Mark and Mike Supples were bartenders at Mulligans. I started hanging out there in 1979 with 2 of my good friends working there. Pink Flamingo opened and Mark had to borrow the $ from his family. He did well with Mothers on Virginia but the Pink Flamingo got him going. Will miss that place. Yes, it was one of a kind but a great bar. RIP with some of my earlier haunts now gone, like the Park Meadow, Rude Boys and the Masthead.

My wife has been teaching 34 years. 2 masters degrees. She deserves every penny she makes. Puts in long hours and has a box full of thank you letters for her efforts throughout her career. Loves her job to this day. I retired 7 years ago as a Network Adm. Worked my backside off in college and the military. My 2 adult daughters have good jobs . I sleep well at night.

Great thread indeed. Feel free to correct but there's a small lake 6 miles from Lake George. Grey Lake ? Six Flags Great Escape is right next to it. Took the kids their a couple times in their youth years back, I would watch folks travel down the lake in pontoon party boats and dock at a restaurant where they would bring the food right to the boat. Great Escape has the old Comet from Crystal Beach rebuilt in the water park. Almost crapped my pants revisiting my youth. But the lake is out of a postcard beautiful and I loved that place.

The problem with NY State isn't teachers salaries. It's welfare and all the giveaway programs. I deal with it but that's what needs to be addressed. Productive workers.

It's easy to live in WNY in my opinion. I traveled a lot in the military during my younger days. Didn't like the south at all. Worked in San Diego for a few years and that was expensive. Upon returning, bought a nice house. Paid it off 25 years ago. Get a VA discount on taxes. Get a bad storm every 10 years. Most of my winters are mild now, compared to youth. Summers here are outstanding. Perfect temp. Lots to do for my lifestyle. To each their own. We all have different lives.

Happy Fathers Day to the Dads. My daughters ( adults ) are taking me to dinner later. Mom just had surgery and is recovering at the hospital. Will visit her for a while first. I will smoke a good cigar on my deck later and watch golf on the laptop.
