Are you implying that there is no Covid 19 in China ?

Does the NHL test everyone, even if no symptoms?
-
These are great questions. Could be lots of vaxed people/players could have it, and they don’t know they have it (no symptoms) - but they can spread it. If true, this can go on, and on, and on, and on … … queue up some Journey on my turntable.

probably, but we are talking about the NHL

With no skates on and in the parking lot, Tage Thompson is the last guy on this team you would want to fight. He is a workout beast, he is very strong and determined guy, and of course he has great reach. But the reality is he does not fight and he does not have know any hockey fighting technique. Had he connected cleanly he could have done some damage. That other guy knew to stay close. The good thing is we are starting to see people step in. As this team starts to rise up in the standings they can expect more challenges because no one wants to lose to Buffalo , their old reputation of being soft will need to be dissolved. So far this year we have seen more players stepping up than in the past. DG seems to like that kind of a response too.

Yes, but also that your willing to separate the opponent from the puck to help your team gain control of it.

Interesting. Probably not may takers against those teams with low fights. I am fine with the Sabres not having players that start fights, but I do want the ones that will finish them.

Alex Tuch Scheduled to Make His Sabres Debut on 12/20

I’m starting to see a change. He is getting more feisty lately. I’m liking his game in the past few weeks. He has the frame to add muscle. Be patient. -

… and Robin did so much to take care of himself too. -
No problem on the Bernier reference. I sure didn’t mean to call you out either. You are correct on the Bernier hot start. 🍺 🍻 I think we all have high hopes for Tuch. It’s hard to find a forward with his size plus a decent amount of speed, hands, skill, and energy. He is promising and hopefully consistently good with longevity.

I am sad to hear the game was cancelled. The team has been playing well so I was looking forward to see them keep it going. Tuch’s debut was a nice side story. On Tuch, I think the comparison to Steve Bernie is low, his play with a Vegas was already past that level. He is not an All Star or a fighter. He is a big forward that plays a hard honest game and can score and play with physical presence. Something we need. The fact that he wants to play here is refreshing.

I’m hoping decisions on who plays are always relevant. Competition makes them better. Stock up and have them work for ice and give their all when they get a chance.
-
“Slowly add” means when the developing player has shown improvement and maturity in the AHL, and can make the NHL team better by inclusion on the roster. Each player will have a unique timeline.
-
Tuch will be a great addition. Slowly keep the sauce simmering … then slowly add Tuch, Mitts, Quinn, Krebs, Peterka, Power, Samuelsson … it sure looks like Fitz and Murray want to stay up and compete and push for ice … further out there is Johnson, Portillo, Levi, Rosen, and a bunch of Russians that should cycle through Rochester first. Plus 3 more first rounders on the way …. Our sentence in Hockey Hell has been a long one but maybe, if we can just stop changing GMs and Coaches, this will work.

Sabres acquire goalie Malcolm Subban for Future Considerations
Pimlach replied to Hoss's topic in The Aud Club
Hard for me to call it the best save of the year when he admitted it was not a deliberate attempt at a save. We finally got some puck luck. These things tend to even out over the long haul. -
Paul Maurice resigns after losing to the Sabres

We could probably package Butcher and Eakin for Scheifele in a trade. -

Yes, your right. My initial thought was a bit jaded. He has been around the block. Sounds like burn out. If his message isn’t getting through then its a good move. -
I think the defensive gafs come from pressing. Losing and lots of minutes takes a toll. He is 21 and still learning. Now that his offensive side is coming back to expectations, it is having a positive impact on his overall game. He just needs to use those skills to find space and put pucks either on the net, or on a teammates tape. The team improving around him takes pressure off of him too. I like seeing him push back. Yes, he took a cross check penalty yesterday but sometimes you need to put welts on opposing players. He is pushing back on the cheap ***** that people try on him. He is listed 6’3”, 207 LBs. I can see him filling out more and getting stronger at 212 to 215 in years to come.

Now that is a quitter. I can’t see this decision helping him find an NHL HC job in the future.
