  1. 17-4-1 is the mark we need, would get us to 89 and a shot at it
  2. Even if we remove the 13 game streak from our pace calculation we are are 89 point team. And, of course, it doesnโ€™t work thst way
  3. Red Wings and Senators both now currently out of a playoff spot. Hopefully not used as evidence for why making the playoffs is โ€œhardโ€. But those teams are also sad sacks. Not close to our level, but very bad Yzerman should be well gone
  4. The final playoff spot is currently sitting at a pace of 89 points ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ
  5. I canโ€™t quote my post cause the search seems to be down currently but I agree, and in more ways than one. Iโ€™m not signing up for another Adams season unfortunately, if they bring him back
  6. The ability of guys like Thompson to snipe corners at the nhl level is one of the biggest reasons Levi has struggled in making the transition. In a one game anything can happen but Iโ€™d be surprised
  7. Byram is so so bad away from Dahlin FIRE ADAMS already yeesh
  8. Sabres are 19th in even strength goal differential this year 5 V 5 is way too narrow and pidgeonholed to matter for much of anything on its own: as we can see borne out in the results Good even strength team is a myth, and using 5 V 5 is less relevant - - - people use a narrowed โ€œ5 V 5โ€, sometimes even just โ€œ5 V 5 gfโ€ to claim the issues are purely special teams or even that the forwards are ok: it doesnโ€™t work like that. There are more forms of even strength and thereโ€™s more to the game than offence even strength goal differential for Adams: โ€˜25: 19th โ€™24: 17th โ€˜23: 19th โ€˜22: below 25th (had to pay for more) โ€˜21: below 25th โ€ฆthis is supposed to be our calling card? We are 5 years in people. Below average even strength play. This is why we miss the playoffs: we pretend a stat that has us sitting around mid-pack once means enough to make large generalizations about what we need and willingly choose as narrow a focus as possible so as to paint a brighter picture
  9. Detroit and Ottawa are both going to miss the playoffs and weโ€™ll have to hear about how itโ€™s not that bad cause they also suck
  10. The team is subject to emotional roller coasters both ways that manifest in play owing to the fact we are a young team and young teams are rife with growing pains this is often the natural order of things and is ok if itโ€™s a means to building a team: but we are the youngest every year. Itโ€™s not a means to an end: we are simply young by choice
  11. Iโ€™d be listening. And Iโ€™m not a blow it up guy - we just need some substantial tweaking
  12. Type of game we battle back and hear about turning points
  13. Adams heard he was getting some praise for the Greenway acquisition at that one deadline so heโ€™s running it back
  14. If only the culture that arises around a franchise that willingly ingrains the idea of winning not being the priority was imminently predictable years ago..
  15. โ€œThe new 4th line!โ€
  16. Exactly. Iโ€™ll keep saying it: โ€œwinning tradesโ€ is the province of rebuilding teams. โ€œWinning gamesโ€ is the province of good teams. Adams makes some good trades but clearly, as you point out, not by the prism of the construction of the whole. We are supposed to be measuring by results now, right? Evaluate trades (and lack there of) relative to the affect they had on winning or lack there of. Not purely through the context of asset comparison.
  17. The team averaged 76 points per season over Adamsโ€™ first 4 seasons The Sabres are pacing for, checks notesโ€ฆ.*76 points* this season. Do we think, maybe, we are a 76 point team under Adams?
