Eichel to Meet with Sabres to Discuss Options regarding Neck Injury Next Week
Curt replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
True, I was more alluding to the idea that he may quickly back off the stance of wanting surgery after being traded. -
Using Dobbers tool comes out to 27 for Beniers and 17 for Power. So, Pi, how is 17 for Power going to change the future of this franchise?
-
For me, I’m definitely looking for a type, and I haven’t seen a lot of separation between the 5-6 guys at the top of this draft, so I’ve been locked into the guy who fits that type, whether it’s at pick 1-2-3.

Eichel to Meet with Sabres to Discuss Options regarding Neck Injury Next Week

If you talk to enough doctors, you can find one who tells you what you want to hear. Who is telling him to get the surgery? Someone he went to for a 3rd, 4th opinion? -
It seems like majority are on board with taking Power. I many more have talked themselves into him than vice versa. I think as the season has gone on, Power seems to have improved a lot. Personally I think I’m going to need to reevaluate from where I was a couple months ago. I like Beniers a lot, but I want to take another look at Power vs Clarke and Hughes.

Of course he only wants to be drafted by one team. How could he even get drafted by more than one? It couldn’t even work. He is only mailing letters to 31 teams because Arizona got their first round pick taken away. This is all pretty obvious stuff guys. Don’t know what the fuss is about.

If this board is to maintain consistency, the posts that make up this discussion should be moved to the politics club. The conversation would need to continue there.
-
Correct. He can refuse a trade to certain teams, but expansion draft is a whole different deal. No protection from that. A full NMC offers expansion draft protection.
-
With the scouting department in shambles, it’s not really the top pick I worry about. Plenty of time will get allocated to looking at those top guys and there is lots of accessible information out there. It’s the rest of the draft that could really suffer, with players falling through the cracks.
-
Honestly hope this is true, because it means that Adams is some sort of master manipulator.
-
No. KO wouldn’t need to waive his limited no trade clause, because he isn’t being traded. In the scenario presented, he is being selected in the expansion draft, in which he doesn’t need to be protected.
-
I don’t think they would care. NHL players don’t care about prospects. They care about actual good NHL players, not guys who might be good players two years from now.
-
NMCs require protection, and take up one of the protected slots. NTCs do not require protection.
-
I was hoping to open this a see only “Find your own information. Thank Hoss.”
-
What did he say about Power?
-
I highly doubt that. We don’t even know if he is going to be good. FA goalies will be interested in $, term, location, and players who are actually good NHLers now.
-
He fell. Was expected to go in, I’ll say, 6-12ish range. Suffered semi serious injury towards end of draft year, and fell to 17, I think. Recovered and played awesome.
-
First thing I thought of too.
-
I’m not at all excited by this win. The team is bad and to my eye there are about 6 guys in the same tier at the top of the draft. I would be ok with any of them, but I personally favor Beniers for his play style.
-
When is the last time you spoke to him?
-
They are not similar players. If you want to make the comparison in that way, Beniers put up better scoring numbers, while being a year younger (18 vs 19) while also playing a better 200 ft game.
-
What are you talking about? He said they are looking for the player who will be best at age 22-23. That makes total sense and is boiler plate GM speak anyway. I don’t see all the negativity that you are getting from it.
-
Or........... 1- Trade Risto tomorrow 2- Protect Dahlin, Jokiharju, Borgen in expansion 3- Run heavy minute pairs of Dahlin-Borgen, Power-Jokiharju for the next several years. Quote should have been “Here Terry, hold my beer.”
-
Huh, so they got #1 pick.
