Your Ideal Sabres Lineup for the Remainder of This Season?
PerreaultForever replied to GASabresIUFAN's topic in The Aud Club
okay. As you said to me then, explain the roles as you see it, as it appears that you are not doing that. -
I have no problem with it and like it in fact. Boston doesn't take Marchand and Bergeron off the ice cause the PK is too dangerous do they? Tuch's good at it, use him on it, simple as that. Goes for every player. We don't need to take Tuch off things, we just need more players like Tuch, and we need the kind of team leadership a top player blocking shots shows. It's time this team developed a constant ethic of work hard and do whatever it takes to win.

Your Ideal Sabres Lineup for the Remainder of This Season?
PerreaultForever replied to GASabresIUFAN's topic in The Aud Club
Really? See I'm not that guy, didn't want to be that guy, but you did in fact go there first. https://www.sabrespace.com/community/topic/30493-have-never-seen-a-team-have-as-many-goalie-injuries-in-the-past-3-seasons-as-the-sabres-have/page/2/ So, maybe you were having a few too many shots like your avi Lemmy used to and you forgot, or maybe you consider those things different, but don't play holier than thou. You tossed one out, I tossed one back, I'm fine to bury it there and move on. Your call. -
Your Ideal Sabres Lineup for the Remainder of This Season?

always in your opinion. More like this, but ideally replacing members of that 4th line with better role players. I'd keep Hayden ahead of them. Hayden Bjork jankowski but again, prefer some new bigger and tougher blood there. Pat Maroon types. Don't see Mitts with Krebs as both are playmakers. That line would be physically demolished. Those are the 9 I'd go with though unless Mitts shows he's not what we hope he is and then maybe remove him for Peterka or Murray to make it bigger. Skinner-Thompson-Tuch Asplund-Cozens-Olofsson Murray-Krebs/Mitts- Quinn Bjork-Jankowski-Hayden (or upgrades but in the same pesky, pk, or crash idea(s). But I'm wrong, of course. -

It seems you're trying to make all the lines the same. There's no defined role or function. Not the approach I'd go with. -

You know sometimes in your replies you can be a bit of a dick. Just sayin'. The optimum words there were this year, but you obviously have no interest in trying to get that. -
The Right Side of the Defense: Trade Needed
PerreaultForever replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Aud Club
idk who to trade for but the LA idea seems possible. If not, maybe Florida lets Radko Gudas go for a pick or prospect? They're pretty much up to the cap and have some bigger name free agents in the next few years. idk. I'd want somebody big and/or tough if we made a trade. otherwise just stay the course and play a lefty on the right side. -
A Bills fan saying ANYTHING complementary about Billicheat, you should be ashamed of yourself sir! Sorry for your loss Bills fans, but that was a heck of a good football game from a viewing/entertainment perspective. Hard to take I get it, but you have a very solid team and should be competitive for quite a while to come. Something to look forward to.

Your Ideal Sabres Lineup for the Remainder of This Season?

he could have 100 points I don't care. I don't actually care about "points" for players ever, just wins, but to this POINT, I want everyone and everything associated in any way with that time period GONE. Seeing what we have now, it's time. With our goaltending and some of the other pending things I'm not really looking at whether we win or lose this year but HOW WE PLAY. Dahlin giving out physical push back meant more to me in this game than any of the goals as an example. The TEAM is what matters to me and what they do or don't do as a unit. But yes, Philly is a dumpster fire that is true. -

We just played one of our best games of the year, and Cozens looked good, and those two were not there. Consider that. -

Why are people saddling Cozens with Girgensens and Okposo? If I had my way those two would never see the ice again. The team we saw the last couple games without them was a better team than it was with them. They are not fast, stuck in their ways, and tainted by the losing years. Time to move on. I don't care about Rochester. Quinn is the only guy I'm sending back once he's fully healed because he's too physically underdeveloped at this point. Maybe send Krebs down if Mitts takes the 3C spot. maybe. -
that was VERY enjoyable for a change. Most of all I was impressed that we played much better team defense. Blocked shots, broke up plays, back checked, even threw a few hits. Solid team play. We haven't seen much of that this year so this is very encouraging. I really like Samuelsson. Definitely something we were missing. We could use another one like him on the right side to complete this D. Reminds me a lot of Bill Hajt for you old timers. The light at the end of the tunnel is showing, and it just might not be a train after all.

But he was 1 guy. What did they do clone him? Is there another pro sports team named after an individual? Sabres is good. Bandits is good. Bisons is a little weird as it's sort of the Bufflao buffalos but at least you can pluralize it. Bills is just odd and although I obviously know who Buffalo Bill was, the name makes me first think payment due. But anyway, I'd like to see them win, even though I'm not a fan.

Idk about reddit, but if you look around here they're pretty upset about everything, Risto included. https://www.hockeyforums.net/forum/8-philadelphia-flyers/ General feeling is they need a tear down, much like the feeling was on Risto's last team 🙂

Good luck with your game Bills fans (even if your football team has one of the dumbest names in professional sports :))

Oh please...............he was a bust before the head shot. I don't hate the guy and I have nothing against him as a person, and I know he had a personal battle but the only thing that matters to me in these discussions is the decisions management makes and what ends up on the ice, and the simple fact is he was a bad signing. Go on, be a fan, keep loving the crap that we've had for over a decade. Keep making excuses, keep on believing if it helps you sleep.
-
Yes, it was a great goal, and we need more players driving towards the net in a similar manner. Their D was crap on that play, but that is what Dahlin has the skill to exploit. I think Power will give us this as well by the way.
-
I said it in the game thread, he has the body of a child. Guy has skills but he needs to beef up and bulk up badly or this sort of thing will ruin him .
-
Part of the problem in the sense that he was signed to big money and term to be a top line winger, 20-30 goal scorer and he was a bust in that role. Girgs was a bust as a first round draft pick. I don't hate those guys, but you can add them to the mistakes were made side of the leger. What I want to see is an end to failed players tossed onto the 4th line like we've done over these years and focus instead on true role players that we need. I want a 4th line that is a tenacious pain in the ass line to play against. Tough and aggravating that can not cost us goals against but can instead spend time in their end wearing down the opposing D as they give the top lines a rest. HARD TO PLAY AGAINST has, and still is, the missing ingredient for the Sabres. We won't be good until we get that at least for part of the roster.

I know quite a few Flyers fans and that is definitely not true. Every single one of them was okay or happy with the deal when it was made but now hates it and sees it as one of the GM mistakes. General feeling with them is that Clarke and Holmgren are stuck on an old school logic that has ruined the franchise. Risto is seen as part of that ethic/idea.
