  1. Dahlin also got to play behind..I dunno, Scandella? Whereas Power got to play behind...oh, Rasmus Dahlin
  2. Excellent thank you very much. Glad to see my memory isn’t shot yet
  3. No he was not. This is a false narrative surrounding Dahlin’s rookie year due to some of the regression we saw in the second half defensively his *sophomore* season, which then became a full blown issue under Krueger. The starting point was actively beaten down for a little while His advanced D metrics season 1 were all solid. Not to mention the fact it’ll probably take Power his first 3 post draft seasons to put up the production Dahlin did in 1
  4. maintain the shutout, win 3-0 while getting terrible shooting luck even as we pepper Binnington with shots, while the regression to the mean comes Thursday and our offence explodes again against Hellebuyck as I rain down the boos and laughter at him from the stands on Thursday or score more now and bunch then too whichever
  5. Totally disagree. Dahlin was one of the better dmen in the nhl and one of our best statistical players at *18*. Power was in school. Dahlin was better at 18 than Power is now, at *20*. Dahlin had a slump under Krueger, that’s it
  6. One of the more positive and interesting stories of the season continues re: abundant forward health I feel the most optimistic when I think about Power and Cozens, because those are two guys we could reasonably hope to amount to being a team’s best D man and F respectively, and that neither is projected to be or expected to be for us is where the real excitement comes in
  7. I’d much rather win Thursday if I can only have 1, but I’d certainly take both
  8. I really hope something in their training is somehow a factor and it’s not just random luck
  9. Forward health is a bit of a factor, too. We’ve been exceptionally healthy upfront as opposed to last season, where we had a more normal result For me there isn’t much drop off from the Girgs to the Asplunds and Hinostozas at least, in fact I’d probably play Asplund above him by choice. One or two injuries and both are back in and it could be top 9 if a C goes down (Asplund fill in for, say, Jost). But to you’re point when healthy, the top 9 in particular doesn’t look “crackable” for your average adequate 4th line guy which is real progress too
  10. Skinner Thompson Tuch Peterka Cozens Quinn Mittelstadt Jost Olofsson Girgensons Krebs Okposo Kulich Savoie Rosen ..our 5th line is going to get great matchups next season Will absolutely feast
  11. And he simply plays more minutes. That’ll only increase in the playoffs. In that vein I think it’s just naturally easier for a D man or a goalie to be your MVP. Tage has a good argument becomes he simply scores so many goals. But on a well constructed team with depth (that we have) we probably have at least 8 other forwards in the lineup who have, at least, the job of trying to do what Tage does: they are players who’s strengths primarily or at least equally rely on contributing offence. With a deep offence more likelihood the slack gets picked up to at least a reasonable degree, if Tage has a low sh% night How many guys do we have even trying to do what Dahlin does for this team? Power? Bryson I guess? Dahlin’s the foundation.
  12. Don’t get your picture up till you complete a game in which you scored a goal
  13. I could theoretically be in attendance when the Sabres hypothetically move into a playoff spot on Thursday
  14. That save by Anderson on Kiviranta was nuts
  15. Glad we went for the W and started the guy who gave us the best shot assuming UPL was being saved for tomorrow. Power getting his first is good timing
  16. That finding a way to get at least a point actually matters is kinda refreshing
  17. First season ever where he’s being keyed on as “the guy” by the opposing team over 82 games. He’ll have ups and downs learning to deal with that and his downs aren’t a dearth of play by any means
