  1. Yeah, that hypothetical team probably would be dominating possession and generating goals, but their quality per shot attempt wouldn’t be very good.
  2. I think this is a game where Buffalo needs to stay focused and not get distracted by Caps shenanigans. Caps will probably try to turn this into an uneventful slog and might ratchet up the physicality. Buffalo needs to focus on executing.
  3. Ah, thanks, got it. I forgot HR had that.
  4. Hypothetically scenario to clarify: If a team is leading the league in total shots, with an average number of high danger chances per game and a ton of low danger chances, all those low danger chances will drag down the quality per shot and make their quality per shot low, even if they are generating a pretty good number of high danger chances. So I’m wondering how the Sabres rank in high danger chances per game, as opposed to quality per shot, which that chart presents.
  5. Sorry if you don’t have an answer, but do you know how the Sabres rank in scoring chances for and high danger chances for? I see that this shows the quality per shot is low, but if they are taking lots of low quality shots, but also getting a good number of high danger chances, that’s going to dilute the quality per shot.
  6. Has anyone ever been able to divine so much from watching 4 hockey games? I think not.
  7. I actually agree with this. Asplund could very well be ahead of Mitts in the hearts and minds of the organization, but they are very different players, so it hard to say. Could just depends what type of player Ralph wanted to add to the lineup.
  8. It’s to make sure that teams have some extra fill in players around in case a few guys have to out on short notice. That way they don’t need to postpone games. What part of it is not making sense to you? (I say this without any malice or condescension in tone.)

  10. You are thinking of LTIR. IR is just 7 days, I believe, and usually short term.
  11. I think he has not been impactful. A little disappointing so far. Not terrible though, apart from that one terrible turnover. He seems to have most just been around. I would expect him to get better in coming games.
  12. Someone wasn’t paying attention in class.
  13. Go check those numbers again. Count the goals, then double check them, then ask @SwampD to count them, then check them together, then check one more time. Then come back. Lol, no! 12 goals against -2 empty net goals against = 8 goals allowed by goalies????? MATHS!!!
  14. My brother and sister in law got it. Both lost their sense of smell and taste. They are about 1 month out from losing it, and it’s started to come back this week. Also, a co-worker who had it sort of echoed what PA said about not losing taste fully but only being able to taste saltyness, as opposed to the actual flavor of things.
  15. Yup, just think it’s ok to ease him into it. Let him get like ten games in, then start working him in at C. If it goes great, that’s great! If it’s up and down, take it slow.
  16. Someone send @SwampDsome aloe vera, because he just got burned! 🔥 Maths. It’s what I’m here for.
  17. What exactly are they not allowed to do? The players can not spend time together outside of the facilities? I guess I didn’t realize that.
  18. I see no reason why Cozens shouldn’t be able to a C long term. I’d like to see him periodically get some time at C this season.
  19. Hope none of them get sick, and that the Sabres take advantage of their absence to the tune of 4 points this weekend.
  20. Goalies have not given up an average of two goals per game. 10 goals in 4 games is 2.5 goals per game.
  21. Last year he played about 10 games in the AHL and was mostly quite bad. Looks like he has been ok in Liiga, but not great. I see no sign that he is ready for the NHL. I would feel better about JJ or Tokarski in the Sabres net to be honest.
  22. You had your mind made up on this before the players touched the ice this season.
  23. I think that in this game, they did do it with regularity. Better than the Flyers did.
  24. It depends. At the pro level maybe not. Maybe coaching kids though. I think someone can still love hockey and also be ready to move on from it being the all encompassing thing in their life.
  25. I just really don’t think this is true. Sabres created a lot of good scoring chances. That’s not what I saw. Sabres were getting the puck to the goal area and creating dangerous chances. I am surprised that so many people are not seeing that.
