  1. I didn’t say he is a good coach. I have never said that. But if you are going criticize the coach, come with something real (there is plenty) instead of some made up trash.
  2. Not even. President. It’s a business management role. Like what Kim Pegula is to the Sabres.
  3. Oh, ok. You are just full of it.
  4. Who TF is a soccer coach?! Does it not even matter if the things that we say are true??? Do you know that Krueger wasn’t a soccer coach, or are you uninformed?
  5. I’ve been saying repeatedly that with them both being so complete offensively, it’s going to more a 50/50 thing with them, not a Eichel feeds Hall thing. They would both be playmaking and both be finishing. They BOTH need to start scoring! But if you want to get annoyed and think I’m saying that Hall is not a goal scorer or whatever, that’s fine.
  6. Hutton. Guess what. It’s not all better now that his eyes are “fixed”.
  7. Cool that he said that, but he shoots the puck way more than anyone on the team, including Hall. Hall and Eichel. It’s not going to be one guy feeding the other all the time. They are both so dynamic that its going to be more fluid/creative than that. Honesty, I couldn’t care less as long as they find a way to make it work. That is, if they end up back together often.
  8. Jack really isn’t that though. Few players in the league shoot the puck more than Jack does. He is top 10 in the league every year. Jack is of course a very good playmaking C, but he shoots the puck A LOT. Honestly, both Hall and Eichel play very complete offensive games. They can both do it all on that end of the ice and I’m wondering if they are trying not to step on each other’s toes when they are out there together. That’s why I, and others think it’s likely they would do better separated.
  9. While, I don’t think that Hall has been great this season, your phrasing here is misleading. Over his career, Hall is as good a puck carrier and playmaker as he is a goal scorer.
  10. Breakaways and shootouts are not the same thing.
  11. So, wasn’t able to watch yesterday, but I caught the highlights this morning. Thoughts........ I don’t think Ullmark has been very good lately, and he didn’t look very good in this game. He is pretty consistently letting in at least 1 bad goal per game. Sabres scored a PP goal with Dahlin, Hall, Olofsson, Lazar and Risto out there. Weird. Was that after Eichel got hit in the face? At one point I would have considered myself a Risto hater, but he has definitely been his best self this season. What does everyone think the difference is for him? How did Dahlin look? Staal looks like he is rounding into form nicely the past couple games. He is slow, but he has a big body, good hands, good shot, and just knows what to do/where to be out there. I don’t expect the scoring pace to continue, but Reider has been better than I thought he would be. He really does bring something that last year’s team lacked. More speed and aggressiveness from the bottom 6. I can’t believe that Reinhart actually missed a game! Did anyone check the obits?
  12. Those unis are terrible. They don’t look appealing, but even from a practical standpoint, they are so dark that from distance it’s difficult to make out the numbers during play. It probably looked better up close in a boardroom than it does on tv, but navy blue numbers, on a navy blue jersey, with gray trim is just a dumb idea. All they had to do was use white (or a cream color like you said) instead of gray to improve these significantly. Also, McDavid’s goal in that game was awesome. He made it look pretty easy though.
  13. Being realistic, it’s just not going to happen. By so far, do you mean 3 games? I think we should give it a few more games. The alternative is paying him $6M with a cap hit of $4.9M to not be on the roster.
  14. People really coming down hard on Okposo. I hope everyone remembers that he is not some AHL bum. He has been a consistently good bottom 6 forward. He was off from action for 10 months, then suffered an injury that kept him out for another 3 weeks. It might take a guy a few games to get back to full speed. And I didn’t even think he looked particularly bad last night.
  15. So, I didn’t watch this, but are we seriously heart aching that Ted Nolan can’t get an NHL job? He has gotten 3 NHL head coaching jobs and reportedly turned down a couple others. Also he has a reputation for being somewhat difficult to work with. How many NHL jobs are enough? Not everyone can get one. It’s hard to get them. I just don’t buy it.
  16. Good post. Every team throws a clunker once in a while. What we can’t do, and what has happened in years past, is turn one bad game into a lengthy stretch of poor play. They need to come back with an answer in their next game. And yes, Eichel’s sub par (for him) play could possibly be traced back to his training camp injury. He missed a few days of practice in training camp, about 3 weeks ago, for an upper body injury. That’s all we know. Could it be something that’s bothering him still?
  17. Hang in there. Hopefully we keep taking small steps back towards “normal” in the next few months.
  18. The whole point of the thread was that their fancy stats were very good, better than their record, and that they have been unlucky. Its not like the game last night proved that wrong. The fancy stats were as terrible as the eye test for last nights game.
  19. Definitely. What I saw didn’t really seem like lack of effort. More like a lack of mental focus or cohesion. Out of sync and a step behind.
  20. I would have guessed something along those lines. I’m always about 60% sure that I understand the meaning. Lol. Don’t get me wrong, I kind of enjoy the mystery of it all. Don’t ever change @spndnchz! The vagueness doesn’t often encourage meaningful discussion though.
  21. You are right. It was an NHL regular season game. Has anyone ever told you 82% of your posts are so cryptic that I feel like a shaman trying to divine the meaning from your words?
  22. Ugh, now you tell us!
  23. Finally, someone with a constructive solution instead of just complaints!
  24. Cool. That’s fine. But you said you didn’t understand what it meant and called it analytics, so I was trying to clarify. Edit: and by the way, I agree with you. If you just finished intently watching the game, then yeah, this chart is probably not going to tell you anything you don’t already know. Especially in a game as lop sided as this one.
  25. Lol, the colored blotches are where shots were taken from. The darker the color, the more shots from that area. Lots of dark color near the goal = good for offensive team No dark color near the goal = bad for offensive team See the big blue spot right in front of the net? Rangers took a bunch of shots from there. That’s bad. Lol, it’s not even analytics. It’s literally just a picture of where shots were taken from.
