  1. Today I’m wearing the daily deal $ 31.49 https://shop.nhl.com/buffalo-sabres/mens-buffalo-sabres-starter-royal-mesh-look-team-name-t-shirt/t-25041675+p-795579572128740+z-9-303297964?_ref=p-TLP:m-DDEAME:pi-SLEEPER_2:i-r0c0:po-0
  2. I can’t understand the question. A.I. Artificial Intelligence (or simply A.I.) is a 2001 American science fiction film directed by Steven Spielberg. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/A.I._Artificial_Intelligence
  3. My post wasn’t in opposition to yours Avatar looks good
  4. We’ve lost 7 “must win” games in a row and yet find ourselves with another. Proving, a) the ridiculous overuse of the term b) the fact the next win, *whenever* it comes, will be met with renewed talk of being “back?”. Could be today, could be next game. Hoping to make a run at it, though, because making the playoffs will never be easier. There’s just zero excuse Ya see right here
  5. We know Adams is wholly unqualified. *that’s one of the largest pieces of evidence of Terry’s failures*, the puppet/first-timer GM after two other first time GMs. You can throw out every single bad decision during his 5 years of bad results as if he’s had no say at all (which is absurd), and he’d *still* be an awful choice based on his original credentials. Furthermore, part of EVERY GM’s job is managing the relationship with the owner and convincing them of the proper way to do things: we indisputably know this is not something Adams is capable of. This is the plan and strategy Adams *signed up* to implement. I get your continued insistence to point out that “Pegula has to go too” and I agree. But I can see the “what can Adams have even done? Let’s give him another shot” Trojan horse underneath and I’m not buying it
  6. I agree. The “who even is there?” line of thought is a straw man, we don’t need to find a star. We’ve seen the difference competent veterans like Zucker can make again, the goal for this year is still right there. With the right supplementations playoffs have been there every year for the taking. And therein lies the frustrations of failing to properly supplement going on 5 years in a row under Adams
  7. The fact we are only 3 points out is rather insane, and a sizeable silver lining. To have failed so horribly for so long and find ourselves only 3 points away from the goal is a solid microcosm of the drought. What we want is still *right there.*
  8. Agree, never liked the “if we just erase these 3 games” line of thought. It looks like Adams’ plan has resoundingly failed. I know I said he should get the full 5 years, but on the heels of 7 straight losses with the season still hypothetically salvageable…it’s probably time
  9. I see a whole swath of good options when the comparison is Kevyn Adams
  10. Don’t really think we really need to delve much into theory. The owner and GMs have all been really bad. That’s the one easy thing about putting up a run of historical ineptitude. It’s a broad brush, no one’s safe
  11. From the Buffalo news re: Botterill https://12ft.io/proxy
  12. lol yes there’s probably a reason the owners didn’t say “Botterill wouldn’t fire people”. We already know the reason is because Botterill wouldn’t cut staff
  13. No one is arguing anything else, though, no one thinks Adams is poor but Terry is a good owner. Or not responsible for hiring that poor GM and ones like him. The players aren’t good enough, because they were assembled by a GM who isn’t good enough, because he was hired by an owner who isn’t good enough at picking GMs. Just because we know Adams is incompetent doesn’t mean firing him guarantees his replacement would better. But you ask your GM to makes moves to improve your team until you they are no longer the GM - even through their track record in team building is one of failure to that point. Much the same way, If Terry is the owner, the hope is that he can pick a better GM or even agrees to one day pick someone with experience. It’s obviously not impossible he can a) get lucky or B) hire someone better than bottom of the barrel Adams. there’s no harm is trying, because while we know Adams to be a poor GM we don’t know to a certainty a new hire couldn’t break differently. If Adams is a total complete “yes” man you can’t hire a yes-ier guy obv a new owner is the best option - but if a new one isn’t an option then trying something is better doing literally nothing: than replicating the same process leading to disastrous results over and over again. Of course I was highly critical of Adams this past summer but I wasn’t saying “don’t make any moves this summer cause it won’t make a difference, cause he’s proven his past efforts were futile.” I wanted him to try. Most are saying the same thing with the GM. But I also think almost all think a different Owner/Owner philosophy would serve best. at the end of the day the buck always stops at the top and that’s TP
  14. No, he fired Botts because he wouldn’t trim the staff What you said in your last paragraph is literally the job of the GM and yes we need someone who can manage the owner and convince him of the right way to do things: we know to a certainly that the unqualified Adams is not capable of that. As I mentioned in my post you quoted, the hurdle is pegula agreeing to hire this GM
  15. There are veteran GMs with winning track records (if you consider merely making the playoffs winning (and I do)) currently out of jobs. Even a GM position in Buffalo is more attractive than not having one at all, I’d say. The hurdle imo is it being an idea Pegula is actually interested in
  16. Yes, I’d say the issue is less so Jack Quinn himself as it was the role and production he was being counted on for based on ~ one full-season’s worth of NHL games played
  17. The Buffalo Sabres will be fine
  18. Thank you for saying the quiet part out loud. accept and be happy with whatever hockey team we have, no matter what.
  19. TLJ is very nearly a masterpiece but yes
  20. No one tweeted because Twitter wasn’t a thing
  21. That’s a thing, too: their one claim to fame is that their drafting has been ok? I’m not even sure how well that’s holding up, but even granting that for the sake of argument: the one thing they are good at is the biggest crapshoot where going with the consensus would have a team lose little, anyways. They have no competence in areas that allow us to claw back into it. Doing ok by the 7 picks you make that everyone else gets too is so far from enough demonstrably
  22. Last Harry Potter book wasn’t even out yet
  23. Saying you need creativity to fix this honestly undersells how incompetent they are. It actually doesn’t require much creativity. They are *historically bad* for a reason. They have astronomically deficient dunces manning the important spots id be surprised if I couldn’t throw a stone around here and hit someone who could do a better job. I’m not kidding - I think more people than not could do better. These are stupid people
