  1. America west was upgraded recently and is no longer configured to host hockey games, so it's out of the question.
  2. The team just needs to average 2000 more per game and that shouldn't be a big issue if they move to Tempe. That's much closer to where the fans are. I'm thinking the Sabres are the team nobody wants to watch, I'd wager Coyotes will have better actual attendance per game than the Sabres this season. Just build the arena in the right area and they'll be fine. Would you drive an hour+ cross town in rush hour traffic on a Tuesday to see a game?
  3. Local guy just bought the team, can't see him selling. They submitted plans for a sports complex in Tempe. Doesn't sound like someone looking to move.
  4. The Tempe site would also include shops, bars, restaurants, so I would think the city put in some cash too. Should have some answers by year end, but they will need to find a place to play for 2 or 3 years. They really need to stay in Glendale til a new arena is built, nowhere else to play.
  5. Imagine our ranking next season after we have #1 pick again in this coming draft.
  6. Can you list the times that Eichel has denigrated the Sabres organization the last several months? And a frown emoji doesn't count. You may have him confused with the majority of posters on this site or the rest of the fans, writers and hockey pundits of the NHL.
  7. Adams did say shortly after the season ended that Jack never asked to be traded. His agents were obviously pretty vocal about it though.
  8. It's been reported that the team doctors feel surgery is /was necessary, just not the kind Jack wants.
  9. That's just 3 months away ,if he has the surgery immediately, fusion is an average of about 6 months for hockey players. I'm thinking they found a trade partner willing to give up the pieces and agreed to Jack's preference on treatment.
  10. The disc replacement surgery is supposed to have him on the ice in 2-3 months, fusion surgery much longer. If the story is accurate, it appears to be disc replacement.
  11. But at some point you have to realize his value is what teams will trade for him. Just like a house, the value is what people pay, no matter how much you think it's worth. A player that is not physically ready to play doesn't have much value.
  12. What I've read recently is that no team has had access to Eichel's medical records. How can any trade take place without that information made available to other teams. Makes no sense to expect a big offer when the other team doesn't know his medical situation?
  13. An agency is likely similar to a law firm. Bill by the hour, the project....
  14. You got us Crozier, you speak from experience.
  15. Call it a tank or not, this team is not designed to win many games this season. Not with the goaltending we have as of today.
  16. I never said he's acting like an ass. He wants out, the Sabres want him out. He's injured , they disagree on the type of surgery required. Would you trust the sabres to make the right health decision for you? It wouldn't surprise me that if they agreed on surgery from the outset, a trade might not be inevitable.
  17. I meant specifically about Eichel, not in general. If someone called Beane about Allen, after he stopped laughing, should Beane discuss what it may take to get Allen, even hypothetically? Of course not. Be careful about using an emoji during negotiations.
  18. https://www.si.com/hockey/the-hockey-news/the-jack-eichel-era-is-heading-toward-a-cliff-in-buffalo https://www.audacy.com/wgr550/podcasts/the-instigators-20259/02-18-sportsnets-elliotte-friedman-357325363 Don't act like nobody here heard any of these stories about teams looking to trade for Eichel before last season. I've read more, you can use The Google if you are really interested. While you read these articles, notice he is referred to as Jack, not John.
  19. "the sabres apparently have been looking to trade him for 2 seasons now" This was my statement. I think you need to look in Websters dictionary to learn what 'apparently" means and what 'definitive' means. They are very different. I based my comment on what I've read, I can't prove it is true, hence, apparently(as far as I know)
  20. I know it from reading articles that the Sabres were listening to other teams asking about him. If you weren't interested in possibly trading, you don't even engage. How serious the talks were, i don't know.
  21. because his behavior hasn't been that bad. He hasn't said anything publicly since the end of season, the sabres apparently have been looking to trade him for 2 seasons now and they're having a disagreement on treatment. Oh and the Sabres organization sucks. He certainly isn't trying to look good, but he's been quiet. The Sabres have messed up everything they've touched for 10 years now. I blame them for everything. It's a frickin sad emoji face. Be serious.
  22. Quite a reaction to an emoji. Jack wants out, the Sabres want him out, why get personal , especially because an emoji. Jesus.
  23. GMKA probably just had a meeting with his agents and told him to get ready for LTIR, that no team is meeting his price.
