How he only got five minutes game play Is ridiculous.
Especially with the guys playing in front of him but the old NHL adage of vet pecking order.

Pens bounced in the first round again. Burke/Hextall now in charge. Will Sullivan survive? If he gets axed I wonder how strong the relationship is with Karmanos.

I Demand that if the Sabres draft Power that they play this video to announce the pick.😃

Can’t wait to read that every single pick in the draft is a “potential steal” because of the circumstances around the draft this year. That won’t get old at all.🥴

Trading for McDavid would be a bad move. It would take Eichel++ so instead of a team not deep enough to sniff the playoffs with Eichel, you have McDavid and even less depth. I’m sure he would be THRILLED here under the current situation.

If the results are building new they should build them together on a single piece of land, even connected, or one giant facility with both housed within, sharing parking space. Easier said then done, finding a piece of land that makes sense.

He definitely would not have been on the Sabres draft board. He plays in the CHL.
Hopefully that changes with Karmanos. Ignoring the CHL, the primary developer of top talent, is ridiculous. If it doesn’t change then the mandate is from Terry to go USA hockey all the way. I am surprised they snuck Cozens through😜
I did like Zellweger at the U18s.

I want to add I took a dive on power Power after March. He really seemed to come into his own as the Ncaa season progressed. I think his size has him slightly over valued but Power brings an interesting skillset.
Remember too that Power missed out on the WJCs and the Frozen Fours, 2 events that really would have showed his stuff and been great development events for him. Because of the craziness of this year I think whoever takes Power should let him go back to Michigan or the AHL for the season.

Have to say, watching a bit of Powers, I will no longer be upset if the Sabres draft him
yes, it will eventually cause a logjam at LHD but having Dahlin and Powers on the ice 45 mins per game may not be the worst thing in the world.
if he’s the BPA. Take him. Figure out the line-up laterI’m glad he is getting a last chance to show his stuff. Michigan wouldn’t let him go to the WJCs (he must of been thrilled watching Beniers play for U.S.) and then Michigan gets pulled from the Frozen Four at the last second for Covid. Those would have been two huge stages to see him play.
This is a year when no one knows who the right pick is. Everyone has their opinion but they don’t know. If Buffalo gets 1st pick I have no problem with Power.

Classic message board mentality:
Talk of trading Eichel to another team: you will get nothing in return, you will be shocked how little you get. All teams top pieces will be off the table.
Talk of trading for McDavid: You can throw everything at them, every single piece you have for the next 5 years and it won’t even be a fraction of enough.
We are not trading for McDavid but the mentalities are hilarious. Of course McDavid is the better player but the two franchises are prime examples of hoping for a saviour to lead you to the promise land without properly building a good team around them.

Just a fun hypothetical.
What would you give up on top of Eichel for McDavid if both wanted out this off-season?

This is like flexing on the guy who stole your girl, married her, and has a kid with her. ***** congrats! ROR didn't win the cup and conn smythe like he did IMMEDIATELY after the Sabres traded him for used toilet paper.
It was almost like I was joking. I thought the 😜 made it obvious. But yeah, I was just joking.

ROR guaranteed Blues would beat Avs. Avs sweep them 4 straight. Good riddance.😜

Power has looked good in back to back games on a bad team. Hopefully they start to increase his ice time. Just keep him away from Colin Miller😜

Worrying about failing in the playoffs is a problem I would kill to have.
Haven’t been to the playoffs in 10 years, advocating not picking a coach because of his playoff record.🤣
If he can get us even a sniff of the playoffs, SIGN HIM UP.😀

Gallant has Team Canada humming!!
Sweden is 0-2. With the pandemic, teams are icing their C lineups.

Totally agree. Gallant has been my preferred choice since he was fired by Vegas.
Why was he fired by Florida and Vegas though? Both were surprise firings. The rumours are that he is very hard to deal with and ignores analytics. Rumours, not facts, but interesting that he was fired while his teams were both successful on the ice at that time.

Hes playing vs weaker opponents and Apparently they counted on him to be the star of the team because he was Projected the 1st line centre and then got benched .
willing to give him a pass this game will see how he does next game
Huh, Finland is not weak and no one had him projected at 1st line centre.
USA v Canada will be fun even though both have bad lineups.
You are all in on Guenther but what are your thoughts if they go Power or Clarke with the pick?

How much of a kickback are you getting if the Sabres draft him?😜
-
2 minutes ago, Buffalonill said:
Thats not true he got benched because of the 2 goals and the total of 4 mins he played
Like I said it's probably because of rust
The one Petersen kicked in his own net Beniers was in great defensive position and did his job. The other goal deflected in off Boyle’s stick, I don’t think Beniers was on the ice.
Either way, I thought he was fine. Let the tournament play out. And you can’t possibly compare Power and Beniers playing in the Men’s WCs to Guenther playing in the U18s. That is ridiculous.
If the Sabres hadn’t drafted Quinn last year then I wouldn’t mind Guenther at all but back to back high picks on RW seems redundant. But I won’t be upset if they pick him and honestly we have no idea what is going to happen.
Is everyone coming back and they hire a vet coach like Boudreau. Is everyone being traded and they are doing a hard rebuild? This might effect who they pick if they get young prospects back in trades.
So many moving parts it is hard to tell who they might lean towards, especially not even knowing where they will pick yet; 1,2 or 3.

Why would he?

It could be just rust will see
Your tying yourself up in knots trying to crap on Beniers. Draft eligible players in Men’s WHCs don’t usually dress let alone play a regular shift.
Guenther didn’t even get asked to Canada, is that a bad look? Your precious Raty didn’t even get asked to Finland, is that a bad look?
Beniers looked like he belonged out there, that is all you are looking for. Power bet limited minutes for Canada but looked like he belonged too.

So does matthew beniers go down in your rankings after this game ?
Why would he?
At this point the only guy I am not really interested in is Edvinsson because I question his hockey sense.
Power, Clarke, Beniers, Hughes, Eklund and yes even Guenther I can live with.
-
Petersen kicked the winning goal into his own net. Glad he didn’t sign here.😜

Anyone think Gallant is an option to talk to?
Adams watches his Team Canada lose 2-0 to Latvia and slowly crosses him off the list.😜

I like McTavish but 2nd is silly. The rest of those guys are pretty much interchangeable.
At #1 I think Sabres take Power. Number 2 will be fascinating if that is where they pick. So many different ways to go.
