  1. This.
  2. Okay. Guess I've had impressions that his work ethic/attitude may be questioned. In any case I'm not adverse to trading him and not promoting it either.
  3. Please offer why we should at this time be up on him. So far,by most accounts, he's not performed like you would hope someone drafted that high would even at this early time.
  4. I guess the good news is how can we be worst? We are almost last in the whole league and by the end of season may very well be.
  5. Of all the problems we have he's just a small part. But he'll be gone and we'll complain about the next guy. Don't take this wrong Lehner isn't that great but on this roster.......not as bad as some.
  6. Can't disagree here but going on assumption team doesn't feel they can sign Kane or Kane doesn't want to sign then get what you can. Also have long believed he won't fetch what a lot on here think but get the most you can. We've lost with him and we'll lose when he's gone.
  7. If he plays another game gets serious injury I'll be very interested to see reaction on here.
  8. Yes, in general , they do. They also owe it to fans to build the best team and to protect their assets. If you're not keeping Kane then you need to get the best deal you can for him. Serious injury could hurt this especially for meaningless games. Are the Rangers wrong for holding out Nash? Not in my mind their not.
  9. Knowing Sabres they play Kane who then suffers serious injury. JBot and Phil explain the stupid decision to play Kane by saying they owe it to the paying fans to ice best team possible.
  10. I'm looking logically. You're looking hopefully.
  11. Exactly which makes his value greater than pure rental. That seems to being ignored by some Sabre fans. Kane's a rental and one known for getting in hot water from time to time although he's been good for awhile now.I would be surprised if we got a return equal to what Brassard fetched and he's a center to boot.
  12. Why? Ones a center Kane is a wing. If Pittsburgh was looking for only a center that wouldn't involve Kane plus fans rumor mill had Pittsburgh interested in Kane.
  13. I think Dreger is usually well informed. Frankly I'm willing to accept what he said and the interest in Kane has only now started to pick up. Kane's being #1 on a network trade tracker isn't relevant necessarily as to what GM's are doing or talking about. Huge gulf between sports media and what's actually happening often times.
  14. Bet his value was about the same. We're lucky he didn't get a serious injury though.
  15. Agree. Can't imagine why they would. Other than it's the Sabres. Frankly surprised that Botterill is having him play. First occasion I've had to question him as our GM.These are meaningless games. Sorry seems stupid.
  16. This is what I've kind of thought it would be.
  17. Yeah, at this point Sabres are crazy to play him. Pretty obvious it would seem he'll be traded so why risk injury in totally meaningless game. If he were to get hurt JBot and Phil would look foolish.
  18. This is pretty much my feeling.
  19. Possibly low first rounder.
  20. I agree but why do I have the feeling that next Tuesday morning after nothing significant happens with deals poor Botterill will be hammered away at for not getting enough or not doing enough. Trade deadline day is exciting for fans and media to speculate and discuss then be let down about in most cases it seems.
  21. I think it does mean something. Kane is not nor has he ever been as high as we would like to believe.
  22. Exactly how I feel.
  23. I think any evaluations should have been completed by Thanksgiving or first part of December. The question is not who the core players are as much as how do we get better depth wise. That has to be drafting well and development. Unfortunately that usually takes time and good scouting and development coaching. Trades and free agency are not good plans in my opinion.
  24. I'm going to be 75 years young on the seventh of next month and this post hits the nail squarely on the head for me.
  25. I think this team's troubles are deeper than learning to play together and win. The player talent is much more the problem I think. Depth wise we're pretty shallow both offensively and defensively.
