  1. Kadri is a bum. A highly touted bum. Blasphemy!
  2. This game is free on the NHL app
  3. I think it would concern you if we were in the playoff hunt and these precious points meant facing #4 seed vs. higher seed or gave a more favorable matchup. The shootout is a skills competition. Last I checked we have guys with skills. Therefore I find our success rate unacceptable. How difficult would it be for DD to run a shootout drill at the end of every practice... bury it and go home, don't bury it and you go again. Make it fun. Encourage creativity. It will also help improve our goalies for this situation too. Lehner could use some SO practice. He's terrible at it.
  4. Dunleavy's announcing is going to give me a heart attack.
  5. It sounds loud in their barn.
  6. Oh hell, the wgr feed must be 30 seconds delayed.
  7. Sh!t, I just tuned into wgr and they scored, sorry guys ????
  8. I wish I was watching this one. Go Sabres ????
  9. As a Clarkson alum, hell yeah David Leggio
  10. I found it hard to believe that Datsyuk and Zetterberg are tied for the team lead in points with 45! This is clearly not the Red Wings of years past. I'd like to see the Sabres bring a physical game where their foot is constantly on the accelerator. Run em in to da ground. Go Sabres! My predictions: O'Reilly regains his scoring touch, Sam continues his sorcery, and Gionta pots a goal.
  11. Sam needs one more point to hit 40. He's having a great year. I really like him on a line with Jack.
  12. That is an egg-cellent idea.
  13. Agree with you Sauve. I saw multiple whiffs with the puck. He also didn't seem to have a ton of power behind his passing. I attribute much of that to being nervous though. He's grossly under weight for his height. A strong power forward will break this guy in half. GMTM will season him up a year or two in ROC.
  14. Jack with 50 points! I'd call it a good rookie season.
  15. I sure hope he stays up with ROR and Kane. It will be an excellent learning experience. I think poor defensive play or a few bad d-zone decisions would be the only reasons he may get relegated to the bottom six. He had a nice first game but it was against a terrible Jets team. Let's see how he handles a quality team. I'm excited for the future. The young guys have certainly put this team on their backs. Sam is just amazing. His ability to pass is unreal. Eichel is such a gifted scorer. He needs to shoot more. His 50 points has me grinning from ear to ear.
  16. Agree, sounds like sour grapes to me. Hell of a debate going on in this thread. My 2-cents. If we go after Stammer (which I'd take in a heartbeat for the right price and term), it cannot handcuff us in 3-4 years when Jack, Sam and Risto are hitting their stride and we need to add quality veteran's for the playoff push. It's as simple as that in my mind. Also, I think Stamkos will put opportunities to win the Stanley Cup above being captain and playing center. At this point in his career it's about making $$$ and winning Lord Stanley.
  17. Nice GDT WC. Are you in school for creative writing? It might be your calling. Can't wait to see just how Big The Johnson is tonight. I bet he fills the crease and then some. Go Sabres!
  18. When Edmonton still sucks in 2 years, does McDavid demand out when his entry level contract expires? I sure as hell would if the team isn't going anywhere.
  19. That was one hell of an exchange. I think I side with LGR. Cooler heads would have prevailed last night but the Sabres allowed themselves to get sucked into an emotional and undisciplined game (likely by design from Therrien). This team is not the weak and feeble team we've watched in the past. They had the superior talent on the ice yet played down to the Habs level and did so recklessly. DD is at fault for not calming them down. They played a great 1st period but penalties derailed them for the remainder of the game. It's hard to keep lines and d-pairings consistent when you have guys sitting in the box for 10 minutes. I think Rayzor was right when he said they just need to fight and get it out of their system. The team is still very young so we have to expect a bit of a roller coaster from game to game until they can develop the level of consistency to win every night and challenge for the cup. That will take time. I see the Sabres in the awkward teenager phase... There's hair on the balls but they don't yet know how to control the hormones. Happy freakin St. Patty's day everyone. I'm surprised there isn't a St. Patty's day thread. I'll be drinking Guinness and eating corn beef and cabbage until intestines explode (literally and figuratively).
  20. :w00t: Nice one.
  21. Also, Rob Ray talking about Bogo's shaft and Jack's "hard and heavy" shot was very PG-13.
  22. Unfortunate loss. I agree with someone who posted above. The Sabres were the better team, more quality scoring chances, more shots, etc. I wouldn't be surprised if Therrien's game plan was to use chippy play to get in the Sabres heads. It's unfortunate the DD couldn't get them calmed down and thinking straight. The quantity of penalties and game misconduct calls was ridiculous. One thing that drives me nuts is when DD puts the 4th line out for an offensive zone faceoff. What is he trying to accomplish? The 2nd unit for the PP is god awful too. I really like the Larsson line. Gionta launching himself into Emelin was awesome. Gionta is much more effective in his 3rd line role. The Foligno goal was a thing of beauty. He seems to have really blossomed this year. Props to Legwand for patiently setting him up. Kane is becoming much more of a distributor. He had a couple really nice passes that lead to good scoring opportunities. I like his game but needs to clean up some of the dumb penalties. Finally, we need Jack to think like Bogo. Holy Christ, Bogo had to have 10+ shots on goal last night. Shoot it Jack... You've got the best shot on the team!!
