Apparently Calvert was at the rookie tournament for the Sabres last year and played for the Pens in this past one. So he was on the Sabres radar at one point. If I was him though I would sign in Pittsburgh right now as they have few prospects and he would rise up the prospect list quickly in that organization.

Atley Calvert is a 6 foot 193 lb right handed centre who has been playing with Savoie in Moose Jaw. He is undrafted and has put up 45 goals and 92 points this season. I wonder if he is someone they consider signing and taking a flyer on. He’s a pretty good player.

Watching the Wings and Seider they desperately need a Byram for Seider. How they get that I don’t know. Getting a quality centre is difficult. Getting a young top pairing dman is next to impossible. I like Mitts but this deal had to be made 10 out of 10 times.

Hopefully he works out better then that other Jets backup that had a good statistical season and then got a 2 year deal from another team.😜

What is this based on?

5 Game Road Trip w/ 1 Back-to-Back. Can UPL play them all?
Flashsabre replied to JoeSchmoe's topic in The Aud Club
3.91 1-7-0 .864 but yeah let’s worry about his feelings at this point. -
Neuchev and Novikov seem to be coming along for their first years in North American hockey.

Thank You. I wish I could get paid $1.8 million to be a useless as Comrie has been this season.

5 Game Road Trip w/ 1 Back-to-Back. Can UPL play them all?
Flashsabre replied to JoeSchmoe's topic in The Aud Club
I mentioned in another thread that Levi should be on the trip. Comrie cannot play a game if they are serious about making a push. -
Seider hasn’t taken the same step yet. Dahlin by a large margin at the moment for me. Seider has all the tools you would look for in a prototypical number 1 RHD but is still a work in progress. Not much support on that Detroit D corps right now either. The question I have is how many D pairings around the league would people take over Dahlin-Byram moving forward. (I know it is a very small sample size so far)

Will KA give up on the fallacy of veterans that "know how to win"?!
Flashsabre replied to JoeSchmoe's topic in The Aud Club
He means he is no longer bringing in Eric Staal and Eric Johnson to be leaders. Guys past their prime but with the hope they will magically show the kids the way. Every move now will be focused on players that can help the team win games. He will bring in vets but guys that can still play at a high level and help the team win. -

Adams addressed this after the deadline. He said he is done with bringing in vets to be leaders. All his additions will be to help the team win games. -
On the NHL Network Boyle did a thing in the Sabres. Talked about the Byram pickup and how important it was. Talked about UPL really coming into his own. Said he is close with Thompson and that Tage has had a hand/wrist issue all year that has effected his shooting and stick handling.

I would call Levi up for the west coast trip. Can’t play Comrie even one game. -

That was an absolute hell of an effort from puck drop to end of game. The last two games this team has played has been tremendous. This team can defend. The positioning and backchecking has been great. The frustrating part is Buffalo is a better team than all the teams around them. Keep it rolling Saturday guys! -
I haven’t seen any updates. Any chance he could be back for the stretch drive? What a shot in the arm that would be if could find his way back.

Message board 101: there’s always something to complain or bitch about😃 No good players, Not enough good players to compete, Too many good players will mess up the cap and these imaginary windows will close.

The salary cap will continue to rise. All teams have to make decisions on roster decisions on a yearly basis. A Dahlin-Byram-Power led backend would be gold. You then backfill with 3 lower paid men that fill roles. I think Byram is a core piece moving forward UPL-Levi should give them very good goaltending for a couple years until you will have to make a financial decision on one or the other. Decisions have to be made but who knows what the future holds. Maybe they trade Tage in 2 years cause things don’t work out or other moves work out better. Skinner’s cap will come off the books one way or another as well. Im just enjoying the ride of the big 3 on D right now and UPL coming into his own.

Lindstrom’s injury situation is interesting. They thought he would be back mid February but is still out of the picture. Giant Russian DMan is Silayev, Coyotes are already up at the stage just waiting to pick him😛 Outside the top 5 I didn’t see anything the Sabres don’t already have in the system or on the team. That’s why I would put the pick up this year to get a ready now impact player.

Arizona seems like a good trade match. A lot of options that would help the forward group that could be moved: Crouse, Kerfoot, Bjustad, O’Brien
