I think they were griping the sticks to hard. A lot of missed and fumbled passes. Hope Lindy can get the nerves settled down for the game tomorrow -

I am really glad that hockey is back!!! GO SABRES -
UPL had a great last half of the season. I hope he can continue that thru next season. Unfortunately once again ka has pinned our hopes on making the playoffs on hoping. He's hoping UPL continues his good play from last year. It would be nice to make the playoffs on proven skill and not hope so. So I voted no. Sure hope I'm wrong

I believe we only missed the playoffs by 1 point in 2023. So you believe granato and not goaltending cost us one point. I am thrilled to have lindy as coach
-
We also may very likely have bee in the playoffs

I guess free agent frenzy has fizzled 😅

Rehashing the Eichel fiasco 😎

Trade: C Ryan McLeod - Oilers for Matt Savoie
sabresouth replied to tom webster's topic in The Aud Club
I like this trade. I didn't think KA had it in him. Pretty low bar... Ok KA now get a top 6 forward -
Welcome to KA clown world
-
Agreed Thorny, if you don't make the playoffs, players don't want to come. You have to pay whatever now and then once you're winning, players will want to come here. We'll maybe not with current management.
-
I have no faith in KA. Will be shocked if a major deal gets done. Skinner was our 6th highest point getter last season at 46 points. Not sure KA can even muster a trade to bring in another 46 point player to replace him. One step forward, two steps back😒
-
Agree, a lot of players don't want to come to Buffalo. Which means KA will have to over pay, and a lot of people on here griping that he hasn't done anything will be griping that he overpaid for player x. I'm not sure KA has the fortitude needed to make that kind of move. So I think we are in for another disappointing season. Our only hope is if Ruff can make him pull the trigger.
-
I am kinda surprised at how fast this went down. But I believe ka had already talked to potential coaches before the season ended. So apparently he didn't want any playoff coaches that might come available. So the decision on ruff was pretty much made by the time dg was fired IMHO

I like this hire. He is what this team desperately needs. I think this team will take the next step next year.
-
For example, I like UPL. Since January he has been excellent. But we had to go through last year and half of this year to get it. With a top tier goalie last year and this, we would have been in the playoffs both years. Sometimes we don't have to wait to make a significant impact.

I agree, large steps aren't needed. But specific steps in certain areas are. And in times past KA has seemed slow on the draw to fix things. Just hoping he doesn't do that this off season
-
Yeah, to clarify, I should have said necessary steps
-
I am concerned that KA won't go far enough on the player acquisition side this off season. He seems to be a too little too late kinda gm. Always one step behind where he should be. On a side note, management has said in the past that they will do whatever it takes to win a cup. But in KA's press conference he specifically stated they didn't make some moves because they didn't like the money or contracts. I get it you don't want to be stupid but you know there could have been trades made in the past couple of years that would have fallen under the "whatever it takes" area to make this team a contender the last two seasons and they didn't happen. Hopefully KA thinks his job is in jeopardy and is willing to take large steps instead of baby steps.
