There haven't been any cuts yet. They are doing a 14 day quarantine in their rooms after two players tested positive from what I have read. It's going to really suck for the 10-12 players that will be cut a couple of days after they get back on the ice.

Only MacDavid has been better than MacKinnon over the last few years which is why he is always talked about when it comes to the MVP. His next contract will reflect his worth and it'll be a doozy.

If things keep going the way they are wrt the virus, the Jets will be playing elsewhere. As it is, I would bet that their TC is held somewhere else and they start their first few weeks away from home. A 48 game season seems the most reasonable.

Lucky if the season starts by mid-January.

These restrictions started today in Manitoba... A person who resides in a private residence must not permit a person who does not reside in that residence to enter the property or residence. There are some exceptions for those who live alone and for childcare, healthcare, property maintenance and emergencies. Gatherings in indoor or outdoor public places are limited to five persons for some specific purposes like weddings, funerals and physically distanced outdoor activities. The fundamentals should still be practiced in these situations, including mask wearing and frequent handwashing. Retail businesses must sell only essential items, ensure compliance with capacity limits and implement measures to ensure physical distancing. Retailers can continue to sell essential or non-essential items online, by telephone or by remote means for delivery or pick-up. Travel to and from northern Manitoba is restricted and non-essential travel is discouraged. Other critical services can operate as set out under the public health orders. All personal service businesses, including hair salons, barbers and sites offering manicures, pedicures and other esthetic services, must close. Gyms and fitness centres must close. Religious and cultural gatherings must close or be provided virtually only. Restaurants must close to the public and may be open for delivery, drive-thru or takeout only. Five people allowed in the house that do not live there is the law here now. Masks are mandatory indoors...Bars are closed and restaurants can only do pick up and delivery...gyms, casinos, libraries, movie theaters, beauty salons etc... are closed. Manitoba had about 9 days in a row without a case in July and now we are the worst in the country per 100,000 people.

Everyone has a tendency to over value their prospects but Cozens is as good as gold. If not for Eichel, Cozens would probably be your 1C in 3 years. Having him behind Eichel will be envious in a few years. You don't trade him for Kane because Kane only has 3 years on his contract and you don't want to lose one of your best players when you are hoping to consistently contend for the cup. Cozens, on the other hand, should be developing into one of the best 2Cs in the game at the right time. If you want to trade Cozens, trade him to the Jets. If Kane is traded, it will be to a team that is ready to win the cup right now like the Caps or Vegas or someone of that ilk. Maybe even Pitt if the numbers worked, but I doubt very much that Kane and Toews will be traded even if it is the right thing to do.

My guess would be January 16th at the earliest. About 54 games or a bit less. There is talk that they might do 2 and/or 3 games in a row (similar to baseball) to cut down on travel and such. It looks like there will definitely be a Canadian division. Manitoba just went Code Red and they won't be able hold a TC in Winnipeg for at least 4 weeks and that might be extended depending.
