  1. It is absurd that Pete Turgeon is getting into the HHOF but Mogilny is not. Maybe Mogilny suffers this year because of a generalized anti-Russian sentiment?
  2. Never a bad idea to revisit the translated lyrics of that ode to Zemgus: Olas are here (in the house) Are you ready? One comma five million (something) (Zemgus Girgenons) Raising Latvia up a bit (Zemgus Girgenons) Who’s the one that has a lot of money? (Zemgus Girgenons) Who’s the one whose name we’re shouting? (Zemgus Girgenons) I’m so clean, I’m so white, I’m so free, I’m so young I walk into the club and throw down cash, just like Zemgus Girgensons I sit on the couch, feet on the table, I don’t care if someone’s in front of me or not I walk through [the crowd], lift up and shoot, just like Zemgus Girgensons You see me standing in front of you, you like my songs, you want to be beside me, You’re coming over, but I’m passing you by, just like Zemgus Girgensons I see the hottest girl in the club, I tell her that I’m her destiny, yo But she says I’m not as famous as Zemgus Girgensons (Zemgus Girgensons) (Zemgus Girgensons) (Zemgus Girgensons) (Zemgus Girgensons) I’m calm, cool and precise (dude, yes yes yes yes) I hit the goal exactly, money in my pocket Girls, beemers, money, all of it I’m always ready, as if it was a [race or match] The people are crazy, and [that’s my setting or background] I’m just like Girgensons You can’t punish me because I don’t care No one believes you You have no faith I’m still a Dels [<- reference to their channel] I’m styling’, I’m free Olas are in the house, your feet are falling Girls can only dream, while they cook eggs on the stove You make me laugh when you say you’re my bitter opponent You can’t beat me anywhere While Zanis is alive Girls are dancing, million in the bank Soon my music will be everywhere I’m not a copy, but I do have a clone No one else but… (Zemgus) (Girgensons)
  3. See, there's the root of the problem. That's not a real name.
  4. They're in the business of creating content and generating traffic (clicks, views, engagement). That's all.
  5. Your aversion to subject pronouns is testing my comprehension limits.
  6. What’s his game? How does he project?
  7. I object if only on the basis that it imperils our ability to claim “Mike Peca is Bigger Than Your Peca.” My favourite Aud sign ever.
  8. I *knew* I should have looked that up. My bad. Also: Did Kelly throw to Moulds? My memory gets foggier and foggier as the years pass.
  9. My first reaction to hearing about that guy will always be to think of Adam Mair punching his stupid face.
  10. A drought guy? Bold move, Cotton.
  11. Total toss up for me between 78 and 34. Edge goes to the latter.
  12. Occam's razor, right? I'm convinced that Diggs was/is pissed because he's not being treated with the respect he feels he deserves -- just being handed game plans that treat him like a pawn on a chess board. He wants to be heard and he wants to be featured. Man, I don't think so. That's just the way of the world nowadays. Diggs is a beast and a top tier WR1. Those don't grow on trees. That I will never click on a link providing Cowherd content. I like all of these takes - especially the Elam one. I heard pundits observe that Elam was a somewhat curious pick for this franchise because his skill set didn't readily match what the Bills do on D. And, lo and behold, his usage seems to bear that out. As for Rousseau (Groot?), he just hasn't shown enough to make it unnecessary to sign players like Von and Floyd.
  13. From “very concerned” to “excused absence” is a bit of the ol’ amateur hour. He was clearly ticked off on Tuesday. OTOH, he also said on Wednesday that the parties needed a bit of space and time after their meeting on Tuesday. So, he did seem to intimate on Wednesday that the conversation on Tuesday was a tough one. Which is perhaps why he was a bit pissed off on Tuesday.
  14. My best guess from those clarifying remarks is that Diggs is frustrated with being treated as a "piece" of the offense -- e.g., having the OC create game plans where Diggs is being used as a decoy -- rather than being treated more like a stakeholder (a QB1?) who has a seat at the table -- or at least some kind of role -- when a game plan is being created.
  15. Allen clarified that: “I mean, I think it has more to do than just football, is what I’m basically saying,” Allen said. “There’s the football piece, one, and then stuff that happens due to football. And I’ll just kind of keep it at that.”
  16. Congratulations to the Las Vegas Golden Knights. Congratulations to Jack Eichel. The word "gold" may be in that franchise's name, but they are in fact the platinum standard when it comes to managing and operating an NHL franchise. Onward!
  17. "Diggs is a diva" is a lazy take. The guy is intensely weird and super emotional. But he's no diva.
  18. "this does not work" is 100% accurate. The franchise's biggest challenge is to figure out life post Diggs as the WR1. Also ... "not football-related." Wtf.
  19. Yeah - I've heard that as well. I guess it's possible that Diggs was pissed about that stuff? OTOH, if Diggs is getting the ball as much as he wants it and where he wants it, then he probably doesn't care at all what Allen has going on outside of the facility. Now I'm thinking of those 2 consecutive sideline patterns (both incomplete) that Allen threw to Davis ... was that against Cinci in the playoffs? Diggs was WIDE open on one of 'em (for a nice gainer). Holy spit, bro. Nah. Allen knows what's up.
  20. Also, who else has other tea? I don't know where this stuff gets posted, but there are people in my office who do know where to find it, and, per a water cooler chat I had a few minutes ago, there's a rumour out there that Diggs' frustration was largely with Allen, whom Diggs viewed as insufficiently focused on "ball" (and perhaps more caught up in his new wealth, distracted by his love life).
  21. Stands to reason. Something's amiss with McDermott. The guy is (or was) the guru of no-drama. And then, at minicamp, MINICAMP, drops a "very concerned" about his star receiver's "absence," which, has McDermott well knew, was not strictly an absence at all? Unforced error. Bad move.
  22. I can’t get past the fact that choosing to root for Eichel isn’t a take.
  23. PT Barnum. Don King. Vince McMahon. He’s a barker. A promoter. A bit of a grifter. It’s a familiar shtick. I’ll always say this for him: He knows talent. There’s a lot of it at Barstool.
  24. And another BC guy. I like it.
  25. I watched most of the game last night. Turned it off and presumed that the score would hold and Las Vegas would be up 3-0. I'm glad that Florida scratched that one out. I'll add my voice to those who are saying it: Eichel is a funking 2-way monster. A beast. Regularly doing things that are noticeable and positive for his side. Good on him.
