  1. alright, I'm just trying to keep people honest. I'm a pretty fair-minded person, and I've just read some things that made my stomach turn. I'll try to give people the benefit of the doubt, unless it is something blatant. Not really possible to know. A lot of these things are veiled
  2. I'm glad it's not, for you guys.
  3. That's your view, and I respect that. There are many, many people here who seem to have somehow forgot that Kane led the team in goals. There are people who have said "he's a cancer in the locker room," when there are absolutely no reports during his time on the Sabres that validate that. And the comment about him not giving consistent effort- ? At a certain point, I begin to wonder. I thought he was the type of player Buffalo would love- fast, physical, scores goals... but everyone wants to trade him. And somehow they think his production is easily replaceable, the way the talk about it... Some things just don't add up...
  4. FWIW, Someone I know on the "inside" - who has watched Beaulieu carefully - says he's a stud and just needs some confidence. He said he has tons of skill and we're lucky to have him.
  5. I think a majority of people here who watch Kane play would agree that, despite his flaws on the ice, he gives a 100% effort every night, throws his body around, skates hard, etc. It is my opinion that a bias could lead someone to think his effort is inconsistent. Could be any kind of bias ;)
  6. I was calling someone out who said Kane doesn't give a consistent effort. I think that is patently incorrect and a sign of bias. All other points are valid (effectiveness in d zone, play-making abilities [or lack thereof]), but to Wildcard- we don't have to play 80s style hockey for it to be a factor that Kane is a physical presence that makes him harder to play against.
  7. I know, it was an overstatement. But effort is something Kane brings - maybe even a little too much - to which you astutely pointed out, after the rib incident, he seemed to play a little more carefully. If you have to point to a winger's effort in the d-zone to illustrate their overall "lack of effort," you're grasping at straws
  8. because it is the only thing anyone seems to be able to criticize.
  9. A winger in the defensive zone? Do wingers now have more responsibility in the defensive zone if their last name is Kane?
  10. The way some people talk about Kane here is pretty obnoxious. Tit-for-tat
  11. The scoring-goals trick is a pretty good trick. I'll take it. Effort is always 100%. Start watching hockey games. "all that other off ice stuff" - clear evidence of bias. What happened in the last year, off ice? Nothing. Get over it, he's fine. No reports of anyone in the locker room having problems with him; only some fans.
  12. Exactly what I was expecting, essentially. Let's see if it worked.
  13. Yeah, it's called making $ and being famous Good for him, though
  14. Buffalo could be 1st place in AFC East after Sunday? :P (no offense to Miami fans... stay safe, thoughts and prayers your way)
  15. Definitely tempers all of the "start Peterman" talk (which I am embarrassed to admit I was almost buying into a little)
  16. I don't; it's more probable that I overestimate Zemgus's ceiling...
  17. Careful, I'll turn on you in a second ;) Watch it, you're on thin ice as it is ;)
  18. And if GIrgs wins, trade the latter!
  19. I really like the idea of Sam centering Evander, even though I think the analytics say Eichel centering Evander was the most productive for both. I'd be curious to see the former, though.
  20. Not as a starter, and with a new style offense and new coach. I agree he's not going to morph into a different QB, but maybe a coaching focus on a different offense can bring something else out of him? Shooting in the dark for optimism somewhere...
  21. With good slot receivers and good coaching, is it possible Tyrod can be coached to and still learn to be a better over-the-middle passer?
  22. Wasn't referring to who he'd be playing with, but being on the 3rd line. I agree with the concept, but the 3rd line doesn't get nearly as much TOI, and that's why I think he wouldn't like it. But then again, if he's on the power play and kills penalties, maybe it'd even out.
  23. Does anyone think there is any chance of these being our 4 centers? Eichel ROR Samson Zemgus ?? I'd love to see that
