  1. I'm actually surprised we're still close to a playoff spot and it's Feb. 1st. 25 days to make decisions on players staying and going, 7 game home stand within that time frame. While I don't believe Botterill will do nothing, I also don't think any big moves are coming. Turning my attention to the three 1st rdr's I can see those players starting to appear in 2 to 3 yrs from now depending on how well Botterill and staff draft.
  2. Just watched Hunter Killer. Wasn't that impressed. Enjoyable, but nothing to write home about.
  3. Maybe the scouts and coaching staff identified a couple of things they felt he should work on before coming up. I'm going to deduce that is the case. He's 23, I fully expect him up full time next season, maybe on Casey's wing.
  4. Moving D does bring the most logical. I am interested in that targeted D man of yours though. Maybe, hard to say how he would have performed, the NHL moves much faster than the leagues he's played in to date.
  5. I agree. If we move a couple of depth players it'll be for picks or depth players on short deals in return imo. If this team is going to push for a wildcard spot, Jack, Sam, Zemgus, Casey, Rasmusx2 are going to have to step their game up a couple of notches. They have it within them to do it, the question is will they?
  6. Duchene for sure would make one hell of an impact. And obviously Panarin would be a huge impact as well. But wait, there's more...…………...how about Botterill sign Skinner, then trade for both Duchene and Panarin? That would immediately thrust the Sabres in to a playoff contention tizzy. Would it work? Who knows, but it would be a major shift in the power structure of the both the Atlantic Division and the Eastern Conference. Could we afford it? Who knows.
  7. That was definitely boarding on Eichel, but, the refs take a couple from every team I guess, we were next on the list I reckon. Just come home and rip off 7 wins in a row.
  8. Just win the game, OT, shootout, regulation, whatever it takes, just win.
  9. Refs letting a lot of calls slide I see.
  10. I would like to see rookie Girgensons come back. He floats a lot I've noticed.
  11. Do we have any big bodied fast power forwards in our system?
  12. Just thought with this time of year it'd be interesting to see the lists combined with who Phil decides to play. I'm thinking Bowl-u might be getting scouted this evening.

  14. I think they can, I think they can, I think they can ?
  15. Did Razor just say on WGR that he expects the defense situation to be resolved rather shortly here? Did I hear that right?
  16. As someone who's lurked for a bit before joining, the 3 most important letters to me in the game day thread titles were always GDT combined with the date. Casual fans however might enjoy both the city name and sports club name, i.e. Florida Panthers. How about whether it's a home or away game as well, built in to the title format. For example: GDT: Buffalo Sabres @ New York Rangers Then you can also add in the time it starts, going off of Eastern Standard Time since a majority of the fanbase is primarily in that time zone. Or you can do GMT+5 and have out of time zone fans correlate their respective time zones off of the GMT. I think EST is a bit easier though. For example: GDT: Buffalo Sabres @ Dallas Stars, 01/29/19, 8:30pm EST And of course there is the information on broadcast. Should it be limited to Televised? What about those at work who have no access to TV, are they SOL? Surely we can do better than that and put in a permanent WGR550 clause for radio for new fans that are desperate to catch the fire inside for their yearning of SABRES passion. I.E.: GDT: Buffalo Sabres @ Dallas Start, 01/29/19, 8:30pm EST, WGR550(radio) MSG(televised) And what about promotional GDT's? Something that catches the eye of the casual fan, that can be incorporated in to conversation of the board members, creating further fire, passion, emotion to those casual fans to join in. For Example: GDT: Buffalo Sabres @ Dallas Stars, 01/29/19, 8:30pm EST, WGR550(radio) MSG(televised), The Sabres travel to tame the shrew!
  17. I believe Botterill is doing a good job. He got rid of that locker room cancer ROR, brought in a 1st, Tage Thompson for him. Brought in Skinner, the leagues second leading goal scorer this season, for a 2nd and some other C stuff. Is developing the wingers in Rochester and not forcing them up before both they and this roster is ready. I do think Mitts was rushed, Tage could've seen some time in Rochester, but overall, I give Botterill a B+ currently. Like I said, thank god he got rid of that locker room negative Nancy cancer and changed the culture. We dodged a bullet on that one.
  18. I'm in the same boat. Industrial Electrician on the installation side. Oxy, Covanta, Air Base, Cascades, used to be Dupont as well. Did the Tonawanda corridor to, 3M, Peroxy and the Republic Steel site in Lackawanna. Up in lifts an a great deal, on the steel, running conduit and cable tray. Last winter was rough bud, was out in it all winter, this year is the same, I feel it. I completely understand your pain.
  19. yea, I'm thinking the same thing. Our company shutdown today, temps, a lot of outdoor work. My truck is a 99 f-250, 7.3 liter, It's used to pull material and heavy equipment around, the main reason I bought it. Never saw a winter until last yr, 341k miles on it, so it's in great shape, but you can just tell it does not like the cold. Picked it up from a long time friend for 5k, put 6k in to it in just under 3 yrs, including a new turbo, the original was 10 years past it's expected life. I don't think I'll get another diesel though, let the company figure out how to move crap around. I'll wait until this fall and take a trip out to Arizona to pick up a newer model gas. The sad thing is, this truck roles in the snow like nobodies business, that 7.3 has pulling power, and with the 8 ft bed it's been a beast of a work truck, but the winter cold hassle just isn't worth it. Oh well, I just keep telling the wife, 11 to 15 yrs more to retirement ?
  20. Truck had a really hard time this morning, had the block plugged in all night, the glo-plug just didn't like these temps and I have winter blend in the tank. Temp drops like this always affect my truck. The downside of needing a diesel to move weight, they really don't like the extreme cold.
  21. I am hoping the over night travel and game last night hasn't sapped enough out of them to just sleep walk through this one. They just have to show up tonight, right? I am so hoping they will.
  22. True. I am hoping they've found a way to overcome that. It would be so nice to make the playoffs while not giving up prime assets to add to the roster, maybe just move a UFA or 2? I know, I know, I won't hold my breathe, but last nights game just gave me such a teaser, especially on the offensive side. If they roll 10 than falter again, like earlier in the season, I'm going to nickname that feeling I have the "Soft Woody". It looks and feels so right, until you try and use it for any type of commitments ?
  23. Couple of things very noticeable. First was the physical game, finishing checks, second was the speed of guys, not only up the ice but decision making, looked sharp. Third was guys going to the slot in the O-zone, it definitely was noticeable and paid dividends in a big way on the score sheet, especially on Tage's goal.
