Well Kulich has been playing well and Ruff does not appear to love the skill set of his centers. He previously mentioned moving Tage to wing, and he did it to Cozens. Duffer mentioned that McLoed gets more than 4th line minutes, which I have also been tracking. -

I moved to California when I was 22. The New York State license did not have a picture on it. I would show the Sheriff’s Card and they would ask me if I was a cop. -

Wedgewood? That sounds like a fake name I’d give to adults when I was a teenager. What’s your name young man? Uh, Jack Wedgewood sir. -

Byram getting a Thank You on the Jumbotron from the Avs. I don’t recall the Sabres doing that for Mitts? -

Gives Quinn a vet winger and a rookie center. How is this helping Kulich by potentially making his matchups tougher? -

What is it? wedge or wood? -
Deonte played for Baltimore and Cleveland before Buffalo. The “palm trees” that Coach and Deonte are alluding to is the fun of playing a game in the snow, in front of great fans that care, and having a shot at ending the drought. Palm trees were used as a metaphor for the “good things” in playing for a Buffalo team.

The Bills and the Sabres are not the same team. They could not be run any more differently.

The difference between McDermott and anyone else that the Sabres have hired under Pegula is vast. McDermott said he had to own the drought, even though he didn't cause it, because owning it was the only way to end it. McDermott and Beane methodically (but not hastily) removed every veteran that was not part of the solution. What is interesting in this video is he mentions Kyle Williams and Jordan Poyer. One old vet with drought stains, and one new vet with none. Kyle was the vet that owned the drought and had all the right intentions to do his part to end it. He was a really good player and a respected leader. Keeping him was smart. Sometimes the moves you don't make are the right ones. Poyer was a 5th year player and entering his prime. One of several vets brought in to immediately improve the talent on the team and to teach the younger players what a professional football player looks like and how a professional player prepares for work. Poyer is also a guy with a fancy celebrity wife, and yet he extended with Buffalo because they had a winning a team. Showing us that winning is more important than glitz and glitter (palm trees and low taxes). Poyer was the guy who last year was not medically cleared to fly to Kansas City, so he drove to KC by car and played in that game. Huge respect to him. Even if his game was declining, he was a guy that inspired his teammates. Under Pegula, the Sabres have never yet had a POHO/GM/Coach that can do what McDermott and Beane did. Which is to find the right player chemistry to help establish a winning team culture without compromise. Adams refuses to use the Bills as guidance. He references the Bills at times, but he continually misses the mark on what they did and how they did it.

Very important to not lose two in a row. This will be difficult. -

I am with you but it’s just not that easy. You have to bring in the right vets and the young players have to be willing to learn. The Sabres never successfully did this for the old Eichel/Reinhart core and there are stories about that particular group of kids not listening to or respecting the vets that were brought in (guys like Gionta and Georges). Under Adams guys like Hall and Stahl just wanted a paycheck and then they got out come playoff time. They were not the right vets. Anderson was, but he was only good for 15-20 games, which got us the 3 goalie situation. Back to Zucker. I want to try to keep him. The reality is that his career is reaching its end and he wants a shot at the cup. Adam’s will try to help him at the deadline if he can. It’s the right way to treat a guy that gave you such a strong effort. Maybe they can re-sign him as an UFA again for next season? -
We are being told not to dwell on the past 14 seasons or 5000+ days. Look forward and be positive or you risk becoming boring. So,

You are not young. You are 50. Yet, you don’t understand urgency. Not even a sense of it. I understand you now. -

It’s this attitude that allows 3 years of losing to turn into 5, to 7, to 9, to 11, to 13 … Do you get it yet? -

It’s shows the small margin of error when you play a strong team. The Sabres are not a veteran team, they don’t have mental confidence, and they sure don’t have swagger. They did play a good game. They need help to advance. -

They are last, as in 16th, in their conference, which is all that matters for playoffs. Math isn’t your thing either. -
