  1. And of course, the goal within 2 minutes of us scoring a goal shows it's ugly head. This is a real problem with this team.
  2. Was that Roseanne Barr? If not, not the worst ever...….
  3. wow, this guy can belt out an anthem.
  4. Buffalo will win this one, Hunwick with a pair and the game winner...………. Not buying it? No worries, neither am I ?
  5. Looking to know what scouts are at tonight's game.
  6. Code Blue in effect. Be safe out there all, it's a bit cold out.
  7. Agree on this. What people are talking about is 12/12.5 for Mathews is a shoe in. They specifically talked about Marner and his agent not wanting to discuss contract until season's end because he's going to be asking for 11 to 12 million. One thing they were pointing to is a longterm deal, not one of my former coaches I still speak with said he'd sign any bridge or shorter term deal. These guys are fairly involved in youth, but they still speak with some of their past players, I'd imagine they don't have any inside sources but have somewhat of a reasonable pulse on what could go on.
  8. Respectfully disagree. This team doesn't have wingers, hell, they don't have a 2nd and 3rd line nearly across the board. This year is not the year.
  9. This is not the year to be throwing the future out the window. This team needs another year, they need time to develop what youth they can to come up and make an impact while at the same time moving some of the bad contracts. The Sabres aren't deadline buyers, they are deadline sellers.
  10. I'm just a working man, but, my parents had season tickets for 27 yrs, my first childhood memories of games were the 74/75 season, I was at the Aud and watched Lorentz knock the bat out of the air. My mom dated a former Sabres, indeed, I wore Danny Gare's skates at 13 yrs old while playing for the Wheatfield Blades and St. Catherine's Tigers. You don't want to take that bet. As much as many people here despise Toronto, they weren't always in our division, or conference for that matter. When you travel the SOHL circuit as a kid, you get to meet people. Don't count on what your stating here. Just a friendly tip.
  11. Muzzin has lost a couple of steps. I watch quite a bit of the west coast games, he's not what he was a couple years ago. It was a fair trade however. As for Marner, I speak from some clarity with this, Toronto is in trouble cap wise for next season. The statement of keeping them all together isn't going to happen. There is a real reason why Marner and his Agent will not talk contract until after the season, and it has 0, nothing, notta, zilch to do with staying loyal to Toronto. You can bet there is going to be a sacrificial lamb out of Toronto, and it isn't going to be Nylander.
  12. I've been catching an Amerks game here and there, the hustle I'm seeing from him when I do watch them is somewhat impressive. And he seems to be finding the net. Granted, it is the AHL, but I did get a chance to ask some board members if that hustle and speed has been something of a regular for O'Regan. I would like to think one of these off trade guys figures it out enough to get it to click for them. As it stands now, just the names I know anyways, Thompson, Nylander, Olofsson, Smith and O'Regan are possibles come end of season or next season, no? If that is the case, which one of these guys looks ready to really contribute, I don't mean just filling a roster spot, but really step it up and be a bit of a difference maker? Right now, not impressed with Thompson's puck control or finish ability, to little, to late. Olofsson and O'Regan intrigue me for their finish ability, but not so sure on other facets of their game play, as I said, just haven't seen the Amerks consistent enough (dam work schedule gets in the way). Some interesting players though, I guess. Makes sense. I would really like to see some impact from Rochester. Not just for the Sabres, but some guys with high energy, bust'em through the glass along the boards type power forwards...….
  13. Speaking of O'Regan and Smith...……...bottom 6'ers to be sure, but O'Regan with that hustle and Smith doesn't look out of place on a 3rd/4th line role. Is it time to move Girgs? I think so.
  14. Not surprised at all with a D man to Toronto. But Muzzin? At 4 million next season? Gardiner's replacement to be sure, but that Cap situation didn't get any better and if they don't get out of the quarter or semi rounds this playoffs...………..it is going to be a bidding war for Marner. Oh please Botterill, get in that action if it's palatable cost wise.
  15. I'm not familiar with how the ice time is handed out in Rochester, but I disagree on him not learning anything in the AHL. I believe if he is going to be a center, there are things he could have learned in the AHL while developing his physical side, such as defensive awareness and O-zone positioning. I also believe there could have been a test of chemistry with wingers, such as Smith, Olofsson and Nylander. More so than who he's been saddled with up with the big club. I do wonder if Buffalo gets eliminated from playoff contention if they'll send him down for an Amerks run.
  16. Agreed Mitts wasn't and even now isn't ready for full time NHL duty. Dahlin is the luck of the draw. But Skinner wasn't luck, it was a trade. Luck had nothing to do with it. Agreed that developing prospects is key when building through the draft. Therefore, given the shambles the Sabres team has been in for 4 yrs now, another yr isn't going to matter.
  17. Nill baffles me. He traded Oleksiak to Pittsburgh. The Penguins then sign him to a 3 yr - 2,137,500 extension. Then Dallas trades the exact pick they got for him back to Pittsburgh to bring him back?
  18. I hunt the southeast/eastern corridor of Letchworth. My step brother and I have been at the top of the permit list for 3 yrs now. I'm 49, it took us 13 yrs to get there once we did get approved for the permits. In that time, he's taken out 8 bucks, 5 for me. He has a 14 pointer, real nice, my biggest was a small 11. We shoot no doe and nothing under 8. We meet the same guys there year after year. It's really an honor to hunt there, also, one hell of a tricky hunt.
  19. Exactly. We have a finisher/sniper for Eichel's LW. Don't let it run down the inner-thigh in a moment of "but we can get such a trade climax". It feels so good when it happens, but then you need to clean up the aftermath.
  20. And what kind of organization would that be? What, we are now excepting to become a farm team of UFA's for Cup contenders? I think that sends the absolute wrong message. The concept is to put the Sabres in contention, not other teams.
  21. nice snipe, to bad it was the Crunch.
  22. PP looked good, but not hitting the net on the shots. Puck control looked real good though.
  23. I've only been able to catch about 20 games or so with this ahltv package Ink. Question for you guys who have seen them more, are guys like O'Regan and Smith potential NHL roster players, even if only bottom 6 roles? Also, it looks like O'Regan has speed, does he bring that hustle and speed every game?
