Montana and Brady never had great physical measurables. They just thought the game at an elite level. Benson is similar. None of his measurables stand out but his brain lets him process and understand the game at an elite level. He just makes others better. I forget which hockey person said that whatever line Benson is on becomes the best line. His ability to strip pucks and read and intercept plays would make him a valuable player even if he didn’t produce offence which he does. Give him a year or two to fill out and get more accustomed to the league and he will be a real force.

Benson is the real deal. Play him with the top guys. If there was anyway to get rid of Skinner they should do it. Such a disaster defensively. But I don’t see that happening.
