His production is on the decline.  WR with his skill set typically fall off fast.  I wouldn’t be surprised is he’s the 3rd WR in Houston.

What do you know? You're just a hockey guy talkin football on a hockey forum. Am I doing that right?? 😃

  2. Trying to picture in my head how that will work. As I understand it .... 10 coverage guys from the kicking team are lined up on the receiving team's 40 yard line but the ball is being kicked off from the usual spot 25 yards behind those guys? Very odd. More, or fewer, kick-off returns?

    …

of course, he’ll be skating in Russia.

i watched Östlund a couple of weeks ago. He absolutely has top six potential. But, IMO, he’ll need a year, or even two years in Rochester.

I sat near Anton Wahlberg’s dad; he expects his boy in ROC next season - that’s based on what the Sabres want. I think Östlund will suit up with him. Anton needs to work on his skating, and depending on how quickly he works that out, he might be the answer to this thread. But … I expect he’ll need one year + with the Amerks.

I was watching Kris Baker’s prospects update the other day. Showed some clips of Poltapov in Russia. He threw 3 hard body checks in one shift. That would put him like, what, 5th on the Sabres for the season?

Beane is racking up the 1 year deals for depth players who have played a lot of snaps. Doing his best with the cap constraints.

The WR draft pool is insanely deep, which is great for a year when the Bills are drafting #28. Fans would lose their minds if they drafted another position in Round 1 but it might happen.

Combine (Gym short Olympics) speed king Worthy is 165 lbs.  He 's not even the best WR from Texas. We'll see.

Regarding the second point, I almost expect it to happen. All it will take is a bit of a WR run prior to the Bills pick and the usual over-valuation of a couple QB’s. One or two really good non-WR’s will get pushed down and BB won’t reach. If it’s a DL most fans will, indeed, lose their minds. In that scenario I can see Beane making a move up in the 2nd to get a WR he really likes.

Also agree on Worthy. Other than being really fast I don’t believe he has first round WR skills. And of secondary importance, he’d be totally useless in support of the outside run game.

Haha.  Ok.  Look, you’re obviously a Sabres guy trying to talk Bills.  It’s why I typically don’t talk football on this hockey forum because of guys like you.  But you clearly don’t pay attention or are a complete Diggs defender.
I’m not talking about him specifically asking for a trade.  I’m talking about him being dramatic and a pain in the arse of the Buffalo Bills.  I’m not going to get into every moment he’s had.  There’s been plenty.  Look them up yourself.
    You should stick to hockey.

GTFO with this crap. Go to The Stadium Wall with all the other highly enlightened Bills fans. Because, as you point out, Sabres fans know nothing about the Bills so why waste your time here..

He doesn't stop his brother from trashing your quarterback and team.

I think that's weird that he's cool with it

Diggs’ brother really doesn’t need to look very far at all to find a QB and team truly worthy of trashing.

  7. Caught the second half of the game. (Thanks @inkman for the tip re: free game on AHL.tv). Levi was fantastic. Was doing the save percentage math in my head as the shot totals were racking up. Hated to see that last Marlie goal with seconds left.
And because it’s been discussed previously, I found it interesting that the Amerks feed shows running shot totals but MSG does not.

  8. Re: Miller. We will quite likely see a much more impactful player this coming season, though not pre-Bills Von Miller because of age.

Several years ago I was told by a Sports Orthopedics professional something that has proven true with very, very few exceptions. When an athlete tears an ACL he (or she) can become functional within a year. But they don’t fully return to form until two years later.

Regardless, he’s done as a Bill after this coming season.

  9. Nothing to see here. BB has been careful to not push too much dead money into next year. Can’t see him exacerbating the problem by trading Diggs now or after June1. And the Bills aren’t exactly deep at WR - trading Diggs makes no sense. Totally agree with @That Aud Smell - Diggs is just an odd fellow.

  10. Don't know much about Samuel (the lesser). I guess Deebo wasn't available. 😄 And the Bills will surely take a WR in Day 1 or 2 as an immediate or near term #2.

However, all these weapons won't matter if the Bills don't have/get a competent (at minimum) replacement for Morse. I don't think there is one on the roster presently and the $ available for a FA have nearly dried up. But I'm sure Beane has a plan. He always seems to pull a rabbit out of his hat.
