Not a terrible deal for a bottom end of the roster. 2nd rounders in the NHL are generally Meh anyways and Clifton was a warm body on a terrible team. Problem is, this does nothing to help move this team from 79 pts to the playoffs. Never any apparent urgency to make the top of the roster any better is the annual issue. And would any of us trust KA to make that happen?

Does it really matter anymore? What's the prospect pool look like in 2026? With no improvements to this roster, I'd put money on us picking top 5 again. Rinse repeat....

Highly unlikely we move up high enough to take either Misa or Martone. Any chance we trade up? Throw in Rosen and another prospect possibly. I'm not sold on anyone after number 5 on this list.

Agreed... even with Norris out, the forwards seem to be playing better with the subtraction of Cozens.

He’s good, not great. He’ll stretch the field and take the top off the defense and that’s really what they need him for to open up the underneath stuff. With that being said, 13 million a year or whatever it is, is a lot of money for a one trick pony!

And maybe someone inside KA’s inner circle (of two people) will tell him that it is actually possible for a player to sign with a Buffalo team and leave palm trees behind! That is, if the team isn’t a Mickey Mouse run fiasco like the one he is GM
