  1. Yes, Power would be claimed. But Norris? Would it be better to use the $8 million to sign a FA in the offseason who could help the team?
  2. Serious question. If Norris was outright waived, would any team pick him up and take on that contract? Same question with UPL. Power? Somebody probably gambles on Power. Just posing the question shows what an awful GM Adams is. Almost makes you yearn for Tim Murray. Almost.
  3. Serious question. Facing a one goal deficit, would this team be better off playing 5 v. 5 until the horn instead of pulling the goalie? Are there any analytics on this? I understand that it would be hockey blasphemy not to pull the goalie but there’s a lot of old school baseball, football and hockey that have been shown to be wrong.
  4. Why not simply waive UPL? If some team by some miracle claims him, you’ve cleared a bad contract off the books. If he refuses to report to Rochester and decides to return to Finland, you’ve cleared a bad contract off your books (I assume that’s how it works). Am I missing something here?
  5. Atlanta??? I guess the thinking would be third time’s a charm.
  6. Your Buffalo Sabres. The most predictable unpredictable team in the NHL.
  7. All the talk in the Penguin game thread about goaltenders needing to steal a game here and there. Islanders outshot the Bruins 45 - 14 last night. Boston wins 3 - 1. Swayman 44 saves.
  8. Remind me. How much did Terry pay for the team?
  9. Is Kuntar an actual prospect? 24 isn’t ancient. Maybe he’s a late bloomer.
  10. He did a Gerbe!
  11. I guess that is correct. Maybe the lesson is don’t trade for draft picks when you don’t know how to draft.
  12. The board in general LOVED the Risto trade. Philly had its pocket picked. Well, Philly has gotten four seasons of a vet, physical RHD (yes, with warts for sure). To date, we’ve received zilch in return. Trade is a negative, period.
  13. Would Minnesota be interested in Quinn? I know Quinn and Rossi were teammates in the OHL. Were they linemates? Not sure what could come back from the Wild. Even at his advanced age, would be nice to see Marcus Foligno back in the fold.
  14. JFC, did he really say that?
  15. Honestly, what’s the point at this point? Alienating the fanbase even more? Waiving JBD means that a defenseman is going to get hurt in the first two weeks and Bryson will be in the top six and playing regular minutes. Guaranteed.
  16. Really? That surprises me. They ain’t Washington.
  17. This is more thought experiment than anything but I presume Nashville is in full rebuild mode. What would it take to get Soros and Stamkos out of Nashville if it is nothing other than picks and prospects? Soros could mentor Levi. I get Stamkos is 35 but gives veteran leadership and can play first or second line center. Fills a couple of gaping holes.
  18. Rosen is going to be five years out and still not a sniff of the big league?
  19. Cernak? You mean the 2nd we gave up (along with McNabb and a second 2nd) for Hudson Fasching?
  20. Now I know you’re missing the point of the post. Look at the 19-20 roster. Competent or incompetent ownership, all those players, including Eichel and Reinhart were on the roster. The question is whether we could have let that group mature over a couple of years and where we would be if we had.
  21. I think you’re missing the point of the post. All of those players were on the team or in the system in 19-20. That’s a great core and at least some supporting talent (Ullmark’s much better than anything that has followed). I think even with INCOMPETENT management and coaching, you keep that team together and at a minimum, it’s a consistent playoff team.
  22. Did we really win the Risto trade. What was that? Three years ago? Rosen has zero goals and zero assists in the NHL. Philly has at least gotten three years of a physical, veteran RHD. Oh yeah, wouldn’t it be nice to have one of those.
