  1. Been meaning to post this for over a week now re: Strbak. This is from Tony Gasparini, GM of Strbak's USHL team. Notably, Gasparini was a longtime scout in the LA Kings organization. (From The Athletic). “His biggest strength is competitiveness and willingness to engage himself in the game physically and defensively. He moves quite well,” Gasparini said. “And I do think there’s a secondary offensive element to his game because he does shoot it so well. He’s a very direct and assertive offensive player. He wants pucks to the net. But the primary of his game is going to be a shutdown, very hard and physical leader type defenseman with some secondary offence.” @LGR4GM does this fit the description of what you hoped Muel to be?
  2. LFG! Get ‘em before they get more healthy in a week. Finish them. Emphatically.
  3. Recently turned 68. Let’s get moving on that parade thing Bills/Sabres. I’m running out of time!
  4. That’s what I want to know. I keep waiting.
  5. Bold prediction for next week’s game. McDermott burns his first timeout just before the coin flip to discuss strategy
  6. Who let Ken Dorsey back in the coach’s booth?
  7. Rashly Douglas for HOF. Rasul. Friggin phone. Rashly???
  8. F*^%&ing wonderful. A page straight out of the Sabres playbook.
  9. Wishing everyone a merry Christmas and wonderful holiday season. Enjoy! P.S - the movie gifs are great.
  10. Agree completely. Shesterkin (or however the hell you spell his name) very rarely gets beat by shots he sees cleanly. The Sabres need to be in his grill and get a couple greasy goals. Robinson would certainly help in that regard. Otherwise VO will need to do it. 😀🙄 (I find humor in the absurd).
  11. So @Contempt had it in the right order. The way I originally listed them (helping hint) best to worst. +3, +2, +1, and -1. For the record, I used the players that seem to take the most heat on this board. And I couldn’t find the +/- for the people on your list. :-). Organizationally, I agree with you tho I would switch Appert and Ellis.
  12. Wrapping things at work up before the holiday weekend so I thought I'd start my first thread. I realize +/- is a maligned metric as to its usefulness but its simple. So, without looking, rank the following Sabres in +/- best to worst, through last night's game. The candidates: E Johnson, VO, Clifton, Power. I'll post the numbers later this evening but go ahead and peek after if you're curious. Surprising fact: only one of the four are minus on the season to date.
  13. Me too. And I remember thinking we had just seen the team's ceiling with TT at QB and Greg Roman as OC - which never was going to be near good enough.
  14. I hope they are next week!
  15. A running game. Who knew?
  16. Four actually, no? Avs, Rangers, Bruins, and now GK’s.
  17. It has been said that the NHL is an 80% league during the regular season. Benson seems to be a 105% player. I am concerned he will hit a wall around game 60 and find out why everyone else is at 80%. Should I not be worried?
  18. Amerks crashing the net. 2-0. The ‘Robinson Effect’. 😀
  19. Amerks live in Springfield (ROC score 43 seconds in). Home in time for the Sabres at 10. Good night of hockey!
  20. Went into our local package store a couple months ago and saw a stack of 30-can cartons of Genny Cream Ale (yes, 'Screamers'). Seeing that in MA is like seeing a polar bear in Florida. Bought a carton on general principle.
  21. Agree on Johnson (the younger one). If he's not going to be in the lineup send him down so he can play every game. Obviously he goes on a western road trip if he's the 7th D-man but the team has been in Buffalo (an hour away?) since Thursday night.
  22. JFC. The guy is hurt in the morning skate? I like Muel but this is ridiculous.
  23. Good. (Selfishly). I'll get to watch both Rosen and Kulich in the Amerks lineup Wednesday night. A week ago I thought I might get to see Levi also. But alas ....
  24. I think from above Frank Wycheck was determined not to lose claim to the 'greatest lateral by a TE in the history of football'. Sorry @Punch. Just got to your subsequent post. 🤐
  25. The line judge could not see the ball because Toney was blocking his line of sight.
