Same page? Hmm. Well, at least it puts us in the same book. The same series of books? Is it a trilogy? In any case, we're able to discuss our respective vantages. I would like to see GM KA splurge on something before training camp starts. Move some of his coveted assets for something in the here and now. A top-6-ish winger (right winger) to tide us over until Quinn is back. A legit NHL goalie. But I'm a skeptic by nature. So I can abide GMKA's apparent view that the better course is to conserve those assets and let this roster grow more organically. But IDK, man. The Quinn injury's got me nervous.

No one here is making any choices or moves. To the original point here on this sub-thread: Do you think Patrick Kane would help the Sabres win more games next season than they would otherwise win without him? More broadly: Have you posted elsewhere about the difficult choices and risky moves that you'd like to see GMKA take? I'll grant you: He's being very deliberate in the way he goes about things.

If you're talking about my post: I was mostly just clowning around. Mostly. As was discussed in the Hasek thread, Czechs apparently despise Russians, in general. And little wonder. 1968 wasn't that long ago - certainly well within the lifetimes of some of those who post here.

Everyone here wants the Sabres to win. Everyone. (Well, maybe not everyone. But I'm excluding trolls and those who post here in bad faith.) Could Kane have something left to offer the Sabres in a middle 6 / power play role? The consensus seems to be that he is washed. But then I heard that he was playing injured and got a big hip surgery done. So maybe he could still be good? Quinn's lengthy absence makes me intrigued anew by Kane.

Who do think you are: Me asking about Kim Pegula’s condition? (Ha. I have no idea.)

That was the most recent report. That said, I’d be surprised if he were to return to his former role. Even people who make full recoveries from mini strokes sometimes report just being a tiny tick off for years and years afterward. So small a tick that it doesn’t matter in everyday life and other people would never notice. But if you’re a surgeon? A pilot? And, sure, an NFL play by play announcer? It may be enough to end that career.

Ambiguous and unsourced speculation is generally the norm around here, but on a subject this sensitive, y’all are obliged to do better.

She’s just like me fr. I tried it a few times in college but it just made me feel anxious and immobilized.

Our future lord and saviour Jessica Pegula is on to the Wimbledon quarters. The first time she’s advanced that far in that tournament.

Hasek is a frickin’ mad man and I love him for it. I hope he went to the EU hearings wearing little more than a silk bathrobe.

Right - a hive mind. A … *narrative*. (DRINK!) I guess we’ll see. The evident consensus on the Bills being a team in decline with a closed (closing) window is one that arises from pro sports talkers and content creators, not sober analysts. I’m not sure what “masses” you’re referring to.
-
The Bills should be fine this season. They may win fewer than 13 games but still be as good or better than last season. There’s some July hive mind involved in predicting the Bills’ imminent demise.
-
Holy sh1t - can you imagine otherwise? ”Murph’s play by play call SUCKS!! And I hope he remains permanently impaired by his stroke.” The breathless chatter about Joe Ferguson ‘round a rural Arkansas cracker barrel doesn’t qualify, I suppose.

Do we have any sense of how the 2 injuries compare? -

FAHK!! I had (have?) him pegged as the forward who would make a *jump* this season. -
I’m now completely distracted by the fact that the new prospect is a carny.

McDermott recruited Beane to Buffalo. These guys have always been a package deal. This extension removes any doubt on the subject. IMO, if one were to go, the other would have to go.

Well, TIL. Could that be part of the reason that - many years later - someone just horrendously cheap shotted Turgeon after a scored goal, IIRC?
