  1. No, but he obviously knows what this team needs and unlike Adams, Regier was able to get improving trades done, and I bet Lindy has enough respect around the NHL he’d be able to swing deals even without GM experience.
  2. As if Adams could get the players Lindy really wants, like D who can actually play D. Remember Regier went and added Lydman and had Tallinder and McKee in 2005. We have no defensemen who can play D at anywhere near the level of those 3 players. Compare the centers as well - 2005 - Drury, Briere, Connolly, Roy, Gaustad, Hecht, Mair and compare to Thompson, Cozens, McLeod, Krebs, Laffery and Kulich. Is it really any wonder this team stinks again.
  3. Player development is not linear. Most guys go up and down and it can depend on injuries, coaches, usage, linemates, puck luck etc..... Quinn is a going to be a fine long-term NHL player but he needs a playmaker on his line just like Cozens.
  4. The Sabres are 0-4-2 in their last 6 game with 21 GA. They have gone from a playoff spot to nearly out of contention in a 2 weeks. How can they not make changes? Same old Sabres and TP & his yes man Howdy Doody are killing hockey in Buffalo.
  5. Kevin Adams and the Buffalo Sabres coaching and management.
  6. Cozens is not waivers exempt. He can’t be sent down without clearing waivers snd would be claimed immediately. Quinn is probably nor waivers exempt either. The only way these guys can go down is on rehab assignments.
  7. There is no question that a new GM needs Terry to move to the background. Maybe Ruff has enough pull with Terry to ask him to take a step back. Maybe Karmanis and Ruff can team up in the short-term to try to fix some things sooner than later and hopefully Terry sells the team this spring and thus allows a fresh look.
  8. He should be gone before the game ends!
  9. Here is the good news. We know now that KA is just a yes-man without a clue how to run an NHL franchise. I think it's time to turn off the games and move on to other things because it's no longer worth our time and money in invest in this black hole. Until there is a change in the top of the franchise GM and Owner, this team is dead. Sorry!
  10. So the gutless Sabres didn't voluntarily want to address the media and fans after the terrible collapse, but instead were forced into it by the media. Nice!
  11. I’m going to have to find a replay of a Bills, GA or IU football game so that I don’t have to watch this game.
  12. “I’m resigning for the good of the franchise. I have lost the confidence of the team, the fans and I fear the Pegulas”. I have nothing but love for the Sabres and their fans and I’m heartbroken that my plan to bring glory back to this franchise hasn’t worked.”
  13. I'm in full agreement here. He still needs to get stronger on his skates, but that is vastly improved year over year.
  14. Don't forget what bad goaltending does to these stats. Innocent plays with guys like Georgiev in goal end up in the back of the net.
  15. I asked that question that day he was hired given his complete lack of front-office experience. It seems my reservations were correct. That said, the hiring is now in the past and it's time for a fresh look at this team and Adams and Pegula are not the people I trust to make the necessary decisions to fix this franchise.
  16. Hasn't that been obvious for years? The fans should boycott a game completely and maybe he'll do something.
  17. Long overdue. Time to start seeing if any of the older prospects can help. He can't be worse than the garbage currently playing defense for the Sabres.
  18. The gate and playoff revenue are huge factors in their P/L and thus the evaluation.
  19. I doubt any boss wants his GM to destroy the value of his business.
  20. Why is Adams still employed?
  21. A fair question. The answer is simple. We have seen enough the last few years to know there is real talent there. He is also on a cheap rookie deal and should be relatively cheap to extend on a bridge deal. He is having a terrible year and he is partially a victim of the lack of playmakers on this team. Is he part of the long-term solution? I don’t know, but patience here is warranted. So why not the same patience with Power or Krebs? Power is being paid like a top D but can’t play defense and there has been no progress in his in zone play. If he was on a 4 mill bridge deal I’d probably counsel patience, but he’s not. We can’t afford guys who don’t pull their contract weight. As to Krebs. He has made strides this season on his effort, but there is still no offense to show for it.
  22. The culture is terrible, but we also don’t have enough or the right kind of talent.
