I want the Sabres to get 1st and pick Dahlin. You guys need Dahlin and deserve 1st. If the Oilers win, I will ... Risto and Dahlin would make a nice 1st pairing.

Getting Laine was huge but Chevy drafted well before and after. He traded dwon last year so Vegas wouldn't take anyone and ended up picking up Vesalainen. A guy that will challenge to make the team next year. Connor at 17th overall was a nice pickup. What I like is the fact that they are letting them ripen and learn the pro game with the Moose until they are ready. It is a unique market that let them lose knowing they needed time to build a team because the cupboards were dry when they got here from Atlanta. Jets are getting blown out 5-1 by the Hawks right now.

The trade is only part of the reason the Jets are having success this year. The Jets have drafted very well and aren't rushing their youngsters. The addition of Kuli and Mason (when healthy) were MUCH needed. Connor will have 30 goals as will Ehlers and Laine and they are all still on their ELCs. Chevy and Maurice have showed patience and let the youngsters make mistakes while they developed and it is paying off this year. Morrissey is also on is ELC and is our 1LHD. Our starting goalie tonight, Comrie, has started in 130 AHL games and will probably play one more year for the Moose before coming up full time. Myers has played well offensively but he is gone as soon as Trouba re-signs. He is horrible in is own zone and I won't miss him or his 5.5m cap hit. Armia couldn't beat out Laine or Wheeler on the right side and has been on the 3rd and 4th line all year...plays the PK and has seen time on the PP. He can dominate some shifts and then you don't notice him for a period or two. If he were more consistent, he'd be a really good player. Roslo is going to be a great player. Defensively responsible and has showed signs of putting up points. He has sat the last few games because injured players came back and Maurice opted for Tanev over Roslo. I would guess it is because Tanev plays the PK and has more experience. Lemieux is playing well in the AHL but I have never liked his character. Rumors are coming out now about his attitude and character. I was hoping he would have been traded at the TD to be honest. I think we won the trade also because of who we lost. Kasdorf hasn't amounted to anything but that was obvious at the trade. I've said enough about Kaner but I would hate to have Bogo and his contract right now. Chevy is hoping that salary cap goes up.

The fact that the Sabres didn't offer Kaner a new deal and they only had one offer on him should tell you all you need to know. Hell, Myers would get more back than Kaner did.

Kulikov re-injured his back...same injury as when with the Sabres. Out at least 8 weeks with back surgery. I'd say we see him next fall in TC. Trouba came back last game and Scheifele and Lowry about to come back and Enstrom probably playing Sunday. We are starting to get healthy just in time. It would be nice if one of the backup goalies came back soon.

GMTM tried to do it too fast and traded away too much of the future. You shouldn't be trading away first round picks like he did. I hope you guys get Dahlin this summer because he will help with the rebuild enormously and it is about time the ball bounced your way. If Deadmonton wins the lottery again, I will effin scream.

Jets challenge and lose and get a penalty and the Preds score on the ensuing PP and win the game by one goal (the first game the Jets lost in regulation after winning after the second this year). How is that not goaltender interference when he breaks his stick over the goalies' helmet let alone not a penalty???

De Haan is an UFA and would probably sign for 5 or 6 x 5m...I think he is a great 2LHD.

The first thing you have to remember is there is no greater sports team than the Leafs. The second thing you have to remember is there is no greater city than Toronto. The third thing you have to remember is that, contrary to popular belief, the sun is not the center of the universe, Toronto is. This is a fine start to not even beginning to read an article about this team. How long without a cup and one of the richest teams in the league...even wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy before the cap? Pathetic. I didn't mind them when Sittler and co. played (Ballard was an idiot) or Keon and Ellis and the boys but not one of my favorite sports organizations. Kadri and Reilly are gamers but that's about it. The Leafs have largely done well because Shanahan cleaned out most of the bad contracts and the team has drafted not too bad mainly because of having higher draft picks. They also picked up a good goalie and a good coach (which seems to go hand in hand). They have to be very careful of overpaying Matthews.

The most important thing is too pay the most extra you can at the beginning of the mortgage. all things being equal. Don't forget, most areas of Canada has much less expensive real estate than the Buffalo area.

Kaner didn't help himself by crapping the bed for the last how many weeks? Believe me when I say that the Sabres are a better team without him. The racism angle is a load of crap, especially in Winnipeg. The most popular Jet is not Laine, it is Buff. He was a cancer in the locker room and we have some very strong leaders in there. He was playing his rock star image and his team mates had enough of it and pretty much forced Chevy to trade him. Be glad with what you got for him and move on. GMJB is not GMTM in any way, shape or form. He isn't going to try to rebuild this team in a season or two. He'll pick out the core players he wants to move ahead with and target other ones around the league and try to make a pitch for them. He will also trim the fat a bit. The one thing he won't do is give up high draft picks (until you're contending) like the last GM.

Any team can still make a trade but noplayer traded after the TD is allowed to play in the playoffs. Two examples... TB makes a trade with AZ and TB makes the playoffs and AZ doesn't. No players traded to TB can play in the playoffs this season. TB makes a trade with NSH and both teams make the playoffs. No players in that trade can play in the playoffs this season. Really rare. Nice to see you guys batting 1.000 without Kaner.

I was comparing Kaner to Stastny, didn't mention the trade. Glad you guys are rid of him and he is in our conference...short chopper ride for him to Vegas now.

In which universe is Kaner a better rental than Stastny? Especially at 3.5m? He's not even a better player let alone rental. He's played in 55 more playoff games than Kaner and has scored .79 ppg over his career. He has more assists in a couple of years than Kaner has ever scored in points! One thing about Kaner, the team he leaves instantly becomes better. Be glad he is gone and you got what you did for him. Thanks for the laugh though. Just a heads up, he won't be re-signing in SJ. Now where's that guy I bet that Kaner was going to be gone before his contract ended?

Five teams serious about him...nobody willing to pay high asking price at first but there are 5 teams circling since Nash was moved...Sabres willing to eat 50% of Kaner's salary to help the deal along.

Except he was coming to Winnipeg and it would have been the 3rd round, not the 2nd. I hope Boston gets Nash so we don't. If I were Chevy, I would give the Oilers an offer they couldn't refuse for RNH.

Kane was injured when you guys traded for him??? Jets want no part of Beaulieu and the talk for Antipin is Petan and I wouldn't do this but we probably lose Petan to waivers this fall... The Ducks won't give up Manson or Lindholm.

I think Kaner goes to the Ducks. They need D too but they need a scoring winger. I don't think the Ducks will be sellers at all like some are saying. A first and a very good prospect is probably what Kaner gets you guys. edit ... Forgot to mention, Vegas and Van are places Kaner might end up this off season.

Kaner will bring back a 1st plus... I hope the Jets acquire Brassard.....we'd have a scary set of forwards with 4 excellent lines.

Botterill will move players like Pouliot and Kane at the TD but I think most if his wheeling and dealing starts after the season is over. He and his inner circle have had a full year of evaluations of all players in the system and the league for that matter. He should know what he wants and what he doesn't by now. He will select his core players and try to build around them. I think he has a busy off season.
