Sabres win tonight. They come out of the locker room with the intensity and focus of a pack of rabbis wolves, stalking their prey. From the moment the puck drops to the final buzzer, we see a Sabres team with only one thing in their mind, kill Thu enemy! They finish every check, blast shot after shot on net, clog the passing lanes, stand up the opponent at the Blue line and feed razor sharp, crisp tape to tape passes...........

Sad, just sad. Beyond frustrating, just no hope at all. It's a situation where it's a situation.

Risto doesn't show much grit. He occasionally gets in the way of opponents, but is completely unwilling to fully engage, and that, is what this team needs. They need someone to instill fear in to opponents, Risto doesn't do that, he's more of an antagonizer.

Defense is such a difficult position I believe. I went with the kid is a pup, I'm not on one side of the fence or the other.

He doesn't score much at all in the regular season, but he was a straight out beast in the playoffs. If I'm Bots, I pick him up, his size and tenacity are exactly what this team could use.

Yep. The players are going to have to learn to trust in one another, and that includes holding themselves accountable. Botterill just said, you want the playoffs? Then go out and take the spot that gets you in, because no one is going to do it for you. It honestly never should have come to this...…………………..not after the 10 game winning streak. And yet, here we, and they, are.

Not only do I firmly believe Botterill holds these things he's said as true, I also believe in that interview he directly addressed the fans. His message? "Suck it up buttercups because this is the plan".

He also said the players need to grow, mature and figure out how to win themselves. He's pleased with the progression of competitiveness he's seen, the coaching staffs communication with the players. He said they are working on bettering the roster long term and if no deals happen this week they will continue to work to that end over the coming months. Skinner talks continue. So in short, figure it out Jack & company, your on your own this season.

Yes. The problems on the roster, in management, which ever it is, must be corrected. Leadership is the key.

Risto's mistakes are well documented, and while I understand the hesitation to move him, he is one of the very few with value left. If it isn't working, then it isn't working. McCabe is another one.

Normally I'd agree SDS. But in this case, it isn't working, a hockey trade can be done I'd reckon that can start to address some failures. I'm not looking for an all star.
