  1. Gotcha. I saw his name mentioned a few times in this thread and was trying to figure out if I was missing something.
  2. Am I the only one that doesn't want Pacioretty? On the last year of his deal and he's already 29, why would we want to get older and also pay him a premium as he turns 30?
  3. Considering Marek tweeted out that the Juolevi rumors are wrong, but didn't say anything about McLeod, maybe it really was McLeod?
  4. Now that the warm weather is back, I’ve been treading into unfamiliar waters recently. I’ve been wanting some fruity/juicy beer but not too sweet, so I’ve tried a few IPAs. Now I’ve never been a fan of IPAs, so anything that isn’t along the lines of a New England style IPA is still too hoppy and bitter for me. But I’ve enjoyed Blue Point citrus plunge, Flying Bison Juice caboose, and Great Lakes cloud cutter.
  5. When it was announced I was pumped and screamed like a 13 year old girl, but watching this video for the first time in about a month reminded me just how incredible this is. HOLY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. Bought myself Glenmorangie 12 Quinta Ruban that I'm waiting to open after I graduate with my Master's. Never had it before, but I've heard nothing but great things about it. If anyone likes the flavor of cherries and is looking for a good budget buy, Jim Beam Distiller's Cut is a nice option. I know, I was skeptical too with it being a Jim Beam product, but the bourbon is aged 5-6 years and it has a lot of barrel flavor with a hint of cherries after that barrel punch goes away. $26 for a bottle with bourbon aged up to 6 years is a good value to me.
  7. That's what I was envisioning, but I'm a casual fan so I really don't have much basis behind me thinking that's where he would fit in
  8. Yeah that's what I figured. I'm especially excited for Olofsson though. His stick handling and his shot just scream NHL. I think he would get an immediate position on the team's 2PP line whenever he is called upon to join the big club
  9. That's an excellent post. Does anyone else think this might just be a placeholder until this next offseason passes and he has more numbers available to him? Or is the 37 here to stay? Either way, if he pans out like I think he will, I'll be getting a MIttelstadt sweater once the Sabres re-do their blue on the home jerseys for their anniversary
  10. Are we expecting Olofsson to go straight to the big club, or start out in Rochester and get acclimated to the North American game for a season? I am very excited at the idea of his scoring touch being added to the Sabres, but don't want to assume he can make such a big leap in one offseason.
  11. Oh wait, just went back and saw that's why you would need to sit down with him. I mis-remembered the post. Either way, even if he has the right mindset, it won't allow him to place the ball any better than he does now which is sub par.
  12. If this made any logical sense, then why hasn't he improved his accuracy yet with his superb mindset?
  13. Agreed. I don't worry too much about certain aspects of playing QB, like throwing motion. As long as the release is quick over the top, I can put up with a bit of a windup and the bottom of the motion. But accuracy? That's something you're born with. Can a QB coach refine mechanics and footwork to help create some consistency? Sure, but that may adjust your completion percentage by 2 or 3% max.
  14. Doesn't matter how humble he is or what discipline is there... Dude can't hit the side of a barn
  15. Rosen or Darnold. If they jump up into the top 5 and take any other QB I'll be extremely disappointed
  16. I hate it too. Sends everyone into a frenzy. I'm expecting it to be a trade for a vet QB. I'm afraid it's a trade that we give up some sort of valuable asset. Who knows, but I think Sal wouldn't choose that emoji if it was a resoundingly positive rumor he was hearing.
  17. Sal just tweeted a cryptic thinking emoji. Tim Graham had some cryptic tweets yesterday as well... Something is cooking, but it doesn't seem to be positive. Maybe I'm just jaded. Also Jeremy just tweeted about wanted another trade so maybe Sal shared some info with him. https://twitter.com/SalSports/status/973911649458499584
  18. Watkins and Benjamin would be perfect complements to each other. Dream scenario
  19. There wasn't a follow up question to that portion of his answer. I would assume he's intentionally speaking in generalities with it being the offseason and not wanting to tip his hand too much. But you never draft players assuming they will move on from the team if they're successful. You assume your most successful coaches will move on from the team because it happens every single year as coaches receive promotions from other teams
  20. I knew this would happen after not watching this team for a few weeks...
  21. In some cases, GMs actually do just fail to evaluate properly regardless of scheme of the OC... Here's a quote from Brandon Beane just a few days ago via the Buffalo News on what to look for in a QB for Daboll's scheme specifically: Q: How much of a fit is the coordinator and the QB, given coaches change? A: We're looking for good football players at every position. Yes, coaches move on. So we've got to draft a good football player who fits the Buffalo Bills. You're exactly right, Brian could be a head coach somewhere. Yeah, I'm not just going to draft a guy who only fits what Coach Daboll does. Source: http://buffalonews.com/2018/02/28/brandon-beane-qa-bills-gm-on-new-cb-ransoms-combine/ Beane has said in the past that he wants a QB that wins from the pocket and can make plays in the pocket, but honestly what GM doesn't want that?
  22. Right, it's not so much worrying about us being the first to draft a QB. It's more so ensuring that our GM is hellbent on getting the best QB he possibly can, whether that be trading up or sticking back because he knows the guy he thinks is the best isn't being properly identified by other GMs. Either way, I want total conviction in the guy they draft and I want him on record saying it so the fan base knows the plan was executed. And if they can't get the QB or two (or three) that Beane labeled a potential franchise guy, I don't want him taking any QB early. Either believe in your heart and soul in the guy or don't waste an early pick trying to convince yourself otherwise.
  23. I'm with this. I'm all for making a move up this year and getting "the guy" if the GM is completely convinced that a guy at the top is a premier prospect. I'd much rather see that than to sit back and hope that the 4th guy ends up being better than the rest. Now, if Beane's evaluation leads to the conclusion that someone like Rudolph is truly the premier prospect and he know he can wait and get him, then fine. But he better articulate the fact that he felt Rudolph was the best prospect in the class regardless of scheme after doing that
