Someones gotta send some salary back in that deal. Like the kings have to send back quick... probably carter... maybe even dustin brown. Rangers couldn't fit both with panarin and kreider. Maybe next year after a lot of buyout money comes off the books - but they don't want or need skinner with the wings they have.

At this point - i think he's been given a mandate. Maybe its playoffs or bust? I'm not sure... but he's doing this because he thinks its best for his team and for his success.

That line needs a winger who will drive play and put the puck on net - mitts so far has been doing that. You're only playing 10-12 minutes, the energy line needs to show energy. Finish checks, put pucks on net, get to dirty areas and make it hard for the other team. The point shots with this line on the ice need to be screened, and they need to play a simple game. I'm not sure Skinner is the best guy for this - he needs to play on a different line.

If they want to sneak in the playoffs i assume ullmarks gotta play almost every game. He's in a tough spot. He's not on PP1 like VO, he doesn't kill penalties (which they need if rieder is out ie. asplund), he's not a center, and he's not a shutdown type of player (i don't see it either, but thats kruegers assumption of Eakin/okposo). He should be on the top 2 lines, but hall and VO have those spots. I wouldn't really tough the hall-staal-cozens line, and i don't know where else you can put oloffson where his shot would be remotely useful. So you're not benching eakin/lazar because they're centers. You don't want to take out rieder/asplund and sheahan becasue of penalty kills (if you sit rieder/asplund, you're putting okposo or someone like cozens out there for PKs). So you're left with okposo and mitts. Mitts has put in good shifts in the time skinner's been in the press box, and okposo plays "the right way". It seems dumb, but with mccabe gone, and jack seeming to struggle to find his own game - Okposo has the A and i think RK values (probably overvalues) that.

2 - I feel like they let you get away with this quite a bit if its close. 3 - Depends on the player, Jack with the long stick and the quick shot needs to be positioning his body to pass and ripping the shot though. You should have your eyes on the goalie though to see what hes doing.

People hate on okposo (justifiably), but this is one thing he's always doing if he has the puck on a change. He dumps, and depending on the length of shift, he'll chase to give everyone time, then hit the bench after.

I guess I think guys like Belichick and Parcells are good coaches, who often clashed with media and offered little in limited media interactions. I know Bill is on like a radio show periodically, but he's always been rather tight lipped about his players.

Disagree. I think a good coach... leads and coaches his team. Not the media and fans. This is an insanely toxic hockey market at this point, they're hanging on every word.

Bill Belichick is a HOF coach who literally says "on to ____" after a loss, and refers to a lot of players by their numbers. I guess some would say he's earned the right to answer the media that way. Do we want him to publicly drag Skinner in the media for whatever it is? Do we want him questioning the heart of our captain? Probably not. I'd rather the issues (if any), stay hidden.

Yeah - I thought borgen did a nice job of just getting him the puck in a position where he can effectively handle the breakout.

Rob ray - i watch games and can't stand the guy. I also served him once in catering and he was kind of pompous.

I think id like to see a bit of fire. I don't think you celebrate but you circle it up and get after it a bit more. Not... skate around unhappily and courtesy fist bump your linemates.

I do think he benched tage for a few shifts after that panic pass into the middle.

Can we even trade skinner? Botts gave him a full NMC. I don't think he wants to be here though, so he'd probably be open to a change of scenery and Seattle would probably be the only team with a hint of interest based on what comes with him.

Eichel had 24 even strength goals last year in the same system. What has changed?

He does have a full no trade clause though. I think he'll waive it - but its limiting in who we'd be able to trade with.

He's got the C. Needs to put on his big boy pants and get to work. Krueger/Adams can get fired and you'd be standing there on coach number i dunno 4, and GM 4? He's like a Towns in minnesota (NBA) - stats and highlight reel plays, a "superstar". But the team always stinks (i know he's missed time this year). They trade wiggins for russell (whos like towns best friend) - and now wiggins is playing a role with the warriors. Towns will probably get his 4th coach, but what does he care? He's got his max contract. When its over he'll go sign with the celtics or lakers or something. Could say the same for stafford in Detroit... he wasn't the problem entirely - but his massive contract indicates he needs to be the man, and the man needs to elevate the team. If you're so good to justify that deal, why does the team lose more than they win? I think Jack would be smart to avoid the diva reputation, play out the string - and sign with someone else when its all over. The trade demand might not go anywhere, and it only harms you in contract negotiations in the future.

The nice thing is... all of your games count extra. Dropping 4 points to the islanders, while getting 0 isn't great though.

Skinner played about 5 periods with jack and they scored 0 goals and honestly it was the worst jack looked all season. The 3rd period he got moved down for thompson, and that line seemed to have some chances. Oloffson also seemed to play sloppier with skinner. THANK YOU! He's a mess in the neutral zone too. Do we just have to find a coach who will let skinner do skinner things and keep him happy? Why can't the guy just play friggin hockey? He's not drawing penalties anymore, hes shooting from outside, he's not in position for rebounds, he's not a great passer, and now he can't shoot anywhere but directly into the goalie. He's a disaster to watch. I don't want him on Jacks line.

He hasn't even coached a full seasons worth of games....
