: I'm not here to shame or poke fun at a falling out with family. But putting that sh1t on Twitter for the masses to consume at 2:00 in the morning? šŸ˜•
  5. it is a bummer - i love watching games in that arena. electric. (and very red.)
  6. Holy old men yelling at clouds, Batman. In response, I first cede the floor to @nfreeman My youngest is the in the midst of his teen years and effing loves the NBA. Not sure how it happened. Actually, I think I am sure. Far more than any other North American sports league, the NBA has styled and positioned itself in ways that are uniquely appealing and enthralling to the 'utes. They've done it in myriad ways. The ones that jump out to me is (1) the manner in which they deliver their content (errr where) and (2) how they have allowed and empowered their stars to become brands unto themselves (in this way, the NBA got fully on board with the reality that the internet and social media has allowed kids to become fans of players who play in distant markets). Oh, and don't look now, but, as often as not, the league's stars are coming from outside of the U.S. That league prints money, and it only looks to be growing. The business of sports entertainment will surely change in ways we cannot predict or even imagine. But if I had to put a ducat on an existing league to survive what is yet to come, I'd put it on the NBA. I type all of that as someone who doesn't much care for how the game gets played nowadays -- all 3 ball all the time (whither a James Worthy tomahawk in transition?!). In fact, I think that's the NBA's biggest challenge: How to reintroduce some balance to the game. I lightly followed this year's playoffs, and I could not get over how several series were "close" (going 6 or 7 games), but were populated with games that were not at all close.
  7. THE MIGHTY BOOSH! ICE! FLOW! NOWHERE TO GO!
  8. what happened to dude's knee? i saw it on the tiktok (true story). is he okay? the shows go on? I have a lotta love for War and Treaty. They had a poorly publicized (and lightly attended) show at Babeville's small room a few years ago -- I was grateful for the chance to see them up close, trying out what was then new material. This an interesting collection of shows. My oldest was big into TOP for a while - I enjoyed their music and became aware that their live shows are an experience. What a legend - I was bummed to miss this.
  9. this ain't it. mental health can be a motherf*cker. we need no more proof of that than to see a young, successful entertainment superstar cite his own mental health issues when canceling a ~90-city mega tour.
  10. Buffalo News’ Lance Lysowski has a piece about 6th round pick Lukas Rousek, and how he turned heads at the camp. That sort of unanticipated good NHL-quality player is precisely what a winning team needs. Here’s hoping Lukas can fill that role for the Sabres.
  11. ā€œcares.ā€ šŸ˜‚ it’s mid-july on a hockey message board. I’m just messing about - sparring. having a little fun. and whither a ā€œproblemā€?
  12. Fair deuce. And my apologies. I legit had to go back today, review the thread, in order to recall (1) how we’d got where we were and (2) what the genesis of this sub-argument was. I won’t beef with them. Their definition is generalized, diluted for the hoi polloi. The investment website’s (Chet’s and Muffy’s) definition sharpened the pencil, and proved you wrong. Not at all. Read my posts: I wanted to paint, and indeed did paint, Tom as a huge as1hole of a boss who didn’t want this meatball (hockey puck) venture to cost him one thin dime. To wit: His demand that someone in senior management repay him for Jeff Jillson’s (sp?) bonus and the ensuing 45 minute silent treatment in an overly warm sunroom. That’s *his* story! From such known facts — to which I’d ask you to stipulate (and to which you obstinately refused and in so doing dissembled) — I posited it as reasonable to infer that TG could’ve deferred inking a big deal and thereby cost the team its captain (another as1hole, btw!). And then there’s the sourced information confirming that that’s what went down. But no one on record saying so, as you *not unfairly* insist must be the case in order to credit a story.
  13. Edit: Pedantic, obtuse, and wrong. (Nota bene: ā€œatā€.)
  14. Ah, quite so. I was imprecise. So, maybe .01 in the black? What I really meant was ā€œthou shalt lose no moneyā€ — the sort of edict pursuant to which an as*hole boss keeps his reports in an uncomfortably warm 45 minute silence until someone offers to pay him for the unanticipated $250K bonus incurred during a Cup run season. Also, I think you’re being pedantic and obtuse.
  15. That looks fun. The NFL will presumably be learning a lesson from European soccer, where clubs with long histories tweak their main uniforms every year and come up with entirely new alternates/thirds every year as well. It’s like printing money.
  16. I’m just confused now.
  17. I’m going inferential again. We’ve got his story about what a monstrous d1ck ge was to senior management. I’m imagining how he likely spoke about that matter to those who reported to him.
  18. Wtf is with Gaudreau going to Columbus on a discount?
  19. ā€œAccording to Tomā€ = expressed by Tom in a spitting vein popping rage?
  20. Inferentially: This seems like more good news regarding KP’s health.
