Eichel is changing Agents will be represented by Pat Brisson
pi2000 replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
I'm not buying this. They're speculating. Of course Fish is going to build a strategy around what Jack wants. Doesn't mean he's a puppet. That's what agents do, they build a plan based on the players input. Hamilton? Joke. -
The Sabres, Eichel, NHL and NHLPA had a meeting regarding Jack

Same. It will happen eventually, but this season was never about winning anyway. -

Agree 1000%. The Sabres plan is build from within, through the draft with players who want to be here. This releases any stranglehold the agent community had over the franchise ("buffalo tax", etc...). The days of getting bullied by agents/players is over. -

I'm not sure this gets settled anytime soon.... but with each passing day I'm gaining more respect for KA. He's showing some serious backbone, feeling more and more comfortable with him as GM moving forward. -
Outdoor game in southern Ontario in March? Sus.

KA has earned my respect. My concern, knowing him personally, was that he would cave. He hasn't. Well done KA. Stay strong.

Buffalo only pays if their doctor's are onboard.

Agent contracts are not guaranteed. Meaning if you fire your agent, that's it... they're cut off moving forward. That said, I'm not privy to the precise language of Fish's contract. I've heard cases, notably with larger contracts, of agent buyout clauses. Wether or not Jack had to pay him out, again depends on the language in the contract. -

This move might explain the emoji he tweeted out not too long ago. Dissatisfied customer. -
Would love to listen on KA's first conversation with Brisson.

Once the paperwork is submitted, absolutely. -

He's grasping at straws. A sign of desperation perhaps? After their latest meeting with Sabres brass, I'd reckon Peter Fish is advising him to hold off on surgery as the disc is in fact healing on it's own, albeit slowly. His impatient young client disagrees. -

This is essentially an AHL team. Young kids still learning the game, growing together under a developmental head coach. They're currently at $8mil under the cap floor... lowest in the league. After they sign Dahlin they're still +$20mil under the cap. How is that NOT tanking? I hate it and I don't want to hear about a silver lining or how good some of these kids might turn out. This is a professional team that is supposed to be the class of the sport. It's a sub-standard product and I have no idea why anybody would pay NHL ticket prices to watch an AHL team. This could be an historically bad season, if they don't finish DFL I'll be shocked.

Tage will surprise.

I agree with this. I do believe they tried to sign Ullmark. I also believe they made the correct decision to let him go at that price tag. The best ability is availability. That said, this smells like a team operating under an extremely tight budget. Combined with the fact that nobody willfully wants to play for the organization, it will remain an issue until they can fill the position organically. So, no this isn't a traditional tank... it's a cultural reset of the entire organization.

They'll be so bad this year it will break the spirit of the Dahlins and Cozens... resulting in permanent brain damage. Granato is fired over the Olympic break, KA launched after the season. Dahlin demands a trade. Power refuses to sign after his college season ends. They sign Okposo, Girgensons and Pysyk to one year deals. Eveybody else is either traded or waived. They finish DFL, lose the lottery, draft the russia kid Miroshinchenko, who signs with the KHL. 2022-23 will feature a new GM, new HC, and 18 new roster playes plus one Jack Eichel who is still locked in a stalemate with team doctors facing a second straight season on LTIR.

He's Michael Dell's once removed half nephew in-law.
