Only 25-35 for the WHOLE PROVINCE?  You're talking Manitoba, right?  Population 1.3 million?

I live in a county of 2.1 million, so about 1.5x the population of Manitoba.

    New cases today:

Yes, the whole province. There were 33 cases yesterday. 1,187 people have died from Covid since the pandemic started.

Winnipeg (over 750k people) usually gets just over half of the new cases.

Manitoba is almost the size of TX.

Are you seeing Delta variant cases?  It is more virulent, especially the respiratory aspect.

Yes, we are but not as much as other provinces are. Manitoba has been one of the strictest when it comes to restrictions and rightly so. We were doing the shits awhile back with LOTS of positive cases. We are getting 25-35 a day in the province right now. The place I work has kept the mask rule for now.

Answer the poll. Since there were years on this board talking about how Reinhart will be destroyed in the playoffs let's get everyone on record now.

    ppg = points per game

On the whole, I think it is harder to get points in the playoffs than the regular season.

I think he will do just fine in the playoffs but so much depends on linemates.

  4. In Manitoba 80.7% of people over 12 have the first shot and 73.8% of people over 12 have both shots. We are averaging about 34 cases a day with a population of about 1.37 million.

We no longer need to wear masks in most places and most restrictions have been removed; however, I find that over 90% of the people are still wearing masks in public places.

Bomber football games can only be attended by fully vaccinated people and the Jets are saying masks will be worn by fans at games.

They could end up the best Canadian team next year, but thats not saying much compared to the rest of the league.

Toronto will be the closest competition for them and I wouldn't say Toronto has gotten better, but I also don't think they really got any worse.

Montreal would be next and they could come crashing back to earth next year. They were just good enough to make the playoffs in an expanded format and got hot at the right time in them. I don't know if that happens again and it pretty much relies on if Price can play like he did in the playoffs during the season.

Edmonton is still Edmonton, and Calgary, Ottawa and Vancouver are still teams that are hovering around middle of the pact with Ottawa finishing a rebuild and the other 2 retooling again.

I didn't mention the best in Canada?

They aren't in the Canadian division next year, they will be in the Central and I can only see the Avs finishing with more points.

The D they got are just okay. Weak at C. They were horrid defensively from the F position last season. I think they'll be ok and potentially pretty good if things click but I wouldn't predict them to be the best team. Their team metrics were very poor last year overall.

They replaced Tucker Poolman (got a ridiculous contract from Dim Jim) with Nate Schmidt.

They replaced Forbort (got an even more ridiculous deal from the Bruins) with Dillon.

Their metrics will be much better next year. If Chevy manages to keep Copper, I think we finish 2nd in the Central next year.

I think the Jets got more NHL goal scoring out of pick 18 than we will 1 and 14 combined. Have heard Lucius was the top goal scoring C in the draft

I can't see him making the team for 4 years or so but we got lucky again this year getting a faller. He's played some RW as well. Wheeler has 3 years left on his deal (Maurice will no doubt play Wheeler on the 1st line all 3 years...).

Lucius took a puck to the knee and decided to go with surgery and was laid up for 3 months and couldn't skate for 4 months. He was the 10th leading scorer on his team.

You guys got a good haul for Risto though. Kudos to the GM on taking full advantage of that trade. I can't see the Flyers doing well the next  couple of years to be honest. They'll suck hind tit if their goalie doesn't play better, that's for sure. The drafts of 2022 and 2023 are supposed to be very deep. That 2nd could be a really nice piece. Any camp fire gossip about whether Risto is going to extend with them?

I know Chevy is looking for at least one D man but I wish he would have made a play on Rhino, Ehlers-Scheif-Rhino would have made a great line. I'd have given up Copper and next year's first if Rhino's intentions were staying long term.

Risto is getting at least a 2nd unless the player is of significance.

I think he gets more. I was just giving my own personal opinion.

The Jets need to shoot higher than Risto. There are rumors of Pulock wanting to sign here after next season and if they are true, I'd make a deal so Seattle doesn't draft Dylan DeMelo and wait a year.

An easy one to remember is 28 is 82 (within small decimal points) so you can usually guestimate from there without even doing much math.

Also, every degree of C is 1.8F.

If you move up 10C, you are moving up 18F.

It's just too simple for yous guys ... everyting in Metric is based on 10s.  Same with temperature ...

0 is freezing, so 10 is cool ... 20 is nice and ... 30 is hot.

    Works the same backwards ...

    0 is freezing ... -10 is bloody cold ... -20 is i'm freezing by ass off ... -30 is Winnipeg ... am I right @Thorny ... @Ducky

It is much easier but I am old enough to remember the standard system. If you want to convert from Celsius to Fahrenheit all you have to do is multiply it by two, take off 10% and add 32.

    30C

    30 X 2 = 60

    60-6=54

    54 + 32 = 87

    30C = 87F

It is the humidity in Manitoba that kills you.
