The biggest point is since all the walking (or not walking) injured has returned, this team is actually playing decent hockey. Not to mention we had a super brutal stretch against all playoff teams. For once i see the light at the end of the tunnel and it is NOT a train. With a few roster moves, IMHO, we should have a team that can get us to some meaningful hockey late in the season.

I think you are partially correct. Special K broke this team. He was forcing a square peg in his own round hole. He was not grooming or making players better, he was forcing players to play his own system with zero capability of seeing anything but HIS System. Granato is taking what he has been given and is grooming them to a system that allows for their individual strengths to grow while developing a structured system around them. Lack of real already there talent and major injuries to our vet players brought all of this to a screaming halt as we were barely putting anything more then a glorified AHL team on the ice every day. Now that the team is mostly whole they are growing by leaps and bounds and talent that was stoppered by special K is showing up again. Bringing up solid talent that is NHL ready from the Amerks helps replace fringe players on our roster. If you really think about it, this team is a young gun, pic N Save team that is now somewhat keeping up with the Jonas' (Great commercial). BTW not trying to be added into the disagreement, just saying hello and throwing my 4 cents in....

2 Things..... Great win!!! Mets win, Amerks win, LA wins, and Preds win!!! UPL may not be the next coming as we all thought a year ago, but i believe he will still be a good NHLer. Right now he has ZERO defense in front of him and their system there is lacking. Give him the Sabres top 4 and i think he will do great things.

Ok, so i am late to the thread, but IMHO, best as being the smartest and getting the most from what he has been handed...... absolutely.... hands down! He does not hamstring himself to one general way of doing things, but has a progressive positive approach where he seems to get the best of anyone that he is given and maybe even a bit more. He has resurged the careers of almost half the team since our last idiot almost destroyed them. He handles players like actual people and gets them to elevate not only themselves but other players around them. Do not think you can ask for anything else from a coach at this time!! The real test to this will be when they eventually get into a playoff hunt or playoff game. How does he get the team to play then..... then you will know.

No. Not sure if you are being serious or sarcastic....LOL The Sullivans are named after 5 brothers that all passed when the ship (Not boat) sank. This also started the rule that that at least 1 male child has to be left at home if there is a draft/war so that the family name can continue. As for fixing the ship, a serious amount of deflooding and patchwork would have to take place just to right the ship. I would assume if they closed the watertight doors (If they even are still watertight) they could deflood the compartments one at a time, until they came upon the compartment where the water was entering the hull.

Tage has finally gotten great confidence to utilize the tools he has always had. Is he better then Jack? Uhhhh no. Jack can be a 100 pt player, Tage cannot. Although, that could change next year, but as of now, Tage is better, but he is not better then Jack. I am happier to have a good Tage though then an immature whiney Jack who cannot lead and pouts when things do not go his way.

I do not hate Eichel, he is a very incredibly skilled player who was 100% not ready for what the Sabres needed him to be. Is he a douche? Yeppers! A butthurt one to boot! But getting the better draft pick by Vegas not making the playoffs is a nice help as this year is a decent draft. Eventually Eichel will grow up and be a very likable player again. Until then, would love to see a 2 picks in the top 15 this year!

As much as TT boy is one of my faves, i would wait until we see if he continues next season. If he keeps it up, then i would reward him at the end of NEXT season. As much as some thought he had the talent to score like this, need to show it a bit more before i throw the cash at him. On another note, the Sabres had the autograph helmet for a donation to Roswell i believe and TT is who i got.

Any additional top 15 pick we get is going to help this team in the long run. With all the assets we have (Cap space and picks) it will eventually benefit the Sabres, KA is not stupid and actually seems to be building correctly and does not seem like he will mortgage the farm for a stupid move. Vegas is definitely on their way to NOT making the playoffs and that will help us out.

Girardi, from what NYC sports is saying that he is being offered an Assistant spot on the Rags. Hope he stays though.

I am totally ok with Granato..... Maybe talk to Quinn and see if he would be interested in an Associate coach spot.

Every year I pay for NHL TV on a month to month basis. I usually shut off right after Xmas so I end up saving cash every year when they are eliminated for the playoffs.

I may be in the Minority, but I think next season if we go back to normal gameplay we are (As we stand now) not in as bad of shape as most would think. Our kids were playing against mostly a division of playoff teams and held their own and played pretty well again the teams that were not. With normal year scheduling, we would not be stuck playing 80% of our games against possibly top 10 teams. Our net minding will be a bit more solidified, hopefully, and whether we have Jack, Sam and Risto, we will have pieces that should be able to used next year. Quite a few of our kids have shown they can play against top competition and fair well and even score against it. I am 100% not saying we are a playoff team, but as set, they will be competitive and fun to watch. As long as management does NOT mismanage this offseason, we do have some hope for a fun year next year.

I think you have a 24 entitled kid that wants what he wants and anything that is not that is a disconnect. I honestly believe the Buffalo Sabres are doing the right thing and trying to protect their asset, which is Eichel. Eichel can "posture" and say what he wants, which Adams acknowledged, but when push comes to shove, the Sabres hold the cards here. If anything Eichel should be quiet and wait until next year when his NMC kicks in. I still believe Eichel is an asset to the Sabres, But, if Adams decides it is time to move on from the the "Losing Crew" of Eichel, Sam and Risto, then I am all in and he should rake the most of what we can get which would still help this team if done right.

I have to say, being a Sabres fan is never ever boring. I would not let either Jack or Sam go.... we own them, make them play and earn their way off this team. Trading Jack now would hurt this team in many ways. Mend the breach and tell him to get better, come back 100% and play well. If things go south we can trade him to a playoff team or greener pasture. Sam is going to put it all on the ice next season as he is playing for a contract. Only benefits us.

We have control of Sam.... keep him this year and do the signings right and put a decent cast around him. We also have control of Jack. again, same scenario. Get our crap together and do this all right.

Can you really blame some of the players for saying what they are saying? All they have known is losing, and it is not even competitive losing.

Wouldn't if be the ***** if Tokarski plays the rest of the season rock solid and we end up with a late bloomer guy that can actually win games for us? Although even if that happened, the Minder situation needs to be fixed for next season. Going into next season with Ullmark and Tokarski would be a fail in my book. Ullmark is becoming "Glass Joe" and we need someone that can be counted on.

This team has nothing to prove but to themselves and their coaches. I say let the hounds of hell loose and lets see what we have. This is an extended preseason for next year and there is still pride in the kids.

NESN is the worst NHL Broadcast. They can be getting throttled 20-1 and their team is the end all be all....LOL No bigger Homers in the NHL.

The only leverage we had over Hall was to keep him and let him stew in Buffalo. Was KA at fault and got swindled? Possibly. Did he do all that he could? I thiunk he did the best he could. He is in a position of power with little or no help. He got as many picks as he could and has publicly said we need a bigger scouting Dept. I do not have major issues with a first time GM making some mistakes. It happens. It is whether he learns from them and can make the team better.
