  1. No I confirmed to him that ekblad and reinhart were top two picks and it's mixed bag after that but I don't think the drop off is huge based on what scouts are saying.
  2. Tough to say at this point. For what it's worth those two are pretty much the consensus top 2 but i watch dal colle regularity and would be happy to have him in our system. I think reinhart being a centre also really helps his stock.
  3. Hey, I watch Dal Colle regularly :P Speaking of which he's got another 2 goals and an assist over the two games this weekend so far. Let's see how he does against Windsor tonight....
  4. Tank Nation is still on but let's beat the snot out of T.O. back to back first.
  5. I'll be there and give a loud standing ovation when Ted stands behind the bench. Too bad many season ticket holders probably thought this game would be another train wreck and sold their tickets to leaf fans.
  6. Wow, check out this article for anyone that hasn't heard any audio of Nolan. What amazing quotes, it's like night and day with him and Ron Rol. http://www.wgr550.com/The-Sabres-going-through-the-motions-ends-with-Nol/17753826
  7. If anyone is listening to hockey hotline can you roll out some of what is being discussed?
  8. Good point, we still have a few elephants in the dressing room.
  9. Thank you Terry. It took a bit but you finally listened to your fans. You are still a great owner and I can't wait for this organization to move forward with Patty at the helm.
  10. :worthy: :worthy: Is it too early for a beer?????? Oh wait, I'm 'working'. Should we be giving Bucky some love?
  11. Yep they're a mess right now. Once they get some injured D back things may get better though. If the pick is in the top 10 and they defer to next year it may burn them in the long run. With Charles Wang running an 'internal budge' for his team, who knows if they add anything in the offseason and they likely lose Vanek. From the sounds of this years and next years drafts it may be a blessing in disguise we get next years pick which could end up being another top 10 selection.
  12. Well, Dal Colle was finally held off of the score sheet tonight in a 6-5 loss. Plenty of chances for him from the parts of the game I saw tonight. Hes a big lanky kid. He isn't necessarily the most physical player but will battle and isnt the fastest out there but is usually in great position. I'll be interested to see how he looks at Canada's World Junior camp.
  13. It's partly his line mates as he plays mainly with Laughton and cassels. He still finishes off plays and looks dominate at times. He goes again tonight so I'll let you know what I see.
  14. So vanek left the game with an upper body injury after the first shift. Anyone have an update on his injury?
  15. It's interesting looking back at Darcy's drafts and he seemed to trade away 2nd in multiple years whereas now we've traded for 2nd. It's too early too tell obviously but I have high hopes for some of our 2nd this past draft and the one before. He didn't have 2nd picks in 2002, 2009, 2010 and 2011. I'd say the only 2nd guys that would make your front line list came in 2001 with Jason Pomminstein and Derek Roy in the same draft. Two other notables inlcude Mike Weber and Enroth. Actually, looking through his picks, I think he's done better in the 2nd round than the first. The only notable first rounder he drafted is Vanek. When you think of guys like Miller as late round picks I think Darcy's done better later in the draft than the first round.
  16. I think that was only because Colorado had the top pick. Any other team and it's McKinnon, no brainer. But the Avs are so deep down the middle that it lead some to believe the Avs may go D. Obviously didn't happen as I think everyone and their grandmother had McKinnon as the top pick.
  17. Here's a good article from future considerations. Talks about players to watch and discusses the potential first overall pick and how there is no concensus. Also gives a troubling quote about Reinhart from a Western scout and indicates this is the first time since 2007 there isn't really a consensus at this point. Keep in mind though that Patrik Kane went first overall in '07. http://futureconsiderations.ca/directors-cut-race-for-no-1-wide-open/
