  1. Thanks for this, I love nostalgia like this I remember Knuble... kinda like the last guy in 2 degrees of Gretzky and Ovechkin...
  2. Well, I suppose if you are thinking that I was saying Power straight up for McDavid that would be a little bit more than a pipe dream. The league would not allow it. Clearly there would need to be equal value... no I am not going to theorize on what that equal value would be... as it is a illustrative example... to me the bottom line is that no player is off limits as long as we are trading equal value and are getting the best player in the trade. Similar to the LaFontaine/Turgeon trade... Do I think we make a trade of this magnitude, no i dont they are rare and usually have an insanely unique circumstance. I am simply saying I dont want multiple lesser pieces and prospects for one our better players... I want to get the best player out of any deal we do if that is going to improve us. This is independent of who sits where in what standings... I am sick of getting prospects and multiple pieces predicated on hope for our best players and giving up the best player in the deal or trading them for picks that we hope pan out with an administration that simply cant evaluate and build a balanced team. I dont think it is a recipe for success. I do think that a reimaging of this team is critical and I do not trust the current GM to do that. No player with maybe the exception of Dahlin... (although if you were theoretically trading for literally McDavid I am sure they want him... ) as long as we are getting the best player in the trade. If this position makes you think I am dumb and you are smart... I respect your right to that opinion even though I don't share it.
  3. agreed I dont want to trade power for this guy that guy and a prospect... If we are getting the best player in the deal... talk to me.
  4. I actually am not far off... if you have seen my thoughts on this the only thing I am adamantly opposed to is Adams making any kind of trade. The last person in the world I want in charge of our assets is the orchestrator of this gross negligent incompetence... that said... Under a new regime with a new vision If Power was a piece in a deal to get you a generational player like McDavid... you would still say no? Fair enough.. but I wouldnt if the deal was right.
  5. I second that but I aint complaining neither LOL...
  6. Git R done Beane! err... wait wrong board LOL
  7. I agree this is a box you cant close once you opened it... unless you are trading him... I did think it was a lot of pressure inititally to put on him I was really thinking Tuch to get thru the transition to success... but as we see, there is no transition, only regression and little hope for improvement in the near future.
  8. lol... well, when using miss watching games and Sabres its a hard place to get too... but I did like the 8pm starts back in the day... but I was young so that meant I could stay up longer... now I am old and want to go to bed sooner LOL
  9. I mean when you put it that way... they can join the club LOL
  10. I kind of differ here... and this literally goes for any player on the team... I am against trading no one... as long as we are getting the best player in trade and not drastically over paying... so... you want Power Thompson Peterka and our 1st for McDavid (and I am not saying this is legitimate or even approximates what a trade like that looks like just an example) do you not trade Power? I go back to the LaFontaine/Turgeon trade.... no one was untouchable for the right return... I am in the same place here...
  11. I would say the Browns are not the poster child for Sports efficiency, but at least they made the playoffs a couple times... I would say the Sabres arent even in their class the only real competition out there for sports ineptness comes from the Jets... but they have the advantage at this point as they have at least gutted their FO... so its not over yet but the Sabres are the leader in the club house.. and the next press conference I want to see from Adams is him thanking Terry for the opportunity and being sorry he wasnt able to get it done as he is shown the door.
  12. I am not sure I have ever seen a mid week 6pm start... that is a bit weird... wonder which team shows up today...
  13. I couldnt agree more, how long before Tuch, or Thompson or Dahlin etc... get frustrated wasting their prime with a team going no where... its a real concern... people are willing to go thru tough times if there is hope and light... but this is a dark and seemingly hopeless abyss unless major changes literally an eradication of the FO and a replacing with competence happens... if the Pegula is the GM and Adams is the mouthpiece people are right, there is no hope unless he sells... if its just nespotic choices by a bad owner and he decides to change then maybe there is... but its hard to see it right now... I can only imagine what they see on the inside... we are fans.. this is literally their careers... Now if we had Palm trees... things would clearly be different lol...
  14. I refuse to believe this even though it very well may be true... but if it is... we are beyond screwed and there is literally no hope...
  15. desperately... that plays physical and actually plays...
  16. I am with you... what he said specifically was Dahlin is incapable of leading this team.... my thought was then... put some real players around him. I honestly think you are right he is playing not to get injured... he was one I had really high hopes for... then... well... you see it...
  17. I think he does care... I get he doesnt call players out. but I dont think that is him... the worst thing he can do is not be his authentic self for sure...
  18. I could not agree more... the players are the players... they play like who they are... there is room and need for highly talented folks who just skate... the composition of this team is not only not balanced but has not gotten the leadership on ice nor the committment from the management... they are left twisting... it takes all kinds of pieces... so no, I dont want to blow up Peterka, Quinn, or whoever for not driving people thru the boards or being defensive stalwarts... they are who they are... but your composition must be balanced... I was in one of the last rows... over looking the zamboni entrance I remember after the game saying Dad can we go again tomorrow!!!
  19. It does and I am guilty of this, but our takes and our anger rages the longer it goes on... but yet we still care and wonder why... its really sad actually. I just can't believe it has gotten to this level... my god, my first hockey game when I was 5 I was in the Oranges watching Schoenfeld take Cashman thru the Zamboni doors... I was hooked and hockey was everything.. the players were just beloved.... to go from that to this... is just incomprehensible...
  20. Well I dont think that what you describe is all of it by anymeans... even the refusal to go out an salute the fans... but that certainly is an indicator.... I think the general visceral attitude that we as fans have and the media at this point cannot possibly be endearing... just emotionally as a player... to be constantly booed off the ice or read how horrible you are even if it is true cant possibly make them feel affinity... rather the opposite... probably feel almost like these people railing you everyday are the enemy... or certainly less than friendly.... that being said... I dont think the players hate the fans... I think they get it... I think the acrimony is much more weighted to the fans regard for the players and management than vice versa... although Adams press conference was definitely showing the wear and tear on the relationship... he seemed pissed off, defensive and condescending... Is what I am saying true... no clue... just a feeling especially regarding the internal views of the players and management... I think clearly there is acrimony in the fan base towards the team... and deservedly so..
  21. Its on the GR website... I have heard others say that in passing which is why I brought it up... but this to me really isnt a serious statement nor are people beating war drums... When I heard it I just thought it peculiar and wanted to see if others were thinking like that... as far as Dahlin this is not a guy who I screw with mentally the talent level is rare... so taking the C away I think would be destructive . From my perspective Hamilton is a fair reporter at times but he is emotionally involved and is subject to letting those emotions creep into his reporting when he gets pissed. So, I dont put a lot of stock in that...
