    You asked for it.

The next guy will probably get the burn back pretty quickly with that bunch.

What is is about that new coach smell?

New guy comes in and goes on a streak like Boudreau in Vancouver.

Gallant in NY has them pacing for a high finish and sure playoff birth.

Anyways, good luck with your new guy they'll probably go on a run.

Lowry is taking over for the rest of the season. If he doesn't get them into the 2nd round, they should clean house this summer.

Harder to do that mid-season but I wouldn't balk at Julien. Lambert would be another one and I can hope that the Isles do poorly and Trotz is fired and comes home to Manitoba.

I'm sure Chevy is watching what Lowry will do with them and will be grading him along with all the other candidates this summer.

I'm interested to see if Lowry can get a fire going under Scheif's ass. He needs to play some D and keep his frickin shifts shorter. If he can get Scheif and Ehlers going with the season PLD and KC are having, we'll make the playoffs. If we don't make the playoffs, Chevy will clean house.

  2. Let's not forget the losses like the one to Arizona where we let them shut us out in our barn. Losing to the Canucks, lots of talent but a power play , horrible PK for years, etc...

Is past due date was over. Let's hope Lowry can get them into the playoffs.

A loss to the Sabres results in this

Too bad it didn't result in Maurice being fired. Went to sleep after the 2nd and woke up the next morning to check the score and wasn't surprised. I can't express how much I want him gone. The team getting booed off of the ice and 2000 empty seats should tell management something. Listening to his excuses is getting old. If he can light a fire under players like Scheif, find someone that can already.

We've been outplayed, outskated and outcoached this year waaaaaaaaaaaay to many times.

I read someone mention the Jets didn't bring their "A" game. We don't have an "A" game. Scheif is still floating (PLD is the real 1C) and only a hand full of players are playing like they give a *****. This is what the Jets look like when Helle has a mediocre game. How many seasons can you go with that bad of a PK.

Kudos to UPL, he had a whale of a game and it looks like you have found your goalie of the future if he keeps his play up.

  4. Jets going with 7 D and 11 forwards tonight. I think they were going to call up Gustafsson but because of a positive covid test on the Moose, they decided not to call anyone up.

This wouldn't have happened had they called someone up as soon as Wheeler went down and actually let him have a practice with the team but I guess they are pinching pennies because we are so close to the cap.

You've really got to watch KC and PLD. They are really on their game this season.

Another thing is our abysmal PK. If we take a lot of penalties, we are sunk.

Oh ya, it is Winnerpeg (back to back Grey Cups) not Winterpeg...sitting at a balmy 39F right now!!!

Thanks guys.  Appreciate the advice as I don't have a ton of real life experience dealing with bears.  Had some major bear dumps around 30 yards from the cabin and knew I needed to figure it out quick lol.  Bear spray and a horn is on order.

Air horn and a Model 37 Ithica with the rifled barrel and slugs. I've shot every bear I have ever shot, except my first, with a slug and have never had to track one.

I agree with the general sentiment. It's the same one that I have. However, where I have a slightly different take is that the GM doesn't have to take on a high contract or even a long term goalie this offseason to upgrade the position enough to uplift this team. He can get a good goalie who not only immediately upgrades the position but also helps the organization buy itself more time to deal with that critical position. Is our long term goalie already in the system? Maybe?  However, having a good bridge goalie helps this team in the short and long term. It's an issue that needed to be better addressed last offseason, and still needs to be addressed this offseason.

I couldn't agree with this more.

Price and Bob have huuuge contracts that you really don't need.

Find the goalie you want to grow with your young stars, you don't have to rush into anything right now.

Tomorrow night they will surprise the Rangers.  Take that momentum a step further against the Caps.  Pack it all up and take it to the frozen tundra that is Winterpeg (hey, oh @Thorny and @Ducky and GO BOMBERS!!) and just keep rolling into the Christmas break.

Going up to a downright balmy 39F on Sunday!

The Bombers should dominate this Sunday in Hamilton for the repeat!

    GO BOMBERS!!!!!

Not at all. Until UPL starts stringing multiple quality starts together at the AHL level he can't even be considered to be the NHL backup. (Note: if UPL plays consistently great the rest of the season on the Sabres, fine... then they still need a starting caliber goalie who is ready for the grind.)

Then.............doesn't it make sense to have a goalie signed for next season too?

RFA's have very little leverage unless they are at the end of their RFA.

Brossoit would be a great add to any team.

The placeholder has to only be this year. Otherwise the RFAs will start to come due and not sign long-term, or will sign short-term qualifying offers to get out, or demand trades. Because at a certain point they know you don't want to win as a franchise. And then you haven't changed the culture at all -- you've just ruined the next core.

There's someone in the org ready to be a starter next season?

    honest question

They definitely need to lean towards patience with Perfetti.

He''s playing well for the Moose and the PP needs a shot in the arm. I'd call him up for 6 games to see if he is ready.

Gustafsson would be another player I'd call up (PK help) but he is not a top 6 player.

Thankfully for them the Wheeler deal is only two more seasons after this one. Awful contract.

It might be but he is one of the players playing like he actually gives a *****. He's been pretty much a point per game player until this season. This season he should be on the 3rd line.

Also, Scheifele will not being going to the olympics unless he buys a ticket. Ehlers doesn't know what he's doing and the coach breaks up KC PLD and Svech when they are owning opposing lines.

Just a thoroughly disgusting, shameful and putrid display on the ice the last 8 or so games. If we don't have Helle, we are sucking hind tit with AZ this year. Chevy needs to do something but not sure what? We are at the cap. I know I'd call up Perfetti to help the comatose PP. Two of the next three games are against TO and the Canes so things aren't looking up.

  12. The Jets making the Coyotes look like a good hockey club as they slowly drop out of playoff contention. The refs feeling sorry for them and giving them power play after power play and the Jets struggling to get a shot...just a horrible, horrible hockey team right now. Can Maurice last much longer?

Can't score a goal against AZ?

Wheeler with no goals this year?

    Scheifele with 3?

1 goal in the last 30? power plays?

In 6 of the last 7 games the Jets have scored 0, 1, 0, 1, 1, 2 goals. The one game they won was 4-2 against the Flames and they didn't deserve to win that one.

Good thing our football team has started winning games.

Time for a shake up in Jetsland.
