Yes, healthy scratch. I think the reality with Laaksonen is that he’s essentially a PP specialist who can’t play any defense. He’s very soft in his own end. Belleville was a big and physical team. Utica isn’t much different, so I don’t think we’ll see him, especially if Samuelsson and/or Davidson return against Utica.

He hasn’t played since driving a forward into UPL and taking him out.

It’s a bummer, because Binghamton lost their team, and they are a classic, great AHL town.

I went to a game in Belleville a few year ago. Felt like a high school game. They were selling snacks from card tables. The people were nice, though.

They have fixed it up for the AHL. Real nice fan zone with a bar, couple higher end concession stands. Perfect size arena for the AHL.

  3. Was at the game tonight. Some thoughts:

    - I give credit to the d corps. They moved the puck well and took some big hits to make plays

-Dell had some good saves but he got some breaks that he gets away with in the AHL but the NHL players would eat him up on. He totally lost his angle on the face off goal.

-Belleville just didn’t have the high end skill to be difference makers. Especially up front where they just grind.

-R2 was a difference maker. Krebs was great with the puck on his stick. JJ battles. I would like to see Quinn assert himself more. He wasn’t bad but he can do more. He almost finished it in OT.

-Nice to see R2 and Murray hook up for the winner after R2 missed on the breakaway and Murray had a brutal turnover that Dell bailed him out on.

-being there live and up close it is amazing how much quicker it is then when watching on tv.

-Amerks blocked a ton of shots.

-hopefully Muel can play next series. Fitzgerald makes a big difference, Muel would even more.

-Good crowd. Nice arena to watch, love the Olympic ice. Belleville has always been a huge hockey town. Glad they got the Sens after losing the Bulls to Hamilton.

I would completely ignore css rankings. Nazar won't be there at 16.

We're talking about ppl who have Maverick Lamereoux above Nazar... that's a special kind of laughable.

I’m not a big Nazar guy but that is utterly ridiculous. At worst he should be right where Geekie is ranked.

I can't stand that they always separate  NA and Euro skater rankings. Like they don’t have the stones to do the work and make one list and combine the rankings.

Because there was the unlikelihood there would be a clear answer on this front, or an answer in which Adams would merely say they'll get there.

I asked a similar question a summer ago, and it went nowhere and, in the end, the Sabres got above the cap floor. I don't spending $20 million is going to be too big of a lift this offseason. And I think it's best they stay closer to the floor at this point then start throwing money at players. The future is bright, but expensive, and that has to be taken into account if this core is going to continue being together.

Two and three years down the road, there's going to be some difficult decisions going to have to be made if the team maintains this trajectory.

    Thanks for answering my question😀

  6. @johnwawrow, why did none of the reporters ask Kevyn how he planned on spending the $20 million this team’s needs to spend to get to the cap floor next season. It was the one question I wanted answered and the one I thought would be asked. Even if Kevyn just gave a word salad it would give us some indication of his mindset on this.

It's worth mentioning in here that Rousek played well yesterday. The obivous play is that he got the perfect feed from JJ to score the first Amerks goal, but he was also noticeable throughout the game in a positive way. When he first came back from injury, I didn't exactly have a positive outlook on him. In fact, I thought he was awful at first.

I kind of forgot this is his first season in North America, he's coming off ACL surgery (where he wasn't originally expected to play at all this season), and he just turned 23. I am looking forward to seeing how he plays through the rest of the playoffs and next season. I don't expect him to be a superstar, but it should be an interesting storyline nonetheless.

Coming off of ACL I doubt he has his full wheels back yet either. Kid can fly.

  8. Body language looks a bit different then the Sabres end of season PCs.

I just posted it for you guys. I could care less about Jack and Vegas anymore. I am more then happy with what Tuch, Krebs have brought to the organization, the 1st is a much better pick then I anticipated it being and there is a 2nd next year too.
