  1. Bills, Sabres..born and raised here. Saw the Sabres twice in person their first month in 1970. Bills first game in the stands was 1965. Boston Celtics - Liked them as a kid in the 1960's. Bill Russell was amazing. Back when Buffalo had the Braves, Bob Kaufman had a summer camp in Derby for a couple years which I attended.. Dave Cowens and John Havlicek came at the end of the week and coached us. They were so nice to everyone and spent a lot of time with us beyond a short appearence. Once the Braves left in 1978, they were my rooting interest every year. Texas Rangers - Frank Howard was this massive Paul Bunyan character who was traded from the world champ Dodgers to the worst team in baseball, the Washington Senators (who lasted just 11 years). Howard led the AL in HR's a couple years and could hit it 500 feet when he got a hold of his pitch. I saw a news special on him early where he did a ton for kids and was insanely popular. Team Moved to Arlington TX in 1972. He hit the last HR in D.C. and the first in Arlington. I met him at a card show some 35 years ago and was just in awe of the man. A gentle soul. Texas finally wins the title last month as Howard passes away right after game 3 at age 87.
  2. Doucet was the best.
  3. I see the 2pm meds feeding is late at the hospital.
  4. Pratice faceoffs and clearing out bodies in front of your goalie. That would be better than shuffling lines...shuffling deck chairs on the Titanic.
  5. Press conferences.. coaches shows... pre-game shows..Bills daily show One Bills Live...WGR radio talk. Game does all the talking.
  6. I believe many have been on the right track in their posting. Young talent is here. Progress in their development of a complete game is lacking. Stuck on a lower level. Someone needs to come in with a diffent scheme and push them harder. Might be they are being too patient now and a bit coddled.
  7. He's too busy printing off 7 year 50 Mil contracts to hand out multiple players, whether earned or not.
  8. Gramma Mora's has a good mexican pie. 😃
  9. This. Too many players who avoid the physical game and won't play 200 ft. Outright gutless many nights.
  10. It's made progress in finding talent but needs more . Where they need improvement is teaching players how to play a 200 ft. game and become more physical. Don't know if the current coach has that in him, with the team not improving in those areas. Easily pushed around.
  11. That seems ambitious now. Free falling..
  12. Will always be my hockey hero. Family had seasons in the 1st row of Blues at the old aud, right on one of the blue lines. The second he got the puck, you could hear the entire crowd react with anticipation. A human highlight reel. Autographed a pic for me his rookie year. HB!
  13. Bills continue to beat themselves. It's only going to get worse with that imposing schedule. Maybe they need the beatdowns to end all the denial and excuses to change. McDermott looks badly outcoached most games.Josh is a turnover machine in a league where one score can determine the outcome. Ball security be damned. Play out the schedule to see who can help going forward. Beane and McDermott got extended and that might not have been wise. May have peaked and now a mini-rebuild coming. More of the same means .500 football. Players may be tone deaf to McDermott, I fear. They now move to the also ran catagory and are no longer a threat. Glad I'm old enoough to remenber 1965 as a kid. Thought we would have more success throughout the years but here we are. I can only hope to live long enough to see another good run.
  14. So NHL champs Vegas at the White House. Biden keeps calling Kamala Harris " President Harris " during ceremony. Did he quit ?
  15. Oh brother...LOL Why woul;d anyone waste time proving you wrong. You made your point. No issues.
  16. I'll be highly impressed if they can get a point tonight, let alone a win.
  17. Not so much hurting...but he's slow to process the speed around him quite often when the opposition attacks. I like his size and he makes some good passes. Yet he's got a ton to improve on and I'm still quite surprised they gave him the larger deal instead of a bridge contract. That was way too soon but here we are. I laughed when someone posted Joker has the privledge of playing with him. Holy deity. He's not there yet. Not even close.
  18. Lots to still work on. Faceoffs comes to mind.
  19. He's playing better than a lot of our regulars.
  20. Beane work Spotrac cap figs for 2024 with savings. The key is to the right right. Cap hit minus lower dead cap = savings. What the final cap fig is to be determined. So Where are the possible savings for 2024 at present ? Some contracts could be redone, I get that. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/buffalo-bills/cap/2024/ Current targets with savings T. White - 6 Mil Taron Johnson - 7.6 Mil Morse - 11.5 Mil Poyer - 5.5 Mil N.Hines - 5 Mil Harty - 4 Mil other smaller savings near the bottom (lower salaries) Others like Knox and Von Miller come up in 2025. So the Bills could still sign some needed help in Vet FA, prior to the draft. Douglas trade was a 3rd rounder (received back a 5th) but they get a 3rd round comp for Edmunds. So they siill pick at least once in all 7 rounds with 2 picks in Round 5 and 4 picks in round 6... Which means lots of trading around on Day 2-3 of the draft for specific targets, little doubt.
  21. No QB to set things up. No plan at all. It's killing them. They have such a small margin for error. Faceoffs..PP...lack of success means .500.
