Those guys were maniacs - basically playing on a parking lot with a thin layer of fabric laid on top.

Just the light beer advertised there, I think.

Screamers are the cream ale. Yowza.

Went into our local package store a couple months ago and saw a stack of 30-can cartons of Genny Cream Ale (yes, 'Screamers'). Seeing that in MA is like seeing a polar bear in Florida. Bought a carton on general principle.

I took it to mean he was hurt blocking 9 shots in the last game and couldn't get through practice.  If that's the case, why *wouldn't* you sit him for Lil'J?

Agree on Johnson (the younger one). If he's not going to be in the lineup send him down so he can play every game. Obviously he goes on a western road trip if he's the 7th D-man but the team has been in Buffalo (an hour away?) since Thursday night.

We don't know if he was out there today. He isn't doing line rushes most likely but no idea if he skated in the morning skate or not.

Bigger news is that Samuelsson left the skate early and might not play tonight. A 100% healthy R Johnson is better than a 60-70% Samuelsson IMPO.

JFC. The guy is hurt in the morning skate? I like Muel but this is ridiculous.

The shear irony in this game is incredible.  On the Chiefs side, their complaining about a 5 yard penalty, that was clearly a penalty to define the loss is comical when less than 10 months ago, the won the Superbowl on a questionable penalty that in fact confirmed the win. As noted above, they had three other chances to get into FG range.
On the Buffalo side, we were waiting for a 2 minute drive defensive meltdown, which has been the only reason this team was not 9-3 coming into this game. And we saw it.  The blitz decision (and execution thereof) yielded one of the all time greatest plays to go ahead late in the game.  Except in the record books it never happens, but for what I can only describe as a Billsian blunder.  This type of error could only happen to our team right?  But yet it not only happened to another team, it happened to them, against us, helping preserve a victory.  Seriously ironic *****. Maybe a cosmic thing happened on Sunday where we all transported to the Bizzaro world.

Happy the Bills got a W, but would have liked to see it done in a cleaner and less controversial way.

I think from above Frank Wycheck was determined not to lose claim to the 'greatest lateral by a TE in the history of football'.

Sorry @Punch. Just got to your subsequent post. 🤐

I get Mahomes' frustration at the end of the game.  A very rare penalty likely cost them the game.  But hadn't he or Andy seen a replay before they got to podium?  Didn't he think, "damn, I didn't realize that he was that offsides!"

The neutral zone is 11" or so, and his foot and helmet were in line with the Bills' end of the ball.  He's further down field than his center!

The line judge could not see the ball because Toney was blocking his line of sight.

McD gets a W.  He was under intense pressure this week, he talked about getting great support from the community in the post game interview.   Seems genuine to me.

McD's reaction when that 4th down pass fell incomplete was reminiscent of OJ's reaction when Judge Ito announced 'Not Guilty'. Seriously. He knew what was coming if the Bills blew that lead in KC.

We're Buffalo sports fans, we've more than earned that right to b I t c h and complain.

In case your not aware, and I find it hard to believe you aren't, we've been s h I t on for half a century now. So instead of whining about the whining, why not just accept the reality of the fan base and move along.

Thanks @Scottysabres. creative way to bypass the naughty word filter. I’ll give it a try going forward! 👍

I'd add that his postgame presser "word salad" gibberish sounds more Kreuger-like with each game.  Just a bunch of empty words and he never admits any personal responsibility for the team's performance.  What doesn't help are the constant "softballs" that he gets from the Buffalo media.

This is interesting. For the most of DG's tenure I found his pressers to be direct and to the point. Now? Not so much. 'Word salad' is the product of having no answers. That's scary. He's the Head Coach.

  9. Is there anything to point to that this team does consistently well? What traits does the team possess that makes it competitive? Setting aside all the well discussed deficiencies, the Sabres were at least supposed to be built to be fast and skilled. They aren’t particularly fast (or don’t play fast), and I think the skill is vastly overrated.

They’ve developed a close team culture, yes. But they need to figure out how to develop a winning culture. Fast. Changes are necessary. In the interim get these young kids out of there and let them experience some team success in Rochester because I see no path to the playoffs in Buffalo this season.
