  1. Surprised at the angst on this one in a vacuum. Pushing this to OT was always our best shot
  2. Skinner having the longest playoff drought and being on buffalo is hilarious
  3. Gotta say, if we push this to OT, I like our chances given recent precedent
  4. Sabres 6-2 in last 8 vs Toronto
  5. Only 8 back with a W? Is this real life?
  6. Would it make you feel better about missing the playoffs this year if Detroit misses too?
  7. As a right shot, he’s sticking out like a sore thumb
  8. W tonight and the playoff push is back on
  9. You’re the one in the wrong thread! 😃
  10. Mittelstadt for Byram….boom He’s not even in Buffalo yet!
  11. I think this deal more so proves the “can’t get good players” idea false. It proves the “you have to pay up for them” idea true The actual structure of the deal is actually quite promising 1) we traded someone liked 2) going with the idea it is indeed a “now” trade, it demonstrates a willingness to perhaps “lose” a trade from a perception standpoint, raw current production standpoint to WIN the war by addressing a need. I don’t know if I agree with the execution, namely, whether a left shot perhaps injury riddled player addresses said need, but, the method behind the madness is extremely encouraging 3) hockey trade I quite like the mechanics behind the deal. I might like the mechanics of the deal enough that even irrespective of my evaluation of the actual components, I’m glad we made it
  12. Bolded is definitely possible. I’d say likely. Thinking about it, almost assuredly: my bias is definitely to lean towards thinking that’s where the prioritization is, based on the fact otherwise would represent a change of what we have seen up until this point. Or, at least up until this season. I still think their internal expectation was playoffs this season, but there are some who argue otherwise. The idea that Adams thinks Byram represents an upgrade on Casey for next season outright is certainly a plausible (and preferable) one. So I suppose *that’s* what I’m actually looking for to be the case. I was simply drawn to expecting otherwise
  13. They can, yup. Also doesn’t appear to be linear given Byram’s trajectory this far Would an appropriate return for Malkin in his prime be one relative to his production or relative to his designation as 2C?
  14. Isn’t this just semantics? I don’t care if Casey is the 14th C if he’s our best forward If he’s producing the most Doesn’t actual result supersede frivolous arbitrary line designation?
  15. Bo Burnham Bob Burnquist Andrew Bynum Bo Byram
  16. @Hankim sort of searching for arguments here detailing why Byram will improve our team for next season relative to Casey, to make me feel better, so if you’ve got one, I’d in seriousness love to hear it No, he’s our 1C right now Edit: was
