  1. Our other defensemen didn't know what Stillman was doing when he moved forwards out of UPL's crease.
  2. Both teams had lots of chances. Surprised it's still scoreless.
  3. So twice so far, Spillamn has rode forwards out of the crease. A first for our D core this year.
  4. Can I ask what UFA's will be available this summer on D ?
  5. Paul Hamilton was correct. Said he believed little would happen now because Adams decided to play the long game. Make deals during the summer when all these UFA's are out there and more moves on draft weekend .
  6. I saw him up close in drills at Summer prospects camp at Harborcenter. Big but gave up rebounds. Didn't see "it" at all. Levi was quick and far better. No loss. He knew he wasn't wanted anymore.
  7. So last week North of Buffalo, we had an ice storm that turned our property into a skating rink. I had 3 cars in the driveway and a good foot of hard ice formed all around the cars. Refused to melt. My daughter and I went out today for a good couple hours and chopped the still melting ice with our warm weather. We have another storm coming Friday night with 8-12 inches of snow predicted. My snow blower would have been wrecked if I used it without clearing these rock hard mountains of ice all over my driveway. Glad it's finally done but I'm old and now sore as all hell from doing that.
  8. They over pass the puck so often at home, IMO. Just shoot the damn puck and charge the net. Quit being cute like it's after practice with no opposition.
  9. You did. Ted was very good until his illness kicked in. Like RJ, you ALWAYS knew where the puck was and the action was described with great detail. I agree that todays play by play people seem distracted and prone to blathering about too much other stuff other than the live action.
  10. NFL Combine in Indy going on. Mike (Francesa) and the Mad Dog ( Chris Russo ) pretty much launched talk radio In NYC years back and now thoudands of markets try the same thing. The shows are too long and much of it is talking about personal nonsense the listeners have no interest in. Filler. The hockey show with Biron and Duff on MSG is an hour and even they struggle to fill it, although they seem very in tune with all NHL teams. These 3-4 hour radio shows are terrible and unfocused babble dominates the majority of the time. Like posters above mentioned, listen to the podcasts that are available everywhere. WGR 550 has a link to many.
  11. That's how I felt about Andy Reid. 14 years in Philly. 1 SB Then KC and taking a chance on Mahomes. Hits the lottery. In todays game, it's ALWAYS the QB. No more Brad Johnson in Tampa or Trent Dilfer in Baltimore winning SB's with huge running games and big D. The obvious shift to the passing era canceled that, IMO. I'm sure he feels a little less confident in his long term stability than the previous couple years. Has a good one at QB and only so much time to advance deep into the playoffs. Fooling himself if he isn't open to some change.
  12. Which is what KA seems to be saying. He does keep talking about monitoring Andersons recovery time after each game he plays as reasoning for playing the other 2.
  13. Hate the call ins. They should submit questions and have the on-air guys respond. The second a caller is on, I switch off. Waste of air time.
  14. His underlying metrics haven’t been great the past two seasons. His teams have allowed 58 percent of the high-danger scoring chances with him on the ice at five-on-five, according to Natural Stat Trick. But those teams were the Blackhawks and Canucks, two underwhelming defensive teams. Defensive stats are rarely earned by one player. Stillman had better metrics when he played in Florida, and the Sabres are hoping to surround him with better teammates who could bring out that version of him. That's the rest of the Athletic comment. Not just the critical part.
  15. Like many young guys, Peterka has hit a bump. Long term, I still like him and he showed some very promising flashes. Nothing wrong with Rochester and putting on some muscle. Could be a different player next season. A keeper. Kulich needs to grow into his body. Young and doing well at his level. No reason to rush. He's 18.
  16. Nor does anyone else. Yes, he's an insurance policy. A very minor transaction. It's to avoid a D callup from Rochester, . He'll probably be thrown in the lineup at some point to replace someone that is banged up. Meanwhile, they may be trying to do something else. Not hard to figure.
  17. Why don't we wait to hear more from the team before pretending we have knowledge.
