  1. I think he maybe a better goalie right now then anyone here not named Anderson. I suspect he'll start in Rochester like Miller did his first year and get an occasional callup if he playing well. I also think the Portillo is close behind. I think both are better then UPL right now and the best thing KA could do is clear UPL out to open a path for both Levi and Portillo.
  2. The Minn ice sheet is huge. It’s 200 x 100. Michigan’s is the same as an NHL rink at 200 x 85. Huglen is a very active player. He just made a nice play filling in for a D who pinched to far. I’m enjoying watching him play with Rem Pitlick’s brother Rhett. Cousin Tyler plays for the Canadians. 3-2 Gophers. They’ll play Michigan next Saturday.
  3. He stopped 59 of 60 against UConn on 2/25 in a 3-1 victory. Northeastern’s D must be awful. He has only allowed 7 goals in his last 6 games on 243 shots.
  4. BC had 25 shots on goal in the 3rd.
  5. Johnson with a nice shot that gets tipped for Minn’s first goal in the 1st. Huglen has been very active. Huglen with the primary assist on Minn’s second goal on the PP to start the 2nd period.
  6. I’m going to make a bold statement. KA should trade UPL for a D prospect and sign both Levi and Portillo. Re-sign Tokar to mentor in Roch the camp winner between Levi and Portillo. The loser gets mentored by Houser in Cin. KA’s off-season gameplan would then be to get two vets, say Varlomov or Quick and Georgiev or Samsonov to back up the older vet.
  7. Portillo was pretty good tonight. Honestly Power was invisible on the offensive side of things. He was solid defensively, but he looked like a different player than earlier this season and not in good way.
  8. Why would this be his last opportunity? He’ll be in the NHL next year.
  9. Lighten up Francis.
  10. Murray brought in the wrong type of guys and brought them in to soon in the process. Jack and Sam were rookies. We have a more experienced young core in Tuch, Thomoson, Mitts, Cozens and Dahlin. Unlike then, we know we have needs that can’t be filled adequately by our prospect pipeline. We are desperate for a top 6 RHD and good goaltending. UPL’s AHL save% is still under 900. He just isn’t ready. Fitz and Bryson aren’t really 20 minute a night D. We also have to somehow get to the cap floor.
  11. https://www.denverpost.com/2022/03/12/avalanche-captain-gabe-landeskog-knee-surgery/ Landeskog out indefinitely following knee surgery. How much might they offer for Olofsson if KA is selling? Gabriel's cap hit is $7 mil. I'd take Jost and a 2023 1st for VO and Biro
  12. If Quinn puts up 90 points, he’ll be the most productive forward drafted 8th since Roenick in 1988. Courterier is pretty good however.
  13. If you want to see a more accurate estimate of Luke’s potential see his brother Quinn’s numbers. Does anyone actually think Power will put up 70?
  14. I was talking about the league in general.
  15. We shouldn’t worry about position. BPA is the way! 😁
  16. I’m surprised we haven’t seen more moves already..
  17. I believe Slafkovsky is ready now.
  18. I think he’d have to be on a AHL PTO, but I’m not sure. I do know that he’ll be in Buffalo to burn one year of his ELC.
  19. Levi because odds are they get eliminated before Michigan does. It will be interesting to see if Portillo decides to go back to Michigan next season or not.
  20. Tourney Semi-finals. Michigan pounded MSU in the qtr finals by scores of 4-1 and 8-0. In game 1 Portillo made 22 saves on 23 shots. Power had no points. In game 2 Portillo went 23 for 23 and had 2 assists. Power was again shutout. #2 Mich plays #3 ND at 6:30pm Saturday on the Big10 Network #1 Minn plays #5 Penn St. at 9:00 Saturday on the Big10 Network. Minn had a bye into the semis. Huglen and Johnson should be in the lineup. Also Northeastern also plays on Saturday at 7:30 pm against BC. Levi is 4-1 in his last 5 games with only 5 goals allowed on 195 shots. That's a 974 save %. The one loss was a 0-1 to Vermont. Game is NESN He has to be the Hobey Baker winner at this point.
  21. I’m not making excuses for Jack. I’m a fan that never fully embraced him. I hated the sulking among other things. l also hated the fractured locker room where you were a Jack guy or you weren’t. However I never thought he took a night off or that he didn’t want to win here. But look at the environment the Pegulas created here. 4 GMs, 3 of which were rookies themselves, 6 coaches, never following through with a plan. The franchise in a word has been chaos for a decade plus. I’d have wanted out also. Considering that the crowds have been dwindling for years now and the team has sucked for a decade is there a grain of truth in what he so inelegantly said?
  22. I agree that Jack can be a very spoiled brat and I’m not sorry he’s gone. I’m thrilled with the play and emotion Tuch and Krebs bring each night. Tuch especially hates to lose and it’s evident each game but unlike Jack he doesn’t sulk. However, I didn’t take his comments so negatively. I thought it was an emotional lament from a guy who played hard here and never succeeded. He never was fully embraced by the fans or his teammates (thanks ROR and Kane). I think for a guy who has succeeded at ever level of hockey he played at and then failing here weighs on him terribly. I truly believe he wanted to succeed in Buffalo and the organization really never gave him a legit opportunity to succeed. Sadly Jack’s failures here belong to one person and that is Terry Pegula. He and his incompetent organization dropped this kid in the deep end with weights tied to his legs. I believe that if management had done a proper rebuild around Jack and Sam, we would be a playoff team today. That would have meant bringing in good role models like KO and Pominville and not ROR, Kane, Bogo and Lehner. The Sabres today are a unified lockerroom pulling in the same direction as Anderson said tonight post game. In Jack’s era it was a fractured locker room lead by a-holes. Sadly Jack took his cues from the wrong vets.
  23. Even if they do trade him, it doesn’t mean they can’t re-sign him in the off-season. I have re-signing in both Capfriendly rosters I’ve posted. He fits well here and is great insurance for injuries or struggling kids. I feel like Mitts and VO are rounding back into form. The ESPN announcers were astonished with VO’s wristwr.
  24. Could this be the game we point to as the game this team actually turned the corner and learned how to win?
  25. What a wonderful game. Krebs/Tuch 2 - Eichel 0. 😀 Congrats to Anderson!
