  1. I'm going to say something that is going to sound outlandish, but it actually looks like we're tanking again. It just looks like it.
  2. Sure we can, Botterill just needs to be willing to pay ?
  3. Did he put his feet up on the seat in front of him in the press box again? If I've told him once, I've told him 25 games, he can't do that with Phil occasionally waking up with his head pointed upward during games...…………….
  4. I liked Bogo's play that period. Still seeing to many poke check attempts as opposed to taking the body. I'm looking to E-Rod for the first goal, his speed should be able to get by their slower D at some point.
  5. I don't know how, but the PP, no matter which unit is on, just always seem to look horrible, or at least 99.9% of the time. I mean, stop passing the dam puck around the perimeter, someone work to the high or middle slot with a stick ready and feed that dude.
  6. Yea, I've been thinking the same. Botterill has to address at least some of the issues before or at the deadline, no? Even if it's only 1 or 2, if it's showing progress...…? If not, the trade partner list for me is short, 4 teams short. Calgary, and I would want Tkachuck and their 1st. NY Islanders, and I would want Bellows, Mayfield and a 1st. Vegas, and I would want Karlsson and Whitecloud. Vancouver, and I would want Boeser and their 1st.
  7. So, with the scouting list at LA/BOS tilt yesterday, I have a question. Just how dubious is the authenticity of that rumor? It's looking like Buffalo is taking a peak, that's why I ask.
  8. I missed one...….Matt Roy, RD, 6'1", 200lbs listed. Maybe?
  9. I care to NS! ? Housely's presser after the Ranger game was pretty damning. "We are to soft to play against"...………………………….That speaks volumes. Hey Botterill, "Where's the Beef"? GO SABRES!!!!!!
  10. Martinez wasn't in the game, so I counted him out. Looked over the NHL.com roster stats and cap friendly, nothing caught my attention. Toffoli maybe? Kempfe is Swedish, maybe him? I did find this on "The Mayor" twitter feed, and he was in the game yesterday. The Mayor John Hoven‏ @mayorNHL 17h17 hours ago More Spoke w/ Matt Luff after the game last nt. Here are a few nuggets... "I came down w/ a positive attitude. I'm working toward getting called up again, When I get the chance up top, I want to take somebody's spot & stay in that lineup. I'm just trying to take steps fwd in my game" Listed as 21 yrs old, undrafted, RW, 6'2", 196lbs. He's as close to a prospect as they had in that game yesterday? I guess? I dunno, I don't get to watch hardly any Kings games, so I'm just throwing darts at the board here. Could it have been possible Greely was there to look at Boston?
  11. Looking over the LA roster now. Martinez is in that late prime area. Not really a fan of picking him up. Watch it be a former Penguin special...………..Hagelin. lol
  12. Have to look at their roster, but what would interest us that they have off hand?
  13. The real question is will you and I get complimentary suite tickets for life as a show of "good faith negotiating"? It just has to be in the contract ?
  14. Detroit has Larkin, and while they are a year or 2 behind the Sabres in build out, they are almost as close to home for Skinner. I don't have a great deal of faith as of now, that the Sabres can stay ahead of Detroit competitively. As I said, as of now.
  15. In my humble opinion, General Manager Jason Botterill needs to address the fan base on what the plan moving forward is. That includes the tenure of Phil Housley. To myself in any event, as I watch the games, especially these past 2 months, it is more than clear that whatever strategy and tactics Phil is using are not working. There is something inherently wrong with Housley's inability, unwillingness, refusal, incompetence, call it what you will, to adjust strategies and tactics to fit the abilities and skillsets of his players. This, to me, is a sign of very bad coaching staff or a roster of players who simply are not able to adapt. Now, on this roster, yea, I can 6 to 8 players that may fall in to the latter's category, but 23 of them? Actually more given the replacements from time to time from the press box or Rochester. I'm having a really hard time believing EVERY PLAYER in the Sabres organization is unable to adjust to Housley's system, and yet, night after night, game after game, it appears there is a complete disconnect there. I'm there now, Housley needs to go, if for no other reason than to try a different strategy.
  16. So it looks like that fight last night may have injured Okposo. If that is the case who gets called up? Or is it just insert Mitts? On a larger roster view, Glotov is looking good in the ECHL, don't know why he can't stick in Rochester..... UPL had a bump in the road in 1 game in his development but overall has been superb, wonder when he can shoot up to Rochester...…. The time has now come, following this 7 game home stand, for Botterill to make some choices. We all have our selections on what we'd want to happen, but honestly, are we really going to ride out the season with the roster situation the way it is? We have far to many LHD's with NHL caliber, even if 5/6 or even a 7th depth positioning on other teams. Personally, I want Botterill to start making trades, and not just for picks or Rochester bolstering, but actual hockey trades. I also would like him to move some salary, specifically Sobotka and Hunwick, yes, I realize they are lower end salary with a year left, still, I see no reason to throw money down the toilet next season as well. Any thoughts from you all? Any reasonable, doable ideas? I am all ears this morning.
  17. Both have shown that compete for sure. But no worries, if Housley were to get a hold of either he'd be sure to press box it out of them.
  18. Skinner just looks so disheartened. You can tell he so wants to stay here, but I think he's thinking on it now. Sure looks like it tonight anyways.
  19. Sometimes. Reminds me of the 85 to 89 campaigns, no identity.
  20. Anyone notice, Dahlin taking over as ice time leader on a rather regular basis as the season has progressed.......
  21. Ok Botterill, if you were waiting to see how this home stand went before making a move, might I suggest you fire up the old phone........ It's time....... Start shipping out the under-achievers and bringing up the kids.
  22. Well, this went well tonight hey boys?
