  1. I left my home towards the end of the 2nd last night in order to meet an old friend at the Harborcenter Marriott's bar. (My friend was in from out of town, was at the game, and was staying at the Marriott.) I got to the hotel's bar area with about 10:00 minutes to go in the third. I squinted at the televisions. There was hockey on, but ... not the Sabres game? One of the wait staff saw my confusion and explained: "Yeah. We don't get the ESPN+ Sabre games." I was at a hotel owned and controlled by PSE. The Sabres broadcast was unavailable at the hotel bar. Astounding.
  2. As close to a playoff game as we've had in some time. Let's get it. Let's Go, Buffalo!!
  3. I've said this before: I think Graham truly believes that he's dunking on Harrington when he does this stuff. But I end up feeling like it's "a pox on both your houses" type situation. Harrington to Graham: Aaaand, when I read stuff like this, I find myself sorta maybe sympathizing with the guy again ...? It's reflexive for me.
  4. That's more like it. Btw, my eye test is in-line with what those data say. I remember in the early ... 2021-2022 season (?) there were reports that he was moving away from being a one-trick-pony (great shot) into a more complete player ... but then he had a core injury (?) that derailed his progress. I also think there was a stretch this season when he was showing a more rounded game. But, of late, I'm just not seeing much from him.
  5. Wait a second. Is a resident #fancystats person deploying +/- as an arbiter of a player's quality?
  6. Diggs has reportedly unfollowed the Bills on his Instagram. He is (still?) following the Cowboys.
  7. Someone purporting to be the kid's dad has weighed in, btw.
  8. Eh? It struck me as credible. And it struck me that he was saying: I don't recall this situation specifically, but if I was shooing the kid away (which he knows he's done in the past), it was to protect the kid from something not age appropriate.
  9. It was an adult workplace that, for that day, had been expressly opened to participation on the part of kids. It's an interesting wrinkle that the Sabres' staffer (seen shooing) tweeted to the effect that he might have been shooing her away in order to protect her. From what? The interview's content and/or tone? From Harrington? He wasn't clear.
  10. I tend to agree that the guy seen kneeling at the start of the clip should have been in front of her to clear the way, grease the skids, get the all-clear. Sending her into the scrum wasn't a good idea.
  11. I should have known. The video surfaced because Tim Graham was taking more shots at Harrington. So, the video is online because of another guy who's a bit of a prickly pear. Maybe there’s more to the story …? https://twitter.com/cbandura/status/1632779418354450436?s=20
  12. P.S. I thought this was from Saturday's game. The replies indicate that this is an older clip, as the Sabres staffer who joins in with a "shoo shoo" gesture is no longer with the team.
  13. This issue is by now conclusively resolved. In the event there were any doubt on the topic:
  14. The disparity between the home record with the goat head retros and the royal blues is something I can no longer ignore. Irrational as it is, it seems there's enough of a sample size to infer that the team plays better when wearing the black goat heads. Hopefully they can buck the trend tonight.
  15. I don't understanding sitting Jost. Am I missing something?
  16. Part of my point here is: The idea is to build a team. With complementary pieces. This player sounds like a piece that the team needs.
  17. the who now? I love the sound of this player. Let's go, Buffalo!!
  18. Ahhite. This is all fair. Good points.
  19. Idk what to tell you, man. The tippy top of the reputables - Friedman, Lebrun (sp?) - were reporting that the Sabres were in on the player (and, towards the end of the process, it was essentially just the Sabres and Senators who were in a position to do the trade), but that the asking price was the Sabres' sticking point. If you take the view that those distinguished information-brokers (not to pump their tires too much) just put out BS content to drive clicks, then we can't really have a conversation on this subject.
