That's the key to this whole debacle. He has so little trust of anyone outside his circle. Seems like yesterday everyone here was clamoring over this bright and shiny new owner that was willing to spend money and bring "multiple cups" to Buffalo. Little did we know how toxic he is.

I’ve been harping on this as well. The “core” on this team may mostly be high end 1st rounders but they are not top end talent. Even though they’re on the younger side, we’ve seen their best. It’s either poor scouting/drafting and/or poor coaching. I tend to lean towards poor scouting/drafting. They will be career underachievers at best and there isn’t much in pipeline that would suggest a bright future.

Every squirrel finds a nut once in awhile. Pegula lucked out with the Beane/McDermott hires. I go back to the Lafontaine fiasco. Something felt fishy about his departure back then and it should've been a red flag right from the start. I really think that Lafontaine would've been a great team president, overseeing the hockey department. Pegula gets his hockey ignorant hands on too many decisions.

I really need to find better things to do with my time than continue to watch these clowns
